The rate is very low but you have to insure your car trough them! In order not to take their insurance, which cost 10X the rent of the car, is to bring a letter signed by Credit Card company taking care of the insurance (not the Credt Card contract - a specific letter) & THEN they will charge the total price of the car until is return. It's very sad that they promote this car company - KAYAK please stop promoting them!3.2 Poor

Cons:
The car was dirty with multiple areas damaged at pickup. They marked all the damaged areas and told us we wouldn't be responsible for any of it. Since we rented in Mexico we bought all the extra insurance offered. When we returned the car they blamed us for some of the preexisting damage and told us the insurance didn't cover it. We have rented in Mexico many times before, never from Thrifty, and have never had issues. The cars were clean and damage free. The rental and insurance cost more than what was quoted at time if rental, but unfortunately when you are in Mexico you have no recourse to dispute.8.0 Very Good
