Pros: The location, the charm and atmosphere. My dad enjoyed the cookies at night. And I think everyone enjoys the resident cat :)

Cons: Could make a little more effort on breakfast items even during covid times. The coffee and hot water for tea where not that hot. But that being said, for the good price of the room I’m not making this a big deal.

Pros: Gorgeous place. The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in was very courteous and helpful. He gave us excellent advice on where to eat and things to do. Very unique building. I loved the classic feel it had.

Cons: When you enter the in and stay on the left side there is a stair that is very difficult to see with the carpet. They should definitely have some sort of high visibility strip on that step. My mother fell as we entered.

The front desk associates that worked the evening of our check-in were so friendly and had excellent dining suggestions. The room was amazing and had a great history. The decor was clean, fresh, and not cluttered. The amenities in the bathroom were really nice too. I cant wait to return.

Cons: I really was in shocked with how dirty this hotel is. When you walk in you expect nothing but an amazing experience. I first noticed the level of uncleanliness when we checked into our room. Walking into the room you were amazed by how grand and beautiful it was designed and put together. We walked over to the desk and night stands and there was layer of dust all over it. The baseboards were the same way. I thought maybe this room had not been used in a while. Then we went down to the lobby where there is a puzzle on the coffee table with the couches. It was full of crumbs and dirt. If the hotel had been slightly busy this would make sense but it wasn't nor did it appear to be fresh crumbs and grease marks. The next morning we had breakfast and the restaurant in the lobby. The hostess was very friendly, our waitress wasn't at first but she came around. There appears to be huge coffee spatters all over the wall on the left hand side of the restaurant. It's extremely noticeable and behind the booths that look directly at the kitchen again layers of dust. So sad to see an amazing hotel look this dirty. Just makes you wonder what else may be going on

Cons: Restaurant options were misleading on website. I like a full breakfast. That was one if the reasons I picked this particular property. The website said $15 full breakfast if it wasn't already in your room rate. When we arrived,it was $8 continental breakfast. Boohoo! I get continental breakfast at home. Update your website!

Cons: One 2 of the 3 staff I had dealings with were very polite. The third which was a employee that was working the breakfast buffet was very rude . The explained that my room came with a complementary continental breakfast but could only get the hot bar or the cold bar but not both . So I said the hot bad. Then as he handed me my plat of food I went to get a carton of milk . The then began to tell me I could not get any milk because it was for the cold bar and I chose the hot bar. I was very disappointed and sat my plate down and walked to the front desk and complained to the manager. I really hope that's not a normal way of doing things.

Pros: We had a small hiccup upon checking in through no fault of the young lady at the desk but it was quickly resolved and went to our room. The room was very nicely appointed and consistent with the quality of a doubletree hotel.

Cons: The location is just okay, it is close to the highway and some retail stores but the restaurant selection were thin at best. It was a 15-20 min drive for more choices in that area.

Cons: Hall ways were very hot also the atmosphere in the room was damp. The bathrooms had no fan.

Cons: Had to be moved twice because the heat did not work in the first two rooms we were assigned to.

Cons: The lobby, hallway and elevator had visible debris and were never cleaned during our 3-day stay. There was an obscenity scratched into one of the elevator walls and the lobby staff was not visible at the desk -- the overall feeling was one of neglect and lack of service for guests.

That's ridiculous I've never had my deposit held that long or be that much. I also didn't like that the hotel clerk told me that breakfast would be served from 7-10 but when I got there it wasn't complimentary it was a Starbucks so disappointing.

Pros: I liked how beautiful and clean things were. I liked that everyone was very friendly and you are able to text them if you need anything. Everything was nicely remodeled and everyone was very welcoming.

Cons: I didn’t like that when I purchased this room, they advertised a swimming pool (I have two small children who were excited to swim) and when we got here, they said they turned the swimming pool into a fitness center. Then, we didn’t like that nothing was open in here. Which we understand that covid has changed many things but I feel like people should be compensated in some way for the inconvenience.

Cons: Poor cleaning!!!! I took pictures of multiple questionable stains on bathroom walls and door. The tub was not clean properly, the shower curtain was all dirty and I found a sponge hanging on it I guess left out by the previous guest. The rest of the room was not vacuumed and lamps were so dusty! My son found a long hair by his pillow. I found this very unsettling especially during the pandemic of the corona virus when disinfecting are a MOST!!

Cons: Place was not only under VERY heavy construction, but the two staff I dealt with, Anthony and Patricia, were undoubtedly the rudest people I've ever encountered at a property anywhere, in all my travels. I am honestly shocked this place is still in business, and judging from the lack of people there on a Friday night, they probably won't be for long. I'd suggest to stay far away from this place.

Cons: The overall appearance of the hotel was that it had been a nice big name chain hotel at one time but it was now privately owned and minimal money had been put towards upkeeping it. The sink backed up after leaving the water on for a couple minutes and there was black residue left in the sink after it finally drained.

Cons: The door where guest come in and out was stuck open, where anyone could come in or out. I didn’t feel safe. The refrigerator froze my insulin, I had to waste 4 insulin pens and was with out insulin for 3 days. The whole floor smelled like marijuana. The ice machine and drink machine was out of order. The bagged breakfast was unexceptionable. I am a diabetic and could not eat any of it. Filled trash bags where throughout the floor. I brought my concerns to the hotel and was told because I book through you there was nothing they could do. The amount of money I have ended up spending because of this stay is crazy. I will not be staying at that hotel ever again. This is the first time I used booking, and not sure if I will again.

