Room was extremely small compared the price if the room.
Es war sauber. Der Preis war unverschämt. Die Lage so lala und eher laut. Parken und Frühstück teuer.
I like the fact that the hotel was closed to everything that we needed from restaurants, bars and drugstores. The hotel staff were very friendly from the valet attendant to the front desk. Our flight got delayed and they were able to accommodate our check-in time. We understand that parking is an issued around the city but we thought it was expensive for the hotel to charge $45 for valet parking and there are a lot of homeless people walking around. I wouldn't walk around the city by yourself at night.
The valet parking service was too expensive and too slow.
Location Breakfast was weak
Strange experience altogether. Checkin gentleman was a little uncomfortably flirtatious while the morning staff person at checkout was unfriendly and curt. Elevator out of service and was only offered a free cancellation verses a discount. Incredibly noisy room, awkward layout. At $170 with tax, definitely not worth the overall experience. Would not recommend ot stay at again.
Having driven up from LA, we arrived just after midnight. We called 2-3 hours away to let the concierge know.. the guy hung up on us. Luckily, he had left by the time we got there... Thomas, the night concierge, was awesome and extremely helpful! The next evening, we had some late night troubles with getting a taxi. I question of this "new" guy actually called... we waited for a long time. However, I really enjoyed having a 24- hour concierge... thanks for that. It's a "boutique" hotel... hence the room was tiny. HOWEVER, We slept well, the room was well laid out for being so small, and has all the fixins' of a regular hotel. Parking was across the street at the Convention center, but for a reduced rate. In the AM there was a continental breakfast, which was a nice spread. This hotel was right smack in the middle of downtown Oakland, on the border of ChinaTown. Which was great because "Fortune" Chinese is open late and 2-3 blocks away and delish! The area is very walkable, with stores and bars and restaurants nearby. See above...
Perfect location. Went to a concert at the fox theater and right downtown. Parking is easy, even on the street is fine. Very safe, Oakland just has a bad rep
Very comfortable room and bed, friendly staff, good location near The Fox Theatre and lots of bars and restaurants. No hot water to speak of, wifi only worked for about 5 minutes.
The price was great. There was quite a bit of cleanser left in the shower, but it was clean!
Good for folks looking for a quick and quiet stay. The 'breakfast' left much to be desired.
-elevator felt a little sketchy; needs some maintenance
Location was ideal for business, food & nightlife in downtown Oakland. 2 blocks from BART. Rooms are nicely updated while still maintaining old-school charm. Rooms are a bit snug and sink is in bathroom but c'mon people this building is 100+ years old. You're clearly not at a Courtyard Marriott, embrace the history. Surprisingly good water pressure for an older building. I stayed on second floor above the entrance and there was a ton of street noise that woke me up in the morning--trash pickup at 5 AM, loud truck running and pallet unloading for Smart & Final next door at 6 AM. Not really hotel's fault but something to be aware of--choose a higher/rear facing room or bring a loud fan. It was nice they provided it but breakfast was bare minimum. Staff was friendly but staff rushed through check-in as quick as possible. Shampoo but no conditioner in bathroom.
Not safe !!! Had to park down 2 blocks in parking garage !!! No hotel parking like listing said !!! No deals like we were PROMISED FROM KYACK !!! You could tell our ROOM WASNT CLEAN...THERE WERE USED TOWELS EVERYWHERE AND WHEN WE CALLED TO COMPLAIN ALL THEY SAID WAS HUH THATS STRANGE !!!! Lame not worth it if your looking to go to a show and dont want to worry about your stuff...THEN DONT STAY HERE !!!! I work at hotels and this was by far one of our worst experince !!!
I loved the room and the space in the room. When I walked through the hallway it smelled so good....awesome experience!
Staff was great took care of us and where on point which all the little details Needed more shampoo and conditioner!!...fit under my boob
Close to downtown Oakland within walking distance of the Fox theater. Arrived late at 5:30 for our 3:00 reservation and the room was not ready. There were 5 other parties in the same situation. The receptionist didn't ask our name or gather any info from us (or anyone else in the waiting room) when we arrived. We were asked to sit and wait behind the people that arrived before us. After 30 minutes nobody waiting had been taken care of so we went up and told them we had a reservation and gave our name. We were given the same answer. We went to a nearby restaurant and came back an hour later...then our room was ready. They clearly needed a more caring/knowledgeable person working the front desk.
Location / Distance to City Center was great. The room was a bit small.
Very clean, comfortable accommodations. Great central downtown location for business. Nice hot breakfast included. Good value.
