Pros: The lady helping me felt bad and gave me a 12 dollar discount.
Cons: I rented the car at a price given to me on the website from the Tuscon airport Enterprise. When I went to pick up the car, the price was much much higher. I asked why, they said it was because the car I rented was from a downtown location that didn't include airport tax fees which were around 75-100 dollars. I specifically asked for a car from the Tuscon airport. In order to get the car for the price I wanted I would have to take a cab 25 minutes into the city. False advertisement.

Pros: not much
Cons: The rental was a $30 cab fare from the airport. I should have looked closer at the deal but Kayak should have been clearer that the rental store was so far away.

5 hour wait!
Pros: The car was nice. Check out was easy.
Cons: I waited 5 hrs for a car I had pre ordered. There was only one person who knew what was going on and 15 people in the lobby waiting. After receiving my car they charged me for an upgrade (because it was all they had available). After waiting 5 hours the least they could have done was not charged me for the upgrade. Over all awful experience!

Courteous and quick
Pros: Receptionist was quick and thorough -- no patronization. Two or three servicemen greeted us immediately and got us going within minutes.

A/C in Arizizona didn't work on the highway
Pros: Renal in Tuscon was great. Very friendly, helpful.
Cons: The A/C was working great when I left Tucson, but as I went North to Phoenix, the air flow started getting very week and it started getting very hot inside the car. I was thinking I would need to pull over. When I got off the freeway and back into city driving, the air started to flow again. Not a great experience for Arizona driving. The temp was 99F.

Car was not at airport as expected; it was in town
Cons: I thought I was reserving car pickup at airport but found out the reservation was for an intown location. Since I did not know address of Tucson airport I had no way of knowing that I was reserving at site several miles from airport. Airport personnel told me this happens to people all the time who reserve through Kayak

Pros: The young man that assisted me with picking up the car in Tuscon was very professional and friendly too.
Cons: The windows inside the car were so dirty that I had to stop and by some window cleaner.
Cons: Tax that was being charged at the Airport was not included in the price listed on Kayak. We were really shocked to find out how much the total would be with the tax added.

Hyundai Accent from Dollar Rent A Car
Pros: Rented an Accent for a short stay in Tucson. Great little around town car. Dollar's computers were down when we arrived, but they had us on our way in 15 minutes even doing everything by hand.
Cons: The only negative was that the car was a little difficult to see out of to the rear. Pretty typical for a sub-compact.

Cons: Agent, without telling me, tried to up grade me. The cost went from $135 to $265. Fortunately I noticed and insisted on the $135 rate. He then tried for something about 1/2 way between. I again insisted on the quoted rate and got it. You have to pay attention!

DO NOT rent a car from Dollar Rent A Car located i
Pros: NOT A THING!
Cons: This place is a joke. I was told that I had rented a compact car and the Dollar agent kept trying to upgrade me. After each upgrade offer, I asked if he was offering it at the rental price that I had been originally quoted ($90.88). Of course not! After about 20 minutes of my back-and-forth with the agent, my husband went to the National Car Rental counter next door and rented a 2016 Dodge Journey for the same amount of the Dollar "compact" car. What a crappy way to conduct business, Dollar.

Pros: reasonably cheap
Cons: Car was streaked with dirty water, some water spots/dirt inside the cabin also. Price was much more than originally quoted (almost double)

Our worst experience ever
Pros: When we picked up our car they told us that the kayak insurance we were given was no good we had to get extra insurance that amounted to way way more… Then when we return the car, they ask for a receipt for gas. We didn't have the receipt but they could see that we returned it with a full tank, yet they insisted they had to charge us for gas without a receipt. We were tired and angry as we have been on the road for 3 1/2 week . We will never ever rent from dollar again. And would hope that kayak could return our insurance money which was not accepted

Pros: I was never told I needed to purchase extra insurance. I was only given the choice of what package. The cheapest was still three times the amount of the car.

Cons: Car offered was not as advertised- offer showed a standard car but was advised the offer was only good for a compact. Will avoid dollar when possible in the future.

Pros: the price is good and the service is pretty standard (meaning, quite comparable to other rental car companies that charge more).
Cons: the car was new, but crappier than other low end options at other car rental agencies. also, insurance cost way more than renting the car itself, which stinks.
Pros: Flight cancelled, so the reservation was cancelled. Budget handled the cancellation well - good customer service.

Pros: once I was checked in, all was good.
Cons: When the counterperson would not take debit cards, each of the three people ahead of me in line took 10-15 min to process (and this was at 11 p.m. and I was tired)...Please notify folks that they cannot use their debit card (unless they want to stand there for 10 min. while a credit check is run and creates a negative score on their credit report) OR accept the debit card like the rest of the world.

