Beautiful pool and nice bar When I checked into my room there were no beds!! I had to wait over an hour for a different room to be available. When I finally got a room, It did not appear to be clean. All of the appiences were unplugged and I cut myself on the mini fridge handle
For the price, you can't beat the amenities: large continental breakfast spread, pool, hot tub, fridge & microwave, ample nearby parking, 24-hour grocery store across the street. However, the wifi is basically useless. And the hotel is old, with peeling wallpaper and the like. But it's cheap, so you get what you pay for here.
We booked the weekend her because it was $20 cheaper than anything else with a pool. By the time we checked out I would have paid $100 extra for a hotel that's not falling apart!
Close to hospital and restaurants. Has a pool which was indoor and warm. Has a fitness center. Free breakfast. Bathtub appears new, but the shower head was very old and crappy. This building needs either a complete renovation or a tear down. Carpeting in hallways is so old it is heavily stained and worn. Room smelled strongly of cigarettes, likely still the same carpet from many years ago when people could smoke in hotels. TV reception was poor, and they are using SD CRT but signal is HD - can't see at least 1/3 of the picture. walls on the inside portion of the outside wall had many holes from decay, water damage, etc. fitness room has a treadmill that worked fine, an eliptical and 2 bikes, one with a broken strap that flops around. Has a weight machine but only half of it works. Saunas didn't seem to work either. Breakfast was the same stuff every day, edible but not great. There is a bar there, but it was never open while I was there.
Price Bathroom fan was not functioning.
the building design is unique, for the money the continental breakfast was great , waffles, good breakfast sauge, french toast ect. i did not use the pool area but it was really nice- not a water park but great for a family and the price is right there was really not much i did not like, but i always wonder why motels do not have exhaust fans in the bathroom. this goes for all motels
Very friendly staff, clean hotel, nice security, and surprisingly cozy and heavenly beds and linens. My husband and I were just there for work and the Inn was a convenient location, but we ended up really enjoying our time there. I woke up early and took a quiet walk around the beautiful historic square and then came back for a quiet, warm swim in their pool. Everything was very peaceful, clean, and well-thought out. Breakfast was great, too!
Close proximity to the ski hill/resort. Way too many children. We wanted to relax after a day of skiing in the hot tub, only to find that there were 15-20 children swimming in the hot tub. There is also a very big pool for them to swim in. Parents were not attentive and let the kids take over any area they wanted, including the hot tub all night, as well as let them run wild in the hallways early in the morning (6am it started). I called the front desk and they didn't seem to be helpful at all. Will not be staying here again.
I arrived around 12:30 and was told check out had only been "28 minutes ago" and that there was not a clean room yet since they were full the night before. I had only booked a room as a place to get ready for an event I had and a place to sleep for a couple hours. I went and got some food for about an hour and checked back. She still wouldn't give me a room stating she didn't want to put me in a dirty room. Somehow I doubt there was not a single clean room at that point. Unless your housekeepers aren't doing their jobs, it does not take hours to clean a room. She said it was guaranteed check in at 3pm. So I went and changed and put on makeup in their public bathroom since I had to go for soundcheck. I came back at about 3:15 and another girl stated my room was still not ready. She did however "find a clean room" for me. Now, maybe it's just me, but if you know someone is waiting around for a room, wouldn't you have your housekeeping staff clean whichever room you intended to put me in? On top of that, the attitude of this girl was poor. She was short with me as well as being annoyed. I wish I could give her an excuse and say I was rude, but I wasn't. The girl who finally got me a room was much more accommodating.
some reviews say this hotel is in need of updating. Yes the hotel is older but I found it to be clean, the carpet is newer and the rooms are fine. And I stay at a lot of hotels (not motels) in a given year and They no longer have the fitness center on location, you need to drive to use a local one. NOT FUN WHEN WINTER COMES AND YOU HAVE TO GET INTO A COLD CAR AT 5:30AM TO GO WORK OUT. It takes so little to have one at the hotel.
cheap, clean...at least the rooms are relatively clean, and the beds are decent. It's hard to complain much when the price is so reasonable, but the have a "business center" where the computer has no internet access; there is also a sign that reads, "if you need supplies, paper, stapler..." they are located at the desk. If you wait long enough at the front desk, a terse employee informs you that they have no supplies. Also, the next morning I discovered the refrigerator in the room did not work, which only ruined a few perishables.
