Fabulous location and great service from the staff. Unfortunately our sleep was spoiled by the Irish Pub down the street being open late and very noisy patrons echoing despite closed windows until 4am.
Warm, homely ambience and excellently kept. I have been staying at your hotel for the past 5 years and the overall upgrade is excellent. No negatives to report.
Great Position Breakfast a bit expensive
Everything except below. The selection of food in the restaurant and the attitude of the restaurant were poor.
The hotel offers fantastic rooms and is located next to all the tourist places. There is no parking lot nearby and the hotel doesn't have its own parking garage. The closest parking lot is 5 min walk from the hotel which is quite uncomfortable.
Welcome, level of comfort and service were excellent. Position in town centre could not be bettered.
It was amazing vacation in ancient and splendid Altstadt with luxurious service! Our gratitude to this hotel! Special thanks to Fabian Haberle!
the site, the staff my daughter had an extrabed which was awful (the worst bed I have ever seen)
The room was beautiful, the location was fantastic and the hotel staff was very nice. We would stay there again!
the location poor rooms, no air conditioning, old building, smelly and noisy neighbor .
Excellent service and cleanliness and proximity to city centre - out of back door of hotel into main street, yet hotel quiet. Parking - very very difficult to get parking and Hotel not easy to locate because bus lane outside - buses often blocking hotel as one drives past.
Mr. Reinhold helped us get amazing ticket to the symphony the day of the show. He was thoughtful in organizing a private tour and directing us around the city so that we didn't waste time or miss the hidden gems. Truly exceptional service!
The Hotel Sacher was a charming hotel with an interesting history. We did lots of walking and It was conveniently located to shopping, site seeing and restaurants. The staff was great and very helpful during our stay. In the evenings we enjoyed having cocktails in the bar while listening to pianist play. The Hotel Sacher is a great place to stay!!
kitchen, interior design, service, clearness
The location and the friendliness of the hotel staff. The rooms were quite dusty and old. In fact, we came to know (from the management) that only some rooms were renovated and not all unlike what was stated in the booking.com website. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet wasn't really a 5-star hotel standard.
always available, always ready to assist rooms are small and it is always a fight to get a room with a view
Sacher Hotel, location is perfect for touring Altstadt Salzburg. Junior suite was impeccable, and well furnished, entire staff most friendly and helpful, and service worthy of a five star boutique hotel. Absolutely, nothing.
The service Incredibly small rooms
Wonderful vue, large room with a pleasant balcony, very kind and attentive staff, good restaurant. One of the best hotel I've ever stayed
The staff were very courteous and spoke numerous languages so it made communications easy. Also, they were very discreet and extremely helpful with any issues and questions about the surrounding areas. The view from my room were spectacular!!! Quiet, romantic, and close to downtown historical Salzburg. Nothing were wrong.

The ambiance and the location The old bathroom, quite unconfortable
Hotel is conveniently located for festival goers. Facility is old and room small.
The service was impeccable and the room was spacious
Friendly staff, excellent location, comfortable rooms it didn't have a spa. the furniture was a bit worn
Everything, staff were so welcoming and made us feel special and individual which was much appreciated as this was our honeymoon. Yes - it was extremely smoky and very warm
Good location. Toilet is immaculate. Single room is small
Business trip to Munich
Wonderful sevice. Beautiful room. Excellent location. One of best hotels I have ever stayed in.
It starts with the concierge taking care of your car and luggage, the girl at the reception brings you to your room and gives you info about city and map before you can ask, really very good service. Beds are very comfortable and the room was in authentic style which fits with the rest of the hotel
location near the center
Old world charm, historic building, beautifully maintained, elegant, extremely delightful staff, wonderful restaurant, terrific bathrooms. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this lovely hotel.
Location was a important factor. Love the decor too!
Restaurant was good but too pricy. For the rest, excellent stay!
Mixture between traditional austrian style and luxury Nothing to complain
The location of the hotel. We enjoyed staying in the 'old' part of Salzburg.
This is a fantastic hotel! If you like antiques in your room and helpful staff attentiveness, this is the place to stay. The restraint is fantastic. Don't go to it if you want new fusion type food. The menu is very traditional. Each meal was prepared as if your Gran muter was in the kitchen herself. ( I don't know the German word for grand mother, I'm just guessing.) My wife couldn't have been happier with the stay. Comforters- I tend to be a little warm. The big down comforters were a little to warm for me.
charming small hotel in centre of town very noisy at night
The location is excellent, very central. The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.