Only talk to Trent if you rent a car from here!!
Pros: Everyone that worked here was checked out and didn't seem to care about customer service, except Trent. To make matters worse the 'regional manger' there texting on his phone, not helping people in line waiting. Trent saw we needed help with an issue with our rental car and immeditaely stepped up, re did all our paper work, and explained everything we needed to know about renting a car (this was our first experience). Thanks Trent, we will be back to this location because of you!!
Cons: Impersonal employees, lazy regional manager, employee (Morgan) did not explain what rental insurance was well enough and the car I rented was parked less than an inch away from the 1.5 foot high curb. Morgan did the walk around and never offered to pull the car out since it was so close- we couldn't even see if there was any damage done to that side since it was parked so close but we all figured it was ok. The car was scratched while I was pulling it out and since Rental insurance wasn't exaplined to me I have to pay out of pocket for damages. I had to get another car. Hertz explanation was 'yeah it was really close'. This is where Trent came in to help us out and we re rented a car with rental insurance after he throughly explained it to us, thanks again Trent!

Pros: The gas mileage. I made my trip from Tucson to El Paso without having to stop for gas.
Cons: The car I rented had the rubber in the door frame and trunk falling apart. There was a hole in the carpet on the driver's side. The car itself has no pick up. I could not adjust the seat enough to make it comfortable for my 5 hour drive from Tucson to El Paso.

Staff needs to know their inventory better
Pros: I was able to make changes to our reservation relatively easily
Cons: The fact that I had to make changes to our reservation. I needed a car that would fit the bicycle crate I was traveling with (47"x 30.5" x 10.5 "), which is very easy for any car that has back seats that fold down. Making the reservation on-line, however, I decided to play it safe and reserve a small SUV. I made a mistake in my reservation (for which I'm completely responsible), and needed to change it a couple of days beforehand. This was relatively simple, but upon arrival at the airport the agent looked at the bike box and said no way it would fit in the car we reserved, and up-sold us to a $1000 SUV. I told her any small car (I drive a small BMW) would work, as long as it has back seats that fold down. She claimed not to know if any of their cars have back seats which fold down. After a lengthy process, in which I had to figure things out on my own, since the staff didn't know their inventory, I got a Ford Focus, which worked fine. This all would be easier if the staff were as well trained in their inventory as they are in asking the question, "What brings you to Phoenix, today?"(which we heard every staff member ask every person they greeted, like following a script).

Kia Rio- not impressed with the car.
Pros: Easy pick up and return, good gas mileage, good pick up when driving.
Cons: They gave us a Kia Rio, not impressed, I would never buy one. The gas consumption was good and it had power but the seats are so low in it that we all three (over 65) had a hard time getting in and out of the car. One of the ladies is 83 and short and she couldn't even see over the dash board. As the driver you can not see the front or the rear of the car from the drivers seat and I am tall. The car wasn't swept out well before we got it. The price I paid thru your company was more than I would have paid thru their company directly. But the insurance with your company was less.

No pickup/drop off at airport
Cons: We called for a pickup and they said we had to take a taxi. We asked why, everyone else who was off site picked up customers and had drop off. They said their service saved you money by eliminating on site charges. OK so you don't pay onsite charges, but you pay high taxi charges, have to add extra time when returning to airport because you have to get another taxi to get to airport. I ended up NOT using this rental and used the onsite Rental. Enterprise Rentals were so much better, Great customer service, Very outgoing. Never again AVIS

Pros: Great service, good car = great vacation.
Cons: It's really too bad that the airport location charges more for their cars.
Cons: Nobody at the service desk when we arrived
Nobody "checked out the car" so damages could not get recorded

Denied rental over a debit card and accused of att
Cons: I did not like being accused of fraud and having a manager insinuating I was a car thief. Renting a smart car for three days to travel between Tucson and Phoenix does not seem to be a likely profile for thieves but I wouldn't know. All in front of my 13 yo son. Producing a printed itinerary is not a substantial security measure. Because my itinerary did not fit a profile I was rudely left to find other options and then during another attempt to rent from enterprise the same manager appeared from behind a door and interrupted my transaction and told the employee I was attempting to defraud them. Not true. I will NEVER EVER RENT FROM ALAMO OR THE SISTER COMPANIES EVER AND I WILL DO MY DAMNDEST TO RELATE MY EXPERIENCE TO OTHERS. Alamo is lucky not to be facing litigation about the suggestion by your management that I was attempting to obtain goods or services under false pretenses with the intention of theft or malfeasance.

Pros: Drop and pickup convenient
Cons: Car smelled bad and was forced to upgrade because fiesta was to small. Escort was not available and had to go with a VW jetta.

Pros: I got in and out quickly at both pick-up (TUS) and drop-off (PHX) locations.
Cons: I was overcharged for the amount of gas I used, and the car was not clean (dust and dirt was noticeable on the dash and in various side and cupholder compartments, the floors were dirty and worn down, there were multiple stains on the seats, and the exterior was unclean).
