Positano is considered to be the pearl of the Amalfi coast, fabled to have been founded by the god Poseidon. In 1970, Positano native Carlo Cinque, known to his friends as "Carlino", built Il San Pietro di Positano, a five-star jewel of Italian hospitality, on the promontory that he’d loved since he was a child.
