Pros: Smooth pickup/dropoff process at the desk
Cons: Was initally unclear where the car was located and to be dropped off at, but was able to figure it out eventually.

Cons: It was 9 pm and I had a reservation and they did not had rented all there cars. Never will book with dollar or kayak again taking app of phone. Not reliable or helpful

Cons: They had no cars available even though I booked online. They then required me to go to another company, pay double the rate and then mail the paperwork in to get a refund. I had to do all the work for their mistake. The desk attendant/manager was then very rude about the situation.

Great value on a one way rental!

Cons: Front tires were bald and car had 46k miles. Had to drop off at an alternate airport b/c of winter storm Jonas. I notified Dollar in advance of the change and was told an approximate amount of 2.5x over the initial premium to drop at another airport. Nothing like gouging stranded travelers. Dropped at airport with no employee on duty b/c of snowy weather. Haven't been able to get a final bill for the changes. Emailed 3 times and no response after 1 week+. Called customer support and was told a receipt would be shipped within 24 hours...that was four days ago.
Extremely frustrating to deal with and disappointed with overall experience. Can hardly wait to get $1200 bill for 5 day rental of compact car.

They saved me from myself
Pros: I was careless with the dates and long story short almost reserved the car for two weeks instead of three days! Fortunately the lady at the desk pointed out the mistake and we were able to get the right dates (there may have been a $10 charge for this but that's better than cancelling me altogether). New, clean car. Hassle free.

Quick service, pick of cars, easy return
Pros: The cars were parked right outside the door. The agent said what cars were available and gave me my choice of three different ones. The car was clean, low miles, and had a full tank of gas. Simple enough, but increasingly not a given with other rental companies. Oh, and their price was the lowest available.
Cons: They ask you to self-report your milage upon return, which I am never going to remember to do.
Cons: My rental ended up costing waaaaay more than originally quoted. I travel ever week and the ONE time I use a personal card to pay for a trip it is 3 or 4x the original cost.

Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Hidden sales tax of 22.5%. Not in Kayak quote and according to my research not the law in Arkansas. Tried to resolve over the phone and Avis rep totally useless. Second bad experience in a row with Avis. Never again!

If price is the factor, this is your car
Pros: Basically I liked the car, and the price was good.
Cons: You get what you pay for, this was the cheapest car available, but it had nothing except air conditioning. It would have been great had the car had cruise control.
Pros: Pick up and drop off service was excellent. Car was clean and in good shape.
Cons: This model of vehicle is very uncomfortable to drive and the eco-power system was annoying. The gas mileage was poor.

Cons: i had signed up to get a specialty car not at wild card car which is what i got. I feel that is was a bait and switch and they gave me a compact car which i was not happy with or what i wanted I could of gone somewhere else and gotten a better deal.
Cons: The van was dirty. When I called to let them know they offered to clean it but I was already home and didn't want to go back. I ended up cleaning it at home. It had chunks of mud inside the van. It looked like someone had taken the mini van off roaring. If I could give a zero for cleanliness, I would.
The windshield was dirty and had chips in it. When I called they said it was from a hail storm. I get it, they can't control the storm. But they can fix the issue prior to renting out the car. Wipers were in terrible shape and there was no windshield washer fluid. Car handled poorly at highway speeds. Needs at minimum balance if not alignment. Tires are wearing abnormally and the van pulls to one side. The antenna on the radio didn't work. And despit stating it had satellite radio, it didn't.
When I told the agent at return, he didn't really seem to care or want to remedy it. They did give me $50 credit for cleaning the van.
I will not rent from Hertz again.