Breakfast is significantly better than a standard Super 8 breakfast, indoor pool and spa are nice and open 24 hrs. Strange rules about parties in rooms and going places. Some sketchy vibes from the staff. Maids did not make either bed one day because we left a pair of pants on one.
The location was good. Easy on off the highway. Wish we could of been treated more like guests and not like we were an inconvenience.
Ordered a room but snow storm cut the trip short. We needed to stay at another hotel room but couldn't due to already having booked a room. Forced on a dangerous journey back home in treacherous driving conditions. When requested to cancel reservation, super 8 declined to honor the request. What a shoddy bunch of money grabbers. Policy for cancellation
Price Room wasnt cleaned as well as I would have like, tub didn't drain while showering, and drain was broke . I would recommend for the price but cleanliness should be considered
Comfortable and easily accessible to highways and other areas. Very odd to have a jacuzzi in the main area of the room. There was not enough space for all people during breakfast to sit down and enjoy.

great breakfast, relaxed atmosphere, very nice place
I thought I had a jacuzzi suite. For $--- I could have found a different room!!Then when I questioned it I was treated rudely!
Location Day staff was great! Night staff was a left a little to be desired.
The pool was quite nice with pool toys which our kids found fun. I expected a Hampton Inn to be really clean and nice...especially for the high price tag, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the Holiday Inn Express we stayed at 2 days before for way less! Breakfast area was cramped, and tons of styrafoam = bad for enviro.

Everything was so clean! The beds were so comfortable and the showers were perfect. It was the best continental breakfast we have had at a hotel. There was an attendant at all times keeping foods filled and hot. The staff was so friendly and accommodating Loved everything!
Front Desk attendant and wait staff at breakfast were very friendly. Location/parking/proximity to food & attractions were good. 1st room smelled like someone had vomited in it. Front desk was helpful, quickly giving us a new room. 2nd room smelled like it had beer all over the carpet and bedding. We didn't want to complain again and dealt with it. Bathroom wasn't cleaned well
Very service-oriented and accomodating. Also loved the free coffee/ tea bar in the lobby.
Basic but clean accommodations, free breakfast and close proximity made it easy to hit the slopes at granite peak early. Also close enough to get to downtown restaurants. Plus La Quinta is always dog friendly so we could bring the pooch along as well.
Pet friendly. Comfortable bed. Wall thermostat with accurate temp control. Coffee in room. Convenient parking. Reliable maid service. Fridge and microwave were handy. Signs of aging. Stingy with towels. Small towels. Sink drain slow. Tub faucet mostly stuck. Tub and toilet in a cramped side room. Many smokers in a nonsmoking facility. No eggs or meat for breakfast. Recliner chair broken, would not fold up.
The Wausau La Quinta completely met my expectations - welcoming, clean, and comfortable - without overselling itself. The bed was wonderful, I think there were 5 or 6 pillows and the mattress was very comfortable. Temperature in room was easily regulated. Restaurants near by. Pretty thin walls - turned on the bathroom fan to mute the conversation happening next door.
Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. Bathroom was clean, but very dated.
ice macine was too loud
Liked that the hotel was located right off the highway as we were just stopping to sleep on our travels further north. The staff was friendly, and we did take advantage of the pool. Liked that there was a Texas Roadhouse within the parking lot. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, so I can't rate that. Overall, it was a good value for the price. The stairway to the 2nd floor smelled bad, but we didn't have that once we got to the room. While the sheets were definitely clean, one of the sheets did have a stain on the second bed.
Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful.
The price was great! The newly renovated rooms were excellent. My daughter and I stayed one night so she could run the half marathon in the morning. The location was perfect an we walked from the hotel to the run location which was only a couple blocks away! We didn't need a frig, microwave, breakfast or pool so it was just perfect for overnight
The high-end surroundings and beauty were wonderful. The patio (accessed by the room's patio door) and the yard were very pleasant and somewhat private. The office was temporarily in one of the rooms and was so cluttered and disorganized, it kind of took away confidence in your stay, but it was a necessary problem during remodeling. The fellow who managed was working many days in a row (36 I think he said) and seemed to need more help.
I really like the proximity to Granite Peak and they have a great outdoor hot tub.
Location just off golf course and ski area was ideal. Even if you are not interested in those sports, the lodge is on a side street and surrounded by greenery. Quiet with patio or balcony for each room, outdoor picnic area, spa and sauna. In very good shape and some areas being renovated (which should be done soon and didn't interfere with our stay). Stayed there going on a trip and liked it enough that we stayed there on he way back.
