What a joke!
Pros: Absolutely nothing!
Cons: I arrived at St Louis on Oct, 10th @ 10:30 pm waiting for a dollar shuttle van to pick me up. No Dollar shuttle in site, went to the courtesy phone and called Dollar rent a car it rang and rang with no answer and then said thank you good buy and hung up on me. I tried this 5 times with the same results so I got on a Hertz shuttle van and had to get a car from them. Their Sevice was very good I am thankful they could help me out of a bad situation. I give Dollar rent a car a 0 or F for service and they have lost my business forever!

Don't waste my time
Cons: I didn't like that the desk clerk tried to upgrade me without telling me to almost double my charges. My grandfather was dying, I told the clerk this, and I still had to go through a whole upsale game. I plan to never use dollar again.

dirty and smoky
Pros: everyone is super friendly and there was nothing wrong with customer service.
The car was stained (all of the seats) and dirty inside and I am sensitive to smoke and could smell, at some point, someone smoked in it.

Don't let them know where you are going.
Cons: They would not rent me the vehicle because I had to travel more then one state over from the state I was renting the vehicle from. It was an emergency and was cheaper to rent then fly. Had to see my father-in-law one last time to say goodbye before he passes away.

MIXED RESULTS - THE GOOD THE BAD THE UGLY
Pros: UPON RETURN, DESK PERSON AND DRIVER WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING WHEN I WAS RUNNING LATE FOR MY FLIGHT.
Cons: PICK UP LOCATION FOR DOLLAR IS NOT WHERE ALL OTHER CAR RENTALS PICK UP. NO SIGNAGE FOR DOLLAR. WHEN ASKING FOR DOLLAR PICK UP LOCATION AT AIRPORT GOT WRONG ANSWER(S).
DRIVER WAS SYMPATHETIC, SAID HE HAS REPORTED PICK UP ISSUES TO MANAGEMENT MANY TIMES. DESK STAFF DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE MY COMMENT.
CAR WAS DIRTY (FRONT OF CAR HAD BUG STAINS AND DIRT)
HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING LOCATION ON GOOGLE FOR RETURN BECAUSE THE PAPERWORK SAID ST LOUS, BUT YOUR LOCATION IS IN SAINT ANN!!!!!
OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE SUCKED
LATER WHEN I MENTIONED THE PICK UP PROBLEM TO ANOTHER TRAVELER, THEY SAID THEY DON'T USE DOLLAR ANY MORE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUES (AMONG OTHERS?)
Pros: Car was, reliable and handled well. It was also clean.
Cons: I also rented from Thrifty a GPS and did they did not give me an adequate way to set the GPS in the car while I drove. I literally had to drive and hold it.

Pros: Fast service. Didn't have to wait for the shuttle at the airport. Quick trip on the shuttle to the rental lot. Fast service once there. Was on my way in a few short minutes. Upon returning the car, I was given a receipt almost immediately, and the shuttle driver was ready and waiting to take my family and me to the airport.

Cons: Picked up car after dark. Car was parked behind facility with no lighting. Inspected car with flashlight, but in the morning saw damage I had missed on bumper and another area. When I explained this issue upon returning the car, personnel did not note it or seem to care. Also Maintenance Required light came on second day of rental.

Very friendly staff
Pros: This was a great experience all around for me. As a 75 year single woman, I was a bit nervous about the routes to take for my journey. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The car was a great fit for me, clean, comfortable and in perfect running condition. I had no worries and would use Thrifty again. It was also a pleasant surprise that the rate was lower at the desk than the one I was given online.
Cons: Airport directional markings to the Thrifty rental car location were good at first, but at the crucial spot where the road split, I was unable to see (it was night) any further directional markings to guide me to the location. I guessed and chose the wrong way and ended up driving through dark neighborhoods directed by my GPS. It was a relief to finally arrive at the Thrifty agency which is actually quite close to the airport. I drove around for about 20 minutes trying to locate it after a long day's drive. .
Pros: The vehicle provided plenty of space for my visiting daughter and family of 4 plus my husband and me. It was easy to pick up and drop off after hours. It was clean and had no issues.

Pros: The first problem was my reservation was for 10am. I arrived at 10:45 am and my car was still not ready. Finally around 11:45 which was an hour and 45 mins. late they got a car. They did knock off a little bit of money, but when they ran my debit card they told me they could not take my debit card. It was a mess....I left and went to Enterprise who got me a car that day, it was cheaper, and I had no problem with my debit card!

Cons: We were given the wrong vehicle, and never told that they changed our drop off time. They did make it right at the Airport Budget, but the first one where we got the car was ridiculous. I don't think Mike knew what he was doing. When I called to tell him about the mistakes, he blamed me for arriving before my reservation time.

Cons: I think the problem was with Kayak and then Budget made it worse.
I went online with kayak and put in to rent a car at St. Louis Airport and not just ST. Louis in general. (STL) All car rentals at STL are off site on a nearby road. Being an out of towner I did not know the address of the car rental. I just got on the shuttle at the airport as I always do in St. Louis and it dropped me off at Budget. I was halfway through my processing when the agent tells me that Kayak had the car at a Budget rental in a hotel on the other side of down and not the airport. I was annoyed but I needed the car so I asked if someone could take me there or would I have to take a cab. She told me that it was closed and they were not open on Sundays. I double checked and she was right. THEY ARE NEVER OPEN ON SUNDAYS so why would Kayak book a rental that would be impossible to pick up? Please tell me! Budget told me they would have to start a whole new reservation and I would have to pay $350 more which was just shy of double the price I had procured. I refused to be "robbed" like that and told them I would make other arrangements even if I had to pay that amount I would not pay Kayak or Budget. I quickly got a car with Enterprise who treated me wonderfully and I paid the same price that I was suppose to pay originally. Unfortunately, Enterprise was located 1/2 mile away on the same road and Budget made me carry all my luggage back to the airport to get the Enterprise Shuttle. Did I mention that they passed by the Enterprise Agency on the way back to the airport? Did I mention I was not a raving customer but a quiet but firm one? Did I mention that I was also a 66 year old woman traveling alone to teach a college course and had 4 pieces of very heavy luggage with books that I need for the course? I will mention that I will never rent from Budget or Avis who happens to own Budget.

