The car was rented in Italy from Hertz at a competitive rate. The car size and model was as we expected. As a matter of fact, it was an upgrade to us, since it was a Hybrid model and we did not ask for it. This feature of course saved us gas. The car was new (only 987 km). It came with insurance coverage but no 3rd party damage and injury (the so-called collision coverage). We had purchased collision coverage through Kayak from home at very competitive rates. So we were fully covered. Returning the car was quick and easy. No issues to report.Reviewed 1 Oct 2021

Cons:Staff is rude and standoffish. They make you wait for over 1.5hrs to pick up a car you have a confirmation on and constantly try to upsell. Do not rent from here. They put the Hertz name to shame.Reviewed 24 Sep 2019

Not openPros:NothingCons:Although I was able to make a reservation online, the place was not open when I went to pick up the car. After waiting an hour for the place to open, I went to a different Hertz only to find out that it was a holiday and only certain locations were open. I was very frustrated by the fact that I was allowed to make an online reservation despite Hertz knowing they would be closed that day. No one ever tried to contact me and give me the heads up. Terrible servicePros:LocationCons:Horrible wait times to pickup car even with reservation. No information on wait times or why the wait was so long. Nothing done to address the wait or the people waiting in 39 degree Celsius weather because there was no room inside. Attendant told us there was gas near the drop-off which was completely wrong.Reviewed 6 Aug 2018

Sneaky Extra ChargesPros:Nice carCons:I had to wait an hour for my already short rental because I wasn't directly a Hertz customer, then I wasn't informed anywhere that they charge commission for the pre-paid gas so a €70 rental cost me €115, and another €100 rental after that cost me €177. Didn't find out until the second time because I wasn't even given a proper check out service at the end of the first. Disgusting, will never use them again.Reviewed 11 Jun 2018