Pros: The Hawthorne Inn is conveniently located by Baptist Hospital and has a shuttle to and from for visitors. They have a complimentary breakfast, which is has the basics for a morning meal. The room was spacious, with a desk, microwave, and refrigerator. It was a great hotel for business purposes.

Cons: Beginning with the parking garage, you cannot access the hotel from any entry other than the main door. If you park in the garage you have to walk down because the elevator is out(it was that night anyway. The room had no towels or extra sheets. When I called the front desk at 930 pm looking for towels and sheets for the pull out sofa, I was told they would deliver them. 30 minutes later I called inquiring where they were because it was now 10ish and my kids are tired. I’m told they are being washed and they will call me in 30 to 45 minutes. I know the hotel was not at capacity so I’m not sure why there were no linens whatsoever. I cannot even imagine how this could happen. I called back after a while and hear the guy saying “Jesus Christ” under his breath as he is answering the phone as though he was irritated that the phone was ringing. I tell him to cancel my order for towels and sheets.I found a set of sheets in another room from someone who had an extra set. A friend was staying in another room and had to ask how to reach the front desk because the phone had no information on it, just buttons. My ziplock bag of coffee material lacked creamer, which is no biggie, but an inconvenience nonetheless. There was trash left in the hallway by someone that sat there for hours. On the check in desk there is a nasty jar of key cards being sanitized as though it is a science experiment, yet they had a tray of wrapped candy for you to grab. The hotel appeared as though it was being closed down. We went to the lower level and it was dirty, nasty bathrooms, chairs overturned...there was something dead in one of the toilets downstairs in the lower lobby...maybe a rat? You can’t make this up. The area was not off limits so I’m not sure what In the world was happening.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was very impressive. The bed was comfortable. Afternoon complementary beverages and snacks were a plus. The location was right next door to where I was attending a convention.

Cons: The inside looks very outdated. I was put into a handicapped accessable room and the shower head holder was broken so when I showered I had to hold the shower head between my feet to prevent the water from spraying out into the rest of the bathroom.

Pros: Straight forward deal of a hotel downtown. Convenient for the occasion and great to meet with multiple families for a performance in town.

Cons: Dated elevators with excessive waiting time, especially when kids think it is fun to chase each other up and down on the elevators. one Of three elevators seemed to be out of order. Breakfast is ok if included in the room rate but not worth it to be purchased. Although the staff was friendly.

Pros: Loved the included breakfast and having coffee, refrigerator, and microwave in the room! And ALL of the staff I encountered was so incredibly friendly!

Cons: Seems silly, but the bathroom not having a vent fan was a downer to me. It got so hot in there with showering and using vanity after while keeping the door closed for my privacy and out of respect for sleeping roommates. Overall, the hotel and rooms seem a little dated. Our doors were noisy to open and close, which again makes it tough to be courteous to sleeping roommates. And the bathroom door was VERY hard to close all the way, so it stayed slightly ajar most of the time.

Cons: The only disappointment was the restaurant. The waitress was new - no fault of hers. The kitchen was extremely slow. We ordered salads and soups, the fastest meals. Over one hour we were only served salads. We decided to rake food to go. It was for some reason a problem, so they offered room service. We agreed and also ordered 2 desserts. The check was closed on our room, which was done by the server due to her supervisor's direction. Apparently supervisor didn't bother asking us as of what was a convenient method of payment. As we arrived to our room, the soups were delivered, no desserts. After we called, the dessert was delivered, but only one instead of 2. At that point we just gave up, and never came back to the restaurant. Also the food was unremarkable. For a place like this, the menu has to be better.

Pros: The front desk staff was very friendly and personable. They were also very helpful. Some members of the cleaning staff were kind as well.

Cons: The hand towels in my room had been used before I arrived. They were actually wet, stank of something odd, and placed back in the towel rack. I was unable to use them. The cable was almost non-existent. I watched only one channel while I was there. I had problems with connecting to the internet while I was there. We rented a total, I believe, of 7 rooms, and others had cleanliness issues and internet issues as well.

Cons: There was no one at the front desk when I tried to check in. My reservation was for a non-smoking room. At first, the front desk women gave me a smoking room. She then changed me to a non-smoking room. This new room had an odor of smoke. Thank goodness this room was just for sleeping. This was all I did.

Cons: Pillowcases and sheets were not clean. Pulled the spread back and found a live roach. He was stuck to the spread. Manager wouldn't approve for a change of room. Didn't come in till 6 a.m. on 12/5. This does not sit well with me. Very unprofessional no matter how you look at it.

We stayed there because we had to make trip to visit my husband cousin who was just admitted to hospice with brain cancer. I didnt expect a 4 start hotel for the price but I did expect it to be clean , i would think that with a coronavirus cases they would offer more detailed cleaning.

Cons: Absolutely nothing provided as part of the cost of the room. Kitchen with no dishes, silverware or coffee maker, but you can rent dishes and cooking stuff for 30.00 and a coffee maker for 25.00. Won’t ever stay at one of these again.
