Sol Beach House Mallorca

I thought the breakfast was very good. A great selection. The quality of the food at the pool bar was good. The pool boy was very helpful despite everyone bagging the sun beds in the morning and not sitting on them for hours

We arrived late at night. Very long check in, about half an hour with no smile or welcome. The male receptionist gave us a ticket for beach towels and then told us if we lost them, it would be €20. The room was very basic but adequate. The safe required a key (it’s been a long time since I came across one like that!) I had to return to the reception and was greeted by another man who gave me a key and a receipt to sign and told me if I lost the key it would be €20. I don’t know if this reflects on their clientele or the policy of the hotel but I felt it was very unfriendly and left me feeling that the hotel didn’t welcome their guests in a proper manner and the guests in a positive way. The other big problem was the fluctuating temperature in the shower. At some point it was very very hot and then went cold. I didn’t complain at the time but I should have. Also the service at the pool bar restaurant is very poor. There was only one girl taking food orders and she was completely stressed and rushed off her feet. Also there were very basic toiletries in the room. No shower caps, no soap or other bits and pieces usually expected. Only liquid soap and conditioner in a large bottles.
