The location The hotel's lack of help and flexibility when we wanted to change our booking to a different date. This was due to the uncertainty of our flight departures due to the French strikes. the hotel did not try to accommodate our request in any way. we were not trying to cancel, merely rebook for another date
location, style, grandeur, service. lack of pool (not expected in a periodic building), noisy air conditioning, lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Excellent location next to the main square, within easy walking distance from railway station and all sights. Comfortable bed and pillows. Double glazing blocks out the noise from the square. Clean. Spacious, uncluttered room. Pleasant staff. Interesting original decoration. Decent breakfast, although you could get something cheaper and less substantial from a nearby café. Slow to repair things like lightbulbs. Very little natural light in the public areas (but that's just a personal preference).
The location of this hotel, right on the Place Comedie, is great. For bars/culture/shopping to be right on your doorstep is just what you want in a city break. The car park is very close, under the Place, which was handy. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant for our first night, Les Bains, two minutes walk from the hotel, and the restaurant next door to the hotel also seemed excellent, though we did not manage to eat there. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, and rooms are a little tired. Also, being close to the nightlife has the drawback of being noisy.
Montpellier is a very fascinating city and Newhotel du Midi with his amazing location just on Place de la Comedie is the perfect place if you want to discover the city center. In the bathroom there weren't either windows or air condition.
Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent location, lovely views of the main square.
Good facilities and friendly staff excellent location
It's well located The hotel is not family friendly. We were using a pram for our three month old baby and the stairs in front of the hotel make it difficult to circulate. The hotel is on pedestrian area, so we had to carry all our luggage and baby from the underground parking nearby (which also does not seem to have an elevator) to the hotel. The hotel staff did not offer to help, not even once, even though they were not busy at the time. The staff seemed quite inexperienced and was not very forthcoming in providing information about the location. If you have family, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. There are others nearby, as well-situated and cheaper.
The location was very central , very convenient to the railway station , and the frequent tram service . great for a short city break Breakfast should be included in the price , dining room not very impressive
The hotel was centrally located in the town square and close to the tram and parking. Great location
location and the hotel itself. The bathrooms were lovely! It would be good to have provision for making tea or coffee in the room
good position in city. near station.
The room was spacious and I enjoyed the bathtub. There was no shower curtain for showering which meant water landed everywhere. Also no real aeration in the bathroom meaning water vapour ended up in the bedroom and water was still on the bathroom floor overnight. This probably explained the smell of dampness in the room upon arrival.
The position of the hotel is just fantastic for a city break. I felt the rooms were small for the price, and the toilet was not as clean as I would have liked. The shower head had no holder on the wall.
Friendly and serviceminded staff, location near city square Lack of minibar, lack of comfortable chairs.
Excellent facilities in great location. Staff spoke English and were very helpful.would definitely stay there again Nothing
nearnes of city facilties Separate toilet had no ventilation so was inclind to smell
Good location, right next to trams and railway station. Close to all main attractions
Excellent proximity to town centre
The staff were helpful and the location was fantastic just 200m fro the train station. Our room was big enough and comfortable but the amenites quite basic. The price of the hotel was great for what we got. Even though it is a 3 star hotel the rooms and the hotel look a bit tired it could do with a bit of an upgrade.
Location Personal car access not available. Parking fees deals not available and expensove. Gym not available
quite a grand hotel with beautiful swimming pool. a feeling off 'old world'. convenient for walking to old city.
Well appointed spacious room. Professional staff n/A
The staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. We had a problem with the air conditioning unit in the room. The staff moved us to another room with as little disruption as possible. I would highly reccommend the hotel for it's superb location.
Location, choice of pillows It's not really a Holiday Inn aimed at individual travelers and their families, but a business/convention hotel aimed at people with expense accounts. WiFi is an outrageous $48/day, with one hour for $16. Breakfast is 18 euros, almost $30 at current exchange rates, completely impossible for the average traveler. Fortunately, there were reasonable alternatives in the area.
Excellent room, very quiet and comfortable bed. Good shower and bathroom. Good online facilities. Staff were a bit snooty. I accidentally got the key code incorrect and though I was late, The manager was very rude and left me on the street at 1:30am.
