Pros:Incredibly energy efficient (no waste here!) while at the same time beaitiful and professional. Everything felt solid, well-built and well designed. No waste here - you will find no lush common areas or anything extravagant. But what it does, it does extremely well: we slept like kings, had luxuriant long showers, amenities were perfect, front desk was helpful and attentive, breakfast was delicious and the coffee was awesome. Perfect to use as a crash pad while touring Japan!
Cons:They could improve their room service options. Also, while I understand the target market is mainly locals, they should aim to hire staff with a bit more foreign language proficiency. This would be fair - people who go through the trouble of learning a foreign language should be rewarded with a good job at APA.

Pros:VERY close to subway station that will switch from subway/train (No change of train) to get you to/from NRT for about $12. (as long as you don't pick rush hours there is plenty of room for you to hold your luggage near you). Not in a prime area of town so you will have to walk min 1-2miles or hop on a subway to get somewhere more popular. Nice area though, quiet and easy to get around. I stayed in Shinjuku the first few nights and loved the walk-ability. Then I did about 5 days of traveling Japan. I chose this hotel on my way back because of the price and access to stations. I was nervous about getting back to NRT. You can quickly get to the train station for the express train, but planned right, it doesnt take much longer to take the one right outside of the hotel.
Cons:The rooms are tiny, but I knew that going in. Considering I had no intention of spending much time in the room I wasn't too concerned. The pillows are VERY flat, it would be nice if they would throw in a secondary option. The only thing Im not a big fan of with the APA hotels is that once you leave your room (and take the card out of the slot) the lights and electricity turn off. This means that you cannot leave devices charging when you are outside of your room. There are also very few electrical outlets available in general.. so if you want to dry your hair while charging items you may have to swap them out.
