I mostly blame the dreadful Berlin airport, not Norwegian, but we departed in the rain after trekking for a mile to get to the gate, carrying everything including our baby and luggage down a couple flights of stairs and then walking to the plane on the tarmac in the rain and climbing more stairs to enter the hot airplane. The flight itself was fine, but sitting in the cramped chair, soaking wet, baby in lap, also wet, was hard to overcome.

Ticket desk was really helpful in resolving issues with ticket machine. Reception staff were less than helpful.l and grumpy when issues were highlighted.

The flight was delayed by 1.5 hours & the gate was changed, so it was a long walk from the 1st gate to the 2nd gate. The bags took about 1 hour to arrive after landing. Ridiculous wait for bags for which we paid extra $$$$$$$

The upholstery of our seats (7A+7B) were in bad shape: twisted, hard and uncomfortable. We also had a 55 minutes delay. Apart from that everything was OK.

Overview of Norwegian

The primary headquarters for Norwegian Air International is Dublin; however, hubs are also found in Barcelona, Copenhagen, London and Madrid, among other cities. Services are available to 40 countries across the world, with some destinations across Southeast Europe and Asia operating on a seasonal basis.

Operating as the low-cost subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle, the airline prides itself as a budget-friendly travel option. Recognized as Europe’s Best Low-Cost Airline by the World Airline Awards in 2019 for a fifth consecutive year, customers love the reduced fares. It also received an Outstanding Contribution to Aviation Award from the Irish Aviation Industry in 2017.

Free Wi-Fi and live TV are available to passengers on most European flights, while personal entertainment systems are found on long-haul international flights. There are 3 fare options for most flights operated by Norwegian Air International: LowFare, LowFare+ and Flex. The differences come down to checked baggage and seat reservation, with Flex allowing up to 2 checked bags as well as 1 carry-on bag. On long-haul international flights meals are provided to LowFare+ and Flex passengers.

The fleet of Norwegian Air International is made up entirely of Boeing aircraft, with the 737-800 and 737 MAX the preferred series. The planes can hold between 186 and 189 passengers. Seats on the more popular 737-800 have approximately 29 to 31 in of space between the seat in front and widths of roughly 17.2 in. There is a single aisle down the middle of the aircraft, with 3 seats on either side. Extra legroom is available at both the middle and the front of the seating layout.
