Car rental at Larnaca Airport

Since all the car hire agencies have their desks inside the airport itself, all of the same amenities at the airport will be available to you. This means power outlets for charging devices, comfortable seating, toilets and baby care facilities, a children’s play area, duty free shopping and various cafes and bistros.

Obviously, a driver’s licence will be mandatory and must be always carried with you. Additionally, driver’s licences not printed in the Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. All drivers must be at least 21 years old and need to have held their driver’s licence for at least one, two, or sometimes three years depending on the driver's age and the car hire agency. Different vehicle types may have even higher driver age requirements. Agencies might also ask for a second form of ID. A credit or debit card might be required for a temporary charge to be held for potential fees.

When it’s time to say your goodbyes and return to the airport, you will either be required to park your hire car in the same parking area from where the car was picked up, or if the signs instruct, a designated parking spot for returns from your provider. A member of the agency will collect the keys, check that the car is in the same state as it was when you retrieved it (remember to document any damage you find) and check that you remembered to top up the fuel tank. If you are returning the car outside of the usual office hours, you will be required to put the keys into the specified drop box.