Outstanding hotel - staff were efficient and friendly as well as thoughtful. Room was full of character and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere of the 600 year old hotel was fascinating. We ate room service food which was excellent - we were able to pick locally popular dishes as well as the usual chioces on Hotel Room Service menus. Parking was not convenient by the hotel, but the hotel took care of it all with free valet parking, so this was not a major issue.
Great location - easy to walk to everything.
Excellent location, very professional and helpful staff.I also liked the rustique room not lacking modern amenities.I would advise more English TV programs.
Hotel Goldener Hirsch had all the promised alpine charm of a 700-year old hotel. The decor was quaint and we received a free two-level upgrade on our room. Very spacious as a result. Staff was remarkably courteous. A bit expensive for the included amenities, and the old world charm means some amenities are missing or outdated.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is on a cute street in Salzburg, very close to shops, restaurants, and tourist sites. We would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful staff and perfect location The carpet, TV stand, small sofa and small table and chairs felt a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of the hotel
The room was lovely, spacious and better than expected. The reception personnel were extremely helpful and courteous. The bacon served at breakfast was underdone and chewy, should be crisp.
The hotel position to all the things needed to see in Salzburg, was EXCELLENT !! Need to have a choice of pillows and duvets (my Daughter is allergic to feathers !!!!!!! (You did change them, but polyester duvet, very thin!)
The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent It was very accomodating
Location , Free internet access
We were a party of five adults and everyone of us was delighted with this hotel. It had a great warmth about it from the moment you step though the front door and are greeted, in excellent English, by the people in the reception area. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, they are another indicator of the pride the owners take in their lovely hotel. The time and help they are prepared to give you is another. Its location is just perfect if you wish to stroll around the beautifull city of Salzburg, it is on the door step. Breakfast was excellent.
Based in the centre of Salzberg it was easy to get around. Some noise early in the morning. The church bells tend to wake you early if you want a lie in. Our room was not the cleanest I've been in. Holes in the wall above bed tend to make us think this was not well looked after. Dirt around the bed area and carpet.
Central Location More infromation on parking would have been helpful
The location was perfect. The staff were very helpful & friendly would recomend
I loved the room. It wqas very romantic and it was a great deal for our money. I also loved the location, it was right in the heart of salzburg. The only thing we did not like was that it was rather stuffy. The window let to square, meaning there building surrounding the window and enclosing from getting any fresh air. The air condition did not cool off the room at night, so we got rather warm and could not sleep that well.
location good, good breakfast selection room safe was not working and despite asking ,it was not fixed, however safe facility was made available at reception
Location was great. Hotel staff was really helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and it was all in all great stay and great service. Thank you. Everything was fine.
Stadtkrug is in a great location on a quite pedestrian lane in Salzburg. Only steps to outdoor cafe's and shops as well as Mirabell Palace and garden and the river. Desk staff was quite helpful including warming up our leftover pizza from another restaurant and seating us near the window. We enjoyed the outdoor rooftop dinner of beef stroganoff and spätzle. Room was clean but small and modern.
A quiet, peaceful, city-centre location and a hotel with character.
Very Good Service
Great stay at hotel, staff were helpful when asked to change rooms since next to the elevator. Nice breakfast and wonderful location to city. Rooms clean and comfortable. The fact that the hotel allowed pets since a large dog stayed and we could hear it barking until we asked to move rooms. Very smoky in the bar/ reception area. Be nice if they could have opened a window.
The location was within convenient distance to all major sites yet very quiet. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
The experience was wonderful, the room was clean, the staff was extremely nice and always helpful. It was my 2nd trip to Salzburg and my friend's first trip. We would book this hotel again next time without question! The hotel food for lunch and dinner was amazing! Breakfast had a wide variety of food. We had one of the smaller double rooms and it was great!
The location is great for walking around the city and very very close to the river. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and we even had an infant and dog with us. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very kind and helpful. You can not park at the hotel because its in a pedestrian zone, but there are parking ramps and lots available fairly close to the hotel. I did not like the fact that you can smoke in the hotel bar which is by the checkin desk, but we found that you were able to smoke in some restaurants as well, very surprised by this.
Location -short walk over the bridge to the old town, area in Linzergasse is also very nice. Room keys are a bit strange, remote control! Breakfast was a stingy affair.
Central Location N/A
Excellent location (right in the Town Center), and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. The shower was rather small.
The hotel is located in the old section of Salzburg, right off Marketplatz. This is a perfect location for getting around town and finding a great restaurant. Everything is in walking distance.
It very close to Mozart museum that mean you can walk around to old city very easy. Very nice staff and helpful.
