Worst service
Pros: Regret choosing it Ended up missing a business deal. as no one showed up at the ticket counter. Airline agents were on Strike due to no payment of wages. Called the customer service line and it seemed like the call went through and I got hangedup on multiple time and had to find an ulternative route to my final destinations, which was the next day. Will never recommend the airline and it made me doubt book an international trip through kayak. Or its affiliates as there weren't very helpful with options for rebooking.

Cons: The flight was delayed for at least 5 hours, No Information about the delay was provided. My luggage was lost between Lagos and Port Harcourt during my flight to Nigeria and has not been found even as I returned to NY. I had one clothe on my back and nothing else. Then on my arrival at JFK, my 3 pieces of luggage did not arrive. They promised to contact me on Monday January 1st, but I have not heard from them. In summary: 1) lost one luggage between Lagos and PH and has not been found 2) Arrived JFK and my 3 pieces of baggage did not arrive with me.

Didn't inform us about 3-hour delay
Cons: The flight from Douala to Lagos delayed for three hours - which can happen on any airline - but the staff didn't bother telling us at check in. It's only when I arrived at the boarding gate and found that there were no staff there that I checked my boarding pass and realized the 3-hour delay. No updates as we were waiting, either. Delays happen, but at least keep the passengers informed!

Pros: I liked nothing
Cons: The flight was due to take off at 11:30pm. We were gathered at 9:30pm to a waiting area with no a/c or sitting space for all the passengers. I stood until 1am for the plane to be towed to the departure gate. Once on the plane my selected seat 23A did not recline. I was told by the stewardess it was an emergency seat. I insisted that was no the reason. She took more than 30 minutes to conclude the matter. If it had not have been for the other passenger seated who swapped seats with me it would have been a horrible 10.45hrs. The 1st meal provided on the flight was of poor quality. The rice had a burnt taste & chicken was soggy. I requested an extra soda the times from the same stewardess who stated the seat couldn't recline. on the third time she took 10 more to provide me with a soda can, which had a extended part. Indicating that the can had taken a hard fall. Instead of saying anything else. I accepted the soda. I will NEVER fly with this airline again. And right will I recommend it to anyone I know.

Arik Air is terrible
Pros: I liked very little. The food wasn't horrible and I liked that they provided us with blankets.
Cons: My flight was delayed about two hours. We were not informed about the reason for the delay, the airline is obviously extremely unorganized. Arik employees were clueless, barely helpful, and straight rude at times. We weren't even offered a food voucher or even a cup of water. Let's not even get started with the literally the worst entertainment system in the world of airlines. The screens were blank the whole 10 hour flight. Almost every person I know that has flown with Arik has experienced ridiculous delays and even unannounced cancellations. Not to mention the cockroach that was on my second flight from Lagos to Accra. I have no idea how this airline is surviving with this lack of training, professionalism, and customer service. I will never fly with Arik again.

Cons: Unfriendly crew. Small meal after half a day without food. The boarding was just a mess walking around the airport
AVOID THIS AILINE IF YOU HAVE AN IMPORTANT DEADLIN
Cons: Terrible customer service. Flight changes without any notice. Please avoid this airline if you have an important deadline to meet. They will cancel and change flights without any notice until the flight is full. They will never fly at 80% capacity. All seats has to be filled before they fly.
Pros: This is the best crew that I have encountered in many years of travelling.
Cons: The first leg of my return flight (Libreville to Lagos) was cancelled 3 times and I eventually had to purchase another return ticket with another airline for the first leg of my trip. When the flight was cancelled, the airline kept asking me to find friends or family to stay with. It took >4 hours for them to provide me a hotel and I did not get to the hotel until 12:30am when my flight had been scheduled for 4pm the previous day and cancelled at 8pm. The airline also told me that I would have to pay for my own food and that they would cover breakfast, which they thought might come with the room.
Cons: The food was not good, it may have been the worst airline food I have had in many years of traveling. There is very little diversity in the food provided and the muffins that were served many times throughout the flight were dry and had little flavour.
Flight Cancelled
Pros: Nothing. No flight.
Cons: Showed up three hours aheqd of departure time. By time of departure, NO Arik staff were on the scene. One hour after scheduled departure, a brave Arik staff member informed us the flight was cancelled for lack of fuel. We were rebooked for Tuesday, 72 hours later! No provisions were made for most passengers. Terrible. Now how to get a refund??

Pros: The process of making the reservation online seemed to work reasonably well.
Cons: An airline which fails to meet it scheduled commitments because of lack of fuel is not really inspiring. Information was not given out when one delay after another was announced. A flight that should have taken no more than 4 hours took more than 14 hours.
Accra - Lagos
Pros: Flight was on-time. The crew managed to serve a snack even though the flight lasted just 45 minutes.
Cons: Many of the seats are patched up with duct tape.
Friendly Staff and Convenient Flight
Pros: It's nice to have a direct flight. Crew was very fun and friendly. Nice little snack box served, though not enough. Check in and boarding process straightforward and easy.
Cons: Planes are aged and not clean enough for my liking. Crew did not come back to collect the trash.

Pros: Not much other than I'm glad they didn't mess up my meal request. It's truly sad that it's the only thing I could find positive to say...
Cons: You have to request water. They only bring drinks by during meals so if you are used to a drink cart coming several times on international flights, please be warned. Even a simple request (Can I have some warm water?) gets a 3 minute conversation, with my heavy American and his Nigerian accents, misunderstanding is bound to ensue because the flight attendant is giving you a soliloquy about what he needs to do to fulfill your request. Now if you know how noisy a cabin can get, why can't it be a yes or no answer. Now, have you had an international flight that does not have a movie, radio, some type of entertainment? The flight is over 10 hours from Lagos to JFK but nothing to occupy your time, especially when they tell you that you cannot use electronic devices, even in airplane mode for the entire flight. You have got to be kidding me. There were other issue I had, (a full flight with only two working lavatories, general lack of customer service, etc.) but I'm going to stop here.

Cons: The flight was delayed and we were notified about 15 minutes before we were supposed to take off.
Pros: The flight crew ran out of chicken meals. Now they were serving passengers beef meals. These passengers wanted chicken meals!! One of the latrine was NOT working therefore it was lock and out of used on the flight. All the DAMN profit the airport makes , they should have fixed the latrine before putting the flighti in to service!! The flight crew serve the meals with OUT gloves but they wore gloves when they collected the empty tray. The flight crew should wear gloves when serving and collecting trays. The LOUNGE at Lagos, Nigeria where lay over passengers are put should have the PRICE LIST FOR THE REFRESHMENTS and other snacks posted on the wall for all to see so as to avoid price hick/corruption/ stealing.
