|Top route||Hong Kong Intl to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi|
|Top airport||Hong Kong Intl|
Cons: We should have been allowed to sit near our family (wives). There was empty row but they wanted to charge us to move up. Ridiculous!!
Pros: Check in staff was friendly and helpful
Cons: Refused to serve me food when I woke up.
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: The flight took forever to land. Pilot said prepare for descent and we stayed in the air for another forty minutes. The air smelled awful. One of the worst flights I’ve ever taken.
Pros: I was able to purchase extended seat room for a reasonable price.
Cons: No free drinks or entertainment or anything to help pass the flight time.
Cons: Staff at check-in counter were not helpful. They were there and they weren't. We were there at the front while two of the counters were ready but didn't call us up. They were chatting with each other instead. We I asked them are they ready to work, she ask me where was I heading. What is the difference?
Pros: Comfortable seat in emergency exit row!!
Pros: HK Express compensated for delay
Cons: Fight was delayed 2 hours
Cons: Terrible attitude from the staff
Cons: Sat on runway 2 hours and then bags delayed 1 hour
Cons: They didn’t offer any thing to drink, complimentary
Pros: Price was good and HK to Tokyo times were good
Cons: No entertainment on 5 hour flight
Pros: Nothing in particular.
Cons: They don't tell you that 1) you aend up paying more than other airlines charge by the time you add various 'extras'; and 2) you have to go through immigration because they are in another terminal. This means two hours of work, plus I missed my flight because I didn't have 3 hrs. They said my fault.
Pros: Good price to go HK to Tokyo
Cons: Flight attendant woke up a baby to tell passenger something and then baby cried for next hour No water unless you pay for it
Pros: The crew was very nice, seats comfortable and the airline seemed well run for a discount carrier.
Pros: Easy flight, nice crew
Cons: Budget airline. Have to buy drinks. Space between seats is tight. Spend the money for the seat with more leg room if you are average height or taller
Cons: IS THIS A WAY TO RUN AN AIRLINE? WHAT A BLANKING JOKE! People should notify Ralph Nader & PUT in a LAW or a LEGAL INSTRUMENT that MANDATES compensation to “We the People”, the consumers, the citizens, the customers, man. IF a flight leaves 1-15 minutes late = okay BUT IF a flight leaves > than
Pros: The web specials for prices
Cons: At least provide water to guests.
Cons: Service from the crew could have been better. This crew was not hospitable and we had to ask multiple times for our requests.
Pros: I wasn’t able to get the flight and the booking agent never amended this despite 2 weeks of emails and phone calls
Cons: Lastminute.com could have answered my emails
Pros: Low budget and efficient
Pros: Service was fine. Charged 50 usd for 21kg checked baggage. Food and beverage was not complimentary during flight.
Cons: Fine experience. Stuck next to obese traveler that forced me to lean into the aisle. My bad luck, not the airlines fault.
Pros: I just want a seat in a high season!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Friendly crew and very organized
Cons: Wish we didn’t have to buy water and entertainment lacked for a flight this long.
Cons: Made me do a ticket change because I used the first initial and not the full name for my middle name.
Been flying 30 years and this is the first time I have had a problem. Won't take these bargain airlines again. It was my first time taking one.
Same with my 6 year old's ticket as well.
HK express not helpful or empathetic at all!
Pros: Price was good.
Cons: Never boarded the plane! I was not notified that luggage check-in closed 1 prior to departure; who knew it would take luggage more than an hour to reach the plane... I checked-in already and was only a couple minutes past the cut-off; they wouldn’t check my luggage in. Instead of offering some solutions or let me pay extra for checking at the gate, I was told my flight was closed, I would have to re-book at full price. I was there before the posted boarding time with time to spare. To top it off, I received a phone call from them asking if I was on board the plane.. online chat with customer service, not helpful either, thenperson I was chatting with just ended the chat after telling me 1 minute past they went check in.
Cons: Although it was one e-ticket, I was surprised that HK express could not forward my luggage to my final destination.
This almost caused me to miss my connection and caused me to pay twice for my extra luggage (which accumulated to a significant amount)
Not cost effective
Pros: Easy boarding, and slept the flight.
Cons: It was the hidden prices after booking that ticked me off. Charged for seat after paying airfare, charged for any checked baggage, no in flight service without charge, and you arrive so late to HK you have to Bus or Taxi in. Not worth it.
Not using HK Express Again
Pros: It was a short flight.
Cons: Tried to save by booking a different carrier. When it can time to check in... I was charged for my seat, charged for a carry-on weighing more than 7kg and forced to check, chose not to pay for a meal, pay for a drink... so many hidden fees. Ended up not saving at all. No savings, no miles, no perks. Will always use an aliance (UA, Asiana, etc) or SkyTeam (Delta, Korean Air) from now on. I at least get my money’s worth.
HK Express to Tokyo
Pros: I love when they have great deals on airfare. The late night flight works well for me.
Cons: Wish the air cooler was stronger and that water was served during the trip.
Cons: Budge airline, uncomfortable seats
Cheap airline. I guess it’s expected
Pros: Not much
Cons: Crew, plane, food wasn’t complementary and if you want to buy it you will be very disappointed.
Pros: On time
Pros: Price is good
Cons: No entertainment, no water
A poor experience with Hong Kong Express
Pros: I'm glad it was only a three hour flight
Cons: I connected from a Cathay Dragon flight onto an HK Express flight to Jeju. At the transfer desk, the ground agent told me I would have to leave and reenter the restricted area despite having no checked luggage. Knowing it can't be right, I checked in on my phone and went through the normal transfer process in HKIA. It was a 0215 flight from the midfield concourse. The last automated passenger carrier left at 0100. After which, passengers would have to rely on sporadic bus services. The captain announced 'cabin crew, prepare for landing' 45 minutes before landing. That woke everyone up and it was not ideal. All the flights I have been on announced landing when the plane was at base leg.