Location was perfect - right behind the Mozart Place, few minutes to the main sights, but just away from the noise. Semi-buffet breakfast was served by a friendly staff, variety of local bread, slices of sausages and cheese. Staff were helpful, gave us tips on Salzburg Card and even helped us book our train tickets to Wien. After check-out, they have called a taxi for us, which came in 2 minutes. None
The hotel was just where you want to be in Salzburg. It is in the center of the historic old town and an easy walk to everything. The breakfast was excellent - the best we had in our three weeks in Europe. If you are driving, get good directions to get there. Once there they give you everything you need to park the car nearby at a very good rate.
This hotel is in a great position within the Alt Stadt of Salzburg with great walking distance to the castle, Mozarts birth house, restaurants and the old part of Salzburg.
Good location. Poor breakfast.
Excellant location, staff were very helpfull and friendly
The situation of the Hotel was very good. The rooms were good and clean and the staff very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. The only down side of the room was the bathroom, it needed a little updating but was generally adequate.
location, only steps to all the historical spots. rooms are very small but adequate
Location was excellent & staff extremely friendly & happy!
The receptionist"Dietmar" is very nice and helpful. The location is in the heart of Salzburg, wouldnt be better than this. -
The hotel was very central and had a lot of ambiance. The bar area allowed smoking which was a bit of a shock now that Britain is smoke-free!
Extremely helpful staff Noise-spill from other rooms. Below average bathroom. Price when compared with other similar hotels in W. Europe.
Restaurant staff particularly friendly and helpful. Food (breakfast and dinner) very good and very good value. Eat outside if you can. Reception staff a bit 'stressed' [need more staff on duty at busy times]. Although our room had aircon, it didn't function fully [cool air, not cold air]. We also overheard other guests commenting on the same problem. The staff 'pretended' they didn't know of this problem. They urgently need to upgrade the aircon...for a town centre location [with the noise you would expect] you need to have the windows shut at bed time, without melting!
Location. Great staff. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Pillows are useless. Shower has a really low ceiling.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well conceived. The location is splendid. Staff is very efficient. Difficult to find your way when you arrive by car as the official address indicates Getreidegasse (pedestrian zone, no access for cars). The hotel has a second entrance at the opposite side of the building where you can shortly park the car for unloading. The public garage is very close and easy to find.
The room was great -- a studio, but it was just me, and there was enough room to spread out a bit. Stayed four nights and never felt claustrophobic. There is no concierge per se -- rather, the front desk staff acts in that capacity. I had one question that was either ignored or forgotten and got bad information about booking the shuttle to Munich. A concierge shouldn't have to google everything.
Its position. It's near the old town and you can have everything in your sight in about 5 minutes. my room (wasn't in a good spot - 1st floor) and the smell from the kitchen in the hall. The breakfast was just good but according to the room rates it should be more qualitative and rich.
Very nice Hotel in the best location in Salzburg.
Actually not that much! The room was plain , wifi did not work and there was one laptop for all hotelguests, breakfast was a battlefield if you arrived afyer 9 am .
Location, decent restaurant, price No Wi-Fi, uncomfortable bed
The lady who seems to be the owner was really kind and very efficient. Location was perfect. We did everything walking.
the restaurant was excellent and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly the shower soaked the bathroom floor
Good design, comfortable Poor quality of breakfast, lack of space
The last day we checked out and left our luggage at the hotel for a couple of hours, meanwhile, they realized that we had left shaving foam and some razor in our room, so they placed them in our luggage which created a problem when we were checking in at the airport, as these items are not allowed on planes. We are sure that they meant good by putting these things in our luggage but I think they should be conscious that these items are not allowed at airports
We liked the location of the hotel. Right in the middle of everything, walkable distance of all the important sites. The friendly staff helped us. It was very noisy. We had a room that was on the street and the single window let all the noise come in and since there is a restaurant on the first floor the noise was from late at night and started again very early in the morning. If I stay there again I would ask for an interior room. I would also improve the breakfast with a little more fresh fruit.
It was right in the heart of everything, but a cab ride from the train station. The shower had no door and the bathroom would get flooded every time we used it.
Location, excellent service from Ulrike and the restaurant staff. Good food. Disappointed to find the spare bed propped up against our window but we moved that so not a problem
This is my third stay at this Hotel and I love the Innkeeper-Ulrike, she is charming, entertaining, always has a smile and kind word. The location of this Inn/Hotel is ideal for walking everywhere in Salzburg-it is so romantic to be in the heart of the olde city w/the Fortress high on the hill overlooking the storybook town. I highly recommend. This is not a complaint but a suggestion. Our bed was an iron canopy bed, king size, which was great but it truly needed a box spring as it was so low to the floor and was almost dangerous to get into, for fear of brusing your self on the metal- I know this is quite European, not to have a box spring but it may be the time to upgrade- We do low the the down pillows and comforters-they make it all worthwhile.
