Wanted (and booked) a one day rental on Martha's Vineyard, MA. Checked the pick up location; close to the ferry. Excellent. I confirmed. The confirmation now switched to Falmouth, MA, where I live. Was supposed to pick up the car on Gifford St. on the Vineyard. NOT Gifford St. in Falmouth. Can't cancel through Hertz; "gotta go through Kayak". Kayak says "no refunds or cancellations, gotta go through Hertz". Horribly run company. Never again using Kayak.8.0 Very Good

Personally, I think another sign or two marking the location of the office would be good. Also, I'm surprised how much pen and paper is involved. Speaking of pens, if they're going to require you to write mileage/fuel etc. on a piece of paper when you drop off, then there should be a pen in the car or next to the dropbox!9.6 Wonderful

The Avis rental office was unstaffed for 3 hours despite being open according to their hours and Avis customer service. Customer service could not get in touch with anyone who was supposed to be on shift. I was stranded there for 3 hours before having to book a hotel. Their only option for me was to take a 200 dollar Uber to Boston Logan Airport that Avis would not cover2.0 Poor
