I liked everything. We were coming from Tulum and a not so good hotel and we drove that day a lot so we came to the hotel very sweety, we were received with a fresh towel and champagne. We were immediately check in and the reception placed a reservation in the stake house grill right away. Our room was amazing. The food on this resort will blow your mind my favorite was the carpaccio appetizer from Palazzo and the menu from Ventanas everything. I hate buffet food but here the food is fresh and cooked to excellence and the drinks keep coming. The staff goes above and beyond for you. The property is in one of the most beautiful beaches of Playacar.

The beach
Where do I begin...I've stayed at multiple all inclusive properties so I felt that my expectations were realistic. My mother and I were traveling to look for wedding venues for my upcoming wedding. This resort was such a disappointment. The checkin service took an hour and we did not receive any orientation to the resort or information on activities for the week. We were told that our reservations were pre-booked to all the restaurants for 8:30 PM and we could not change it when we asked. The Italian restaurant was closed for the entire stay. I was traveling with my mother and we requested double beds, none were "available" yet the resort felt empty. The water in the shower was COLD and when I called to ask about it, they said they were sending someone to the room to check it out... they never came. Then the next day, they wouldn't move us to a different room because they "fixed it." The water was only ever tepid at best. My mother and I washed our hair in the sink. The TV only had 2 channels that were English speaking and no option for movies for us to have a girls night in. They also allowed people to bring their own music to the small pool and blare it. My mother and I love music but the type of music playing wasn't the most appropriate and did not help relaxation. The best part about this place was the location. The beach was beautiful. My recommendation is that you find someplace else to stay nearby because this place was dirty, old, without good service, and a huge disappointment.

Royal Hideaway Playacar, Adults Only, is a luxury hotel and resort situated in the incredibly beautiful Riviera Maya. It allows guests to fully enjoy the serenity and romance that Royal Hideaway offers. One of the biggest draws of the hotel is that it sits near some of the main attractions in the area, but far enough away that it maintains a serene and peaceful atmosphere. For instance, the world-famous Playa del Carmen is just a short trip away.
In all, Royal Hideaway Playacar offers guests 201 amazing rooms to enjoy for their stay. All of the suites are surrounded by lush gardens that offer unparalleled privacy and atmosphere. Each room comes with free Wi-Fi, customized air conditioning, an iPod dock and can be configured with either one king size bed or two double beds. Most importantly, every guest has access to all of the amazing amenities the resort has available.
There are a total of six different swimming pools on-premises, each one with an incredible view of the nearby beach. This includes three relaxation pools for unwinding with a cool drink and the infinity pool that features a soothing waterfall as its centerpiece. Royal Hideaway Playacar also has a private beach just for resort guests where they can also order food and drinks to be brought to them.
Visitors are bound to work up an appetite after a full day of sand and sun, which is why Royal Hideaway Playacar has six restaurants and three different bars to choose from. Each one is unique, offering a different collection of cuisine and atmosphere. Some of the restaurants offer formal dinners complete with a dress code while others are decidedly more relaxed and casual.