The kindness and helpfulness of the personnel Missing a parking facility
It was a typically well run very french hotel right in the centre of Monpellier, we will certainly stay there again There might have been too many stairs for the less fit person
Friendly staff. Central location. Good breakfast. Nothing really.
Superb hotel, great location, very, very close to the centre but quiet and peaceful (cul-de-sac, so no traffic). Nice comfortable feel to the hotel and tastefully decorated. Good sized room and bathroom (de-luxe room)_ Not really ............. slight problems with the TV channels
The location is fantastic. In the city center but calm and peaceful. Very good sized rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. Excellent hotel. No...... apart from slight problem with the satelite TV channels.
The location of the hotel is fantastic - a one minute walk to the main square where you will find plenty of places to have breakfast, lunch & dinner. The hotel room is basic but clean. The bathroom was spacious, clean & included a decent variety of bathroom accessories. Overall a great place to stay near the action.
very nice and helpful staff, very clean rooms.
Very central location. Clean, comfortable, modern facilities. No parking but car parks are very close.
The employees were very kind and helpful The brekafast was not well organized. Took me 30 mn to get some coffee
Friendly guy at reception, fast wi-fi. There was not any aircondition in the room, bathroom dark and very small. No elevetor. I have stayed there because of the location (near to the train station)...but i have seen so many better option for hotels, closer to station and in the same price range.
basic, clean budget accommodation ideally located for easy reach of centre. would use again
It was in between cities, so it really wasn't a stay I would usually do. All we needed was a bed. So it was adequate.
The hotel was conveniently placed for the trams and the railway station. It was also only 5-10 minutes walk to the Antigone shops and the Place de la Comedie. My room was at the back, so it was reasonably quiet. It was also clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom seemed to have been recently refurbished. Lack of a lift and having to carry my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs was the worst thing. The staff on reception did not speak English, but this just highlighted my own inadequacies.
Great location, only 8 minutes from La Comedie and very cheap for the time of year. Air conditioning was cheap and wifi was good quality. Was very difficult to extend my booking and it's not the most awsthetically pleasing of hotels but not at all bad! Walls were a little thin.
the area the bed
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and good value for money. The area the hotel was in seemed a little dodgy, I wouldn't recommend it to young lone travellers as you have to walk through dark empty streets to access it. Also I didn't get any sleep the night we stayed due to lots of noise coming from the street all night long. It was however a saturday night and I'm sure the noise had nothing to do with the hotel.
Staff were friendly and tried their best to help. More basic than advertised, wifi wouldn't work on 3rd floor. Only one bath towel for 2 people! Hardy any bedding which meant it was cold at night, pillows that were less than useless!
We required secure parking which was some distance from the hotel and in a basement in Antigone and under half inch of water. After our departure we had to post back the remote control to the hotel.
Good value for money. All we needed was a clean bed/room for the weekend. Could do with an update; particularly the colour scheme. It would be useful if the shower head had something to hang it from! Very noisy early in the morning.
its poistion between the railway station and the central square
the landlady was very friendly, the location very convenient, close to the center and the train station the room was very basic, the sink in the bathroom didn't wotk properly
Location was excelent however room was a bit dirty and smelly... Nightlife is pretty busy and the railway station is just at the en of the street so use earbuds.
Absolutely bad experience, very poor quality, absolutely not worth the 84 euros we paid. Very basic, old fashioned, smelly, the owners of the hotel are smoking all day in the sleezy breakfast area. Not cozy at all, not quiet at all (streetnoise !) Much too expensive for what it was. We are dissapointed and this hotel should not be on the site of Booking.com.
Location of hotel, close to the railway station is the reason to stay.
Cleanliness of room and ensuit. Location and polite hotel staff. Big spacious room, hanging and storage space for clothes and luggage. Close to nightlife, cafes, restaurants and train station. Free Wifi TV a little small and old. Door also could be a little creaky when people walked past the hallway. Its close to nightlife so you can hear people on the streets sometimes.
no door between bedroom and bathroom
Central to city and close to station. Made to feel welcomed. Some redecoration required.