Cheap deal and you get what you paid for
Pros: Cheap service out of Hong Kong
Cons: Lack of seat pitch
Cons: Due to their mistkes with connections and communication I never made it on my flight therefor the specific indicators way be inaccurate but I would say an overall terrible experience.
Pros: Clean cabin
Poor customer servide
Pros: The airport had an emergency shut down and we didn’t get notification about it. When we showed up in airport, the only accommodation was 250 Thai bhat Burger King vouchers that it’s not even enough to buy a drink after getting a burger.
Pros: On time departure and arrival, had priority boarding and check-in, you get what you pay for.
Pros: Great job
Cons: Small seats
Pros: Professional staff
Cons: I did not like that there was no food or snacks given for the flight. Also did not like I had to pay for a drink of water.
Pros: Quick flight between HK & DaNang on time both directions. Convenient flight schedule. Smooth flight. Crew was friendly.
Cons: Had to purchase food, beverages but wasn’t really necessary due to short duration of flight
Pros: Flight departed on tme and arrived on time
Cons: got sick from food
I'm not going to take again if it delay 6hours
Cons: Could not contact service team even Hong Kong office. They just sent email to let us know the delay, but nothing at all
Cons: Seats were very very uncomfortable
Flight delay for about 5 hours
Cons: The light was delayed and we arrived in Chiang Mai at 11pm. We got penalty of late rental car pick up. And our hotel is a yoga resort so it a far in the mountain. We arrived at the resort at 2am and we had to wake everybody up and the driving was dangerous without street lights.
Pros: Cheap but on time
Cons: Too much promotion message
You get what you pay for
Pros: We landed safely and the crew were polite
Cons: Late on the way to Da Nang and very late on the way back (flight back to HK was a Hong Kong Express plane). Budget airlines are just not worth it at HKIA - your flights lands and takes off so far from the terminal, you are transferred by bus! No in flight entertainment- although not an issue on such a short flight.
Pros: It was cheap
Cons: Everything about it was not good and I will never fly them again
The flights was canceled till now no refund
Cons: The flights was canceled till now no refund
Cons: The wait for baggage was ridiculious! The searing was for 1&1/2 meter tall people!
Nonstops on Hong Kong-Chiang Rai!
Pros: Not having to connect in Bangkok. Crew were attractive, friendly, and professional. The flight was on time, despite a growing-pain glitch with the check-in system that resulted in a slow line for check-in. As I knew this is an LCC and that I would pay for food ad baggage, I prepared accordingly and set my expectations properly. Once you understand the business model of an LCC and don't expect it to be Singapore Airlines, you will have a good time.
Cons: A glitch in the check-in system meant it took forever to check in, but this was explained by the check-in staff, so hopefully this is due to the fact that this route just opened. No other complaints!
Not a pleasant experience flying HK Express for th
Pros: Reasonable fares but given the issues encountered may pay more for a better airline next time.
Cons: 1. Flight was over an hour delayed with no comment on the cause of the delay 2. Once the flight was boarded the crew made no apology for the delay 3. Once the flight landed in HKG it was parked in a remote bay and every one was crammed into a single bus 4. Checked in bags were not delivered for over an hour after landing (all bags delayed)
Cons: Delayed. Food choice wasn't available and tried to pay with credit card but there was a minimum value. Decided not to eat.
(Almost) perfectly on time
Pros: In both directions, the flight left within one minute of schedule and arrived within one minute of schedule. I expect a flight to operate within 15 minutes on either side of scheduled departure, and this roundtrip nailed it.
Cons: I don't like the fact that Kayak does not have a "N/A" column, as I don't expect food or entertainment on a short-haul LCC flight. The flight time is just over an hour, so what am I supposed to say about entertainment? And why is there no row for "On time performance?" When I travel on an LCC, this is my only expectation (in addition to safety, of course). My only complaint about the HK Express flight was that I had to work hard to get the attention of the flight attendant to buy a bag of M&Ms
Pros: I cancelled this flight please stop sending me emails
Based in Hong Kong, HK Express specifically targets the East Asian region with a range of direct services. Among the countries with the most routes are Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is a founding member of the U-FLY Alliance and partnered with Chinese carriers West Air, Lucky Air, and Urumqi Air to establish a wide-reaching network. The alliance made waves in the aviation industry, becoming the world’s first low-cost association.
Commencing operations in 2004, HK Express became Hong Kong’s first low-cost airline. Onboard amenities, such as complimentary meals and snacks, are not provided; however, they can be purchased before or during a flight. It is a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific and has benefited from the wide-spread resources that the boutique carrier has.
While the majority of seats in the cabin are Economy, some are reserved for Premium Economy. Economy seats offer roughly 28 in of legroom and are configured in a 3 x 3 layout. This means you may want to upgrade to Premium Economy or pay for seat reservation if you want to avoid sitting between two people. All passengers are permitted a carry-on bag weighing no more than 7 kg (approximately 15 lb) and a personal item.
Exclusively Airbus aircraft are flown by HK Express. The fleet is tailored to short-distance flights and includes both A320 and A321 models. The seating arrangements allow between 180 and 230 passengers to travel on each service. A sleek purple design is painted on the planes, which features a silhouette of Hong Kong city’s skyline. Many of the aircraft in the fleet are named after traditional dishes, such as milk tea (Lai Cha), noodles (Sanuki Udon), chicken wings (Tebaski), and rice noodle rolls (Coeng Fan).
