I booked a car via KAYAK one way from Phoenix to Tucson. In the booking it was stated that car is by agency choice. When I cam to pick-up, I was told that this is "manager special" and it is electric car with less than 100miles range, clearly not match to my booking. As a result I was charged extra $20 for gasoline car. I do not understand why I was offered the option that is clearly not suitable for my request and thus I was charged extra.Reviewed 14 Sept 2024

When I arrived in Arizona, I made a reservation to go back home. I did it through the Internet and the Internet gave me the wrong dates. I ran to the airport because it was a Sunday. The only place that was open was the airport the guy at the airport I don’t remember his name. I told him that I made a reservation that I need to cancel it because the date was wrong. He said no problem. He would cancel it. I try to get a car to rent, but I only had my debit card The company does not take a debit card the rest of my cards I could not use, so young guy promised he would cancel reservation . Well, he didn’t and I kept getting emails. Finally I called the company after half hour finally someone came to the phone. The girl said no problem. She’ll cancel it for me that it was not canceled. Hopefully my card wasn’t charged so I’m not happy about the whole ordeal because I was promised it was gonna be canceled and it wasn’t and not only that the screen was open left open. I did ask him to close the screen. He said it was fine, so I’m hoping that my credit cards are not in the web somewhereReviewed 19 Jun 2024

3:30 am drop off at Sky Harbor and no Hertz employees there to receive us. We just parked car in a slot and went to plane. I had to call Hertz to tell them where we parked it so i wouldn't get docked for being late.Reviewed 29 Apr 2024

Booked an EV for my 7 day rental, showed up to begin rental and was told they don't have any ev's for me. I pointed out there were over 10 ev's in the lot of only 25 cars total but was told none were available. They offered a 2 door mustang ICE for my family of 4. I informed that would not work, and was told I could pay another $40 day to "upgrade" to a mid size SUV. Sensing bait and switch I took the mustang which was dirty and had obvious mechanical issues if it had been inspected between rentals. This was not anything like a normal Hertz rental, more like a sketchy discount rental company. Staff were kind people and clearly working hard so have to give them credit for their struggle. Rental was a dishonest system that didn't provide my family with the needs we had booked. Won't rent again from here.Reviewed 21 Feb 2024

Honestly one of the worst pickup experiences I’ve ever had. I got to my pickup location and the sales team told me the rental team went home! So I had to pay to go back to the airport where the line took an hour and then getting me in the car took another hour. The amount of time wasted was bad business. I then got the Tesla with under 50% charge so I had to charge it before I reached my destination 100 miles away. Absolutely appalled overallReviewed 8 Nov 2023
