The car wasn't ready when I got there. I had to wait 30 minutes for it. But the man at the desk offered to buy me coffee and a donut at a Tim Horton's while I waited. The return at Quebec City went well. The man at the counter was very nice and acomodating.

On nous a forcé à prendre des assurances en nous faisant peur. Personne pour le retour. Aucun contrôle. Pas reçu de mail pour l etat du véhicule comme convenu. Aucune nouvelle a ce jour du loueur.

Never got the car I booked tried to fob me off with a tesla. Poor staff, not interested in your needs. No desire to ever use hertz again, canceled and booked with budget, who were most accommodating.

we booked the car (80 CAD) on kayak with an extra insurance for 11 CAD, the price was supposed to be with fees and taxes. when we arrived at AVIS rental we were told (by a very rude personn) the fees and taxes were not included i and that the 11 CAD insurance we took on Kayak was not eligible . We had to pay an extra 50 CAD just for the insurance. TOTAL : 190 CAD instead of 90 CAD (but she made a discount of 20 CAD, so nice !) i don't recommend KAYAK nor AVIS to rent a car. drop off instructions were not clear. car was nice and clean.

Pick-up at 1225 Metcalf in Montreal was terrible. Poor area to load luggage. Was given no orientation concerning operating the car even when asked. Harassed by garage owner and Avis personnel. Area for car pick-up totally inadequate, Given wrong information by Avis personnel, Evenmorecomplaints

Pros:

Staff was very courteus even though they had some stress issue happening. But the lady chatted and managed two employees customers while helping me. BRAVO! They did not have midsize car that I had reserved so they put me in small SUV.

Cons:

Small SUV was a less fuel efficient. So ended up filling more gas before returning. Return was quick even though it was a Sunday night 9 pm.

Despite our reservation, Avis did not have a car for us when we arrived. After a wait, the only vehicle they could rent us was a truck that was huge and awful to drive. It had no trunk for our luggage. It was extremely difficult to drive and park in cities, especially historic areas we were going to i Montreal and Quebec City. It was awful.