Cons: I booked a car at one location for a specific price. That location was going to be closed so they sent me to a different location that wouldn't honor price. After many phone calls and much yelling now I have to wait for a refund of the money I was over charged. A nightmare

Wrong enterprise location
Cons: This Enterprise was 40 minutes from the airport with no shuttle. The airport shuttle took us to the one in Berkley that was 5 minutes from the airport and had the shuttle. The taxi alone would have been more than the car rental

Horrible, need my money back
Pros: The enterprise that kayak selected to use was not the same location that the airport takes you to with their shuttle. Therefore I had to rent a completely different car from the airport enterprise or try to figure out some way to get 40 minutes away where the reservation was. Kayak should know that the airport shuttle does not go to the location that was selected and that it would be extremely difficult to get there without knowing a lot about that area. I didn't get to use my kayak reservation and because of kayak I had to rent 2 cars essentially and only used one. Please don't waste my money and refund my reservation.

Cons: I was treat very poorly. I was asked to provide to two references, after I them my bank card, drives lic, proof of comprehensive Insurance and I rent cars all over US and EUROPE. I have never experienced this type of treatment and I am a local business man.
Pros: I arrived very late at 3am and a car was ready for me to pick up. When returned, the process was very efficient and only took a few minutes with a shuttle ready to take me to the airport. I will rent from Hetrz again and KYAK rocks.
Cons: They should have a few more clear EXIT signs around the lot. I was a bit confused as to how to make my way out of the lot.

St Louis office needs help
Pros: Car had a nice large trunk. Reasonable gas mileage.
Judy in the Hertz billing office was able to adjust my bill to the agreed upon KAYAK rate after I returned the car. Thank you, Judy. (See next box for complaint)
Cons: Pickup experience in St Louis was dreadful. I had a new agent who was inexperienced and couldn't figure out how to give me the rate on my KAYAK reservation, and the location manager didn't respond to her requests for assistance. We were running late and needed a car, so she rented me a car at a "walk up" rate which was about $200 more than I had been quoted.

Worst Car Rental Ever
Cons: I rented with Hertz through Kayak. I asked for rental at St. Louis Airport. The car was not at airport. They wanted to charge us an extra $200. We took Uber to actual site. A car was not ready. They washed a car for us to take. They hassled us about "add ons".

slow check in
Cons: Check in took too long, over 40 minutes for a confirmed reservation and I was only customer when I walked in. Staff tried hard to sell me multiple insurances. At turn in location, computers were down.
Pros: Car was clean and gassed up, ran fine, and was comfortable.
Cons: Cars were too tightly packed in the lot to be able to see all that were available, and getting them out was a challenge. The return area does not well indicate where to go at the STL airport location.

Cons: I didn't like the fact that I noticed there was no spare tire in the trunk. If something were to have happened to us and we needed to change the tire we would have been left stranded in another city/state that is unfamiliar to us. I informed two people at drop off that there was no spare but I'm not sure if or what was done. I just wouldn't want someone to need it and one not be available for use.

Pros: Great experience. From the ticket counter at the airport, super friendly and helpful lady Friday, Sept 30 @ 1:145-ish on through to the shuttle back to the airport. We had to return the car early because Hurricane Matthew shortened our trip. There was no hassle and no gimmicks about early returns and partial refund, etc.
Cons: The van would have been nice with an exterior thermometer and a compass. Other than that great.

It's pretty self-serve
Pros: I liked the car that I picked out. There was one employee that was very nice and helpful.
Cons: There wasn't a person to help me get the car. There was only a kiosk and when I had a problem with the kiosk, the employee there only spoke to me from across the room. I had to go find my own car, move another one to get the car I wanted and be unsure of what I was doing the entire time.

Cons: The car was a last minute rental due to a flight cancellation resulting in travel changes, and was a little pricey. Car was nice but could have been cleaner...I ended up buying an air freshener!

They truly tried .
Pros: We came in on Christmas Day and there was a shortage of cars with flights delayed and rerouted passengers. So their systems were skewed with last minute changes. They worked so hard and were honestly trying to do their best to please so many frustrated customers. We appreciated their efforts through the hectic process and pleased that they were able to provide a car for us through all their confusion.
Cons: The car was very tiny. Seemed smaller than the Ford Focus they compared it to. It was also a little worn

Pros: they accommodated me by giving me a higher grade vehicle.
Cons: I paid for a traverse and the Avis rep tried to give me a minivan. He also was not going to budge. He gave me back my license and credit card after said I could go elsewhere. My problem is i prepaid for my traverse and he did not care. I was not going to stand for that and therefore i started making phone calls to other rent a car places. My husband spoke with the rep and he finally tried to give us a Ford 4wd or an expedition.

Pros: I drove 44 miles. I picked up a car that didn't have a full gas tank however I would be penalized if I returned in the same condition.
