Had a Tesla reserved. Was told at the desk that there were no Teslas at Budget. We ended up with a Hyundai Kona. Not very many charge stations in the area we were in but many available for Teslas. Will not rent an electric car in the future.
We booked with qeeq. It did not inform us which car rental company we got. We had to ask each car rental company to find out. We ordered a midsize and hope to get a decent economical car. We got a dodge charger. No one showed us how the car works as we are not familiar with it. The worst happened when we drove it. The disc brakes were either warped or something wrong with the suspension. The car rocked when we stepped on the brakaes. Then when we wanted to return the car, we found the location was not as what we requested, which was Boston Logan. Instead we had to drop off at Boston Bedford. Getting a Uber out was not easy and expensive.
I reserved a truck and called reservations to let them know I needed only a truck. If one was not available I would have to cancel my reservation. When I arrived at the Budget counter in Pittsburgh I was informed no trucks were available. After pressing them to double and triple check, I received a truck about 45 minutes later. It was filthy and once I left the airport and got on the highway I noticed the car pulled strongly to the right, so much so that I couldn’t take my eyes off of the road for even a second. I did not return, however, because I was told that was the only truck. Two days later I started the car and I received a “maintenance required” warning on the dash. I was unable to put three car in gear also. I called customer service, They said they would send a tow truck, I could ride back to the airport in the cab and pick up a new truck. However, I was located 90 minutes from the airport and it was 10pm. Finally they agreed to deliver a new truck. That arrived around midnight and quite honestly I just took the keys and went to bed. Upon opening the car the following morning, I could not even sit in the truck as it smelled horribly of cigarettes. I went to the store to buy air fresheners and used three entire cans. I tried to get in the car a few hours later and it was no better, so I called the reservation line again. They agree to send yet a third truck to me. They also agreed that my bill would be half of what my reservation was originally to cost. Finally, the new truck came a few hours later and although more mechanically sound, it was dirty also (stains on center console, mud on inside doors, etc). Once I returned the truck at the end of my trip the charges did it reflect any discount for my time, disappointment, cleaning supplies and as was promised. The Pittsburgh Airport budget needs to do a better job than this and I will not rent from them again.
Bad. Budget did not have the standard SUV that I booked. They forced me to choose between a pickup truck and a van. Both are unappealing and I did not book those. When asked why I was being forced to choose between the two, the Budget representative said they did not have any SUVs available. This was not accurate because when I went to the garage to pick up my vehicle, I saw some SUVs.
Easy pick-up, even though their computers went down & some things had to be done by hand, & drop-off was equally easy. Car was good. Just waiting for final receipt.
Too expensive