Perfect locatiin. Amazing stay. Staff was very attentive. They went out of their way to assist my mother and even drove to a local market to purchase soy milk for my breakfast. I'm in the travel industry and highly recommend this hotel
The staff was wonderful! Our room was also wonderful! We would go back here again!
Great location, very comfortable room, good breakfast, friendly staff The parking is miles away, but I guess it's inevitable, given the hotel's location in the middle of Salzburg's pedestrian area
even having opened a few days before my stay and not in full operation yet, the hotel is a MUST !!! just great... There is no parking at the hotel, must leave the car in a city parking lot, 5mins away, but the hotel has an agreement for its guests...
Excellent location, nice staff and very good breakfast excellent
the location and the design of the rooms. the access to the hotel is a bit tricky. the addition of hot food to the breakfast spread is highly recommended.
it is in the perfect locality for a short stay in salzburg, all the staff were fantastic and the recent refurbishment was very stylish and did not detract from the old world charm of its surroundings. a great find if you are looking for a " hip " getaway
beautiful room and very close to Christmas market Breakfast was good, can be a little bit more variation.
Excellent location, friendly service, stylish and modern interior design No
great location, service excellent, rooms interesting and comfi, no complaints whatsoever no bath, only shoer, but a good one.
Staff was extremely attentive. Great looks, beautiful room and phantastic location of the hotel. Unbeatable value for money even in high season. Highly recommended. We will come again! The breakfast was relatively simple but sufficient.
Very friendly and accommodating staff with great restaurant recommendations. Well layed out modern rooms
The location within easy walking distance of most of the tourist sites of Saltzberg. The bathroom mirror was too high for me to see myself. I never figured out how to press the button correctly on the ground floor. I would hav eliked the dining room to be available for breakfast from 7:00 A.M.
Everything was very clean and well kept. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit and refills of coffee. The staff were very helpful and did everything to ensure our stay in Salzburg was pleasant. The location of the hotel was perfect for visiting the sites, enjoying a late evening meal and getting to the main train station. There was some noise from neighbouring cafes/pubs on Saturday night.
the staff were amazing, the room is small but all we needed with regards to location etc. they were there for our every need and we would go back for sure. the family breakfast was very nice for extra. we liked it all we visited in late Sept. I don't know what the room would be like in the summer months.
Location is excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They have good English. Cleanliness was also good. The also had an elevator, which is important for seniors when you might be several floors up. In general we had a excellent stay. The "home-made" breakfast (an additional fee) had limited selection (not a buffet). The only thing "home-made" was some musli with yogourt, which was tasty, but the rest of the breakfast is in fact not home-made. (However, you could pay yet another fee for home-made eggs). Additionally the breakfast fees had to be paid in cash. We were not informed of this beforehand.
Freindliness, cheerfulness and helpfulness of staff. Being small sized and fanily run it had a distinctive personality and we were treated as individuals not standardised units of consumption. Also especially well located for my wife who has mobility diffioculties. n/a
Very convient location and good staff. Breakfast is simple. Equipments in room look old.
Really liked the location of the hotel as regards the sites and shopping. I didn't like the neighborhood pub located outside our window that was open until 4 a.m.
A family run hotel that was located in the heart of Salzburg. The people made me feel like I was almost a part of the family. Especially the daughter. Right to the point that she actually walked us to the door on the way out. Highly recommended if you like being part of the city.
The staff were lovely. The position was great. A bit noisy (street)
Friendly and very helpful staff. Marianne at reception went out of her way to ensure that we were well informed and offered great tips for a quick tour of the city. Breakfast was excellent.
Friendly helpful and quiet
Location is excellent Although rooms are clean they are very basic with no tea/coffee making facilities
Location was good in terms of proximity to sightseeing and the bus stop. However, beware that it's across the street from a church with bells every 15-30 minutes from early morning to night. Bad wifi. The bar downstairs was very loud each night. The front desk is not staffed after 2pm - you have to go find the person at the bar next door, which they seem to care more about than the hotel. The front desk was not helpful in providing information about the city. Bathroom was not very nice.
Excellent location, spacious warm room, adequate breakfast. Staff helpful
The location for getting around Salzburg is ideal. Although it did not bother me, one should know that the church across the street rings bells from about 7AM till 10PM. If your a light sleeper, it may not be the ideal for you. But on the other hand, your in Europe and the church bells are part of the experience.
the staff were very friendly and helpful, the location is excellent
The location and basic cleanliness are the best things this hotel has to offer The room was small and was equipped at a very minimum level. A 3star rating misrepresents what this hotel has to offer.
