Very Friendly staff everywhere I went. Large, clean, comfortable room. Love the view of the city. Close to food, jazz clubs, and crown center. Would definately recommend for a business trip or with the family. Nice, open bar with food.
Very comfortable beds They ignored my room service card the last 2 nights.
The walkways that connect to places to eat ,stores etc. the best about this hotel. And the lobby is nice. Lines to check in and out were long and slow. I suggest you sort lines. I had prepaid and booked and still had to stand in line to check-in for 20 minutes.Had to pay by day for WiFi. So we went to free wifi locations away from hotel. Should not have to pay for that in a hotel that charges per day what this one does. And the charge per day for parking again should at least be one fee per stay. Now for the worst part of our trip. We were put by elevator. And could hear the elevator every trip up and down. All day and night. Did not get a good nights sleep. So if you stay here make sure to ask for room away from elevator locations!
I loved this hotel. One of the nicest I've ever stayed at. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was fantastic. Great view of downtown too.
Great location and staff. Rooms were a bit expensive for what they were
We received excellent rate through hotels.com. Location to power and light very close and they have a free shuttle. Charge for parking.
Great Location. Easy access to many K.C. attractions. Pool was nice. High price, but little value. Bed was uncomfortable and noisy(creaky, squeaky). Small TV. $16 a day for parking. $10 a day for wifi. No continental breakfast.
The waterpark was great. Friendly people working there. I would recommend the water park, but not the hotel. But, you have to stay at the hotel to use the water park. I would tell them to clean the place up. Too dirty for how expensive it is to stay there Room was NOT clean. Urine all over the toilet, broken lampshade, wet and used hand towels, slow draining sink, shower faucet dripped, bathroom floor not swept, dusty ledge. Too expensive of a place to be that dirty.

We had a wonderful time KC is amazing Staff and room were excellent
Friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness of the rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable. Group of pre-teen boys running up and down the hallway, screaming and banging on doors in the middle of the night. Not really the hotel's.fault, but.certainly put a.damper on things.
Very comfortable, friendly staff, very clean, conveniently located near railway station.
View of City Comfortable Room Quiet Very nice shops attached, restaurant options. Staff extremely polite and helpful Signage within hotel somewhat confusing. No directions to hotel parking garage Elevator to parking garage was not labeled as such
Very close to the Sprint Center.Comfortable beds and clean rooms. I was very satisfied and would stay there again.
The location and size of the room. That we have been charged for the Gym usage (US$ 5). This is ridiculous.
The hotel was close to the venue we were attending. The construction in the front of the hotel and lack of parking.
Staff were very accommodating!! Great Art Deco vibe! Close to many amenities! No
The location was nice, in the middle of downtown. Hotel Phillips was rated as a four star hotel, so our expectations were high. Instead our room was not vacuumed, the carpeting was clearly damaged, and the wall paper was literally peeling from the walls. It was worse than the 2/3 hotels we've stayed in.
The hotel location was exactly where we needed The hotel is under construction which is understandable if managed properly. This was not. The water was turned off all day before we checked in and was being turned off again the next day so we couldnt even shower. We were woken up at 7:30 am by noise.
Location and style No
The location was kind of centralized so it was close to just about everything we wanted to do, and the room itself was pretty awesome...:)
This hotel is beautiful and well located. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom products. Wish the room had fridge and microwave and room service was open later. Would also be nice if there were a pool.
Has the potential to be charming - was under construction. Had a lighted mirror in the bathroom - don't find those very often. No restaurant & no room service. Wallpaper is starting to peel from the wall in the bathroom. Microwave on top of the desk - took up much of the available space.
The price was great for the location we needed Hotel construction going on
I loved the history wrapped up in this hotel! What a great location! Cheap parking, great staff, and even though there is currently a huge renovation project going on, it was as clean as it could be and very quiet in our room.
The location is fantastic. Close proximity to restaurants and Bars. The new tram is close by and connects you to Union Station. Is a historic hotel with a well preserve interior and exterior lobbies. There is construction everywhere at the hotel. They start at 8am drilling loudly all over the place. if you expect to sleep in, you will be out of luck.
Nothing Shower,no refrigerator. Construction mess. Beds and pillows.
The room was spacious. Comfortable bed with nice lighting all around. Nicely decorated. Very quiet. I think they must use a carpet freshener, because it really smelled nice, even the hallways. Hot breakfast was a very nice treat. Toilet bowl had toothpick in it, so I was leary of how clean it really was. Sink had black residue around the silver drain disk. That shouldn't be there. Could be cleaned with a Q tip. Front desk clerk could have been more welcoming.
Nice room, clean hotel, friendly staff!
Staff was very friendly and willing to work with us, even though we had small children and it was a business hotel.
Location of hotel . close to food and shopping. We parked the car and walked to everything we wanted to go to. There was shopping for men not just the women. A good variety of food choices near by. Target and same within driving distance.
The location and parking was easy to get to and from. The staff was polite. The hotel was clean. The bed was terrible. It was rock hard and worn out. We have sore backs now and probably will for a few days. The only other complaint was the loud bathroom, we're not sure if it was the room next door's heating/cooling but it was loud and had to be shut during the night.
Quick stay and very friendly
Staff was great. Rooms were very clean and nice. It was a really nice stay.
Cleanliness of the hotel. Good design and decoration of the hotel. Private and secure multistory parking. Availabiluty of PCs, internet, and printers free of charge. No
Great location and easy to access downtown KC. Staff was pretty polite and awesome for moving our room closer to the other couple we traveled with. Our fitted sheet for our bed had someone's hair all over it, that wasn't ours so we slept on top of the top sheet and our bed was rather uncomfortable and rock hard, but other than that everything else was pretty clean.
Fitness room was clean and the equipment was well kept. The air conditioner was a little noise and the room climate was hard to control.
The clean room and front lobby. The bed was as hard as a rock. The staff never gave us a parking voucher so when we left we had to pay 10$.
The beds were extremely comfortable. The pillows were so soft, too. I would go back just for the beds. The staff were also very very friendly! There wasn't anything I didn't like. It was very nice, honestly. :)
Best selling point is the location to the sports complex. The facility was clean. It was a nice place to stay but exception. I would stay there again.
The second room was cleaner and bug free at least. Where to begin, I am not one to complain but i have had better experience's at a $40.00 a night budget motel. Hidden driveway. no adequate parking or place to park to check in, Rooms smelt stale and had roaches in it, the bath tub in 2 rooms would not drain or drained extremely slow, The pool had no entry or exit steps, just a ladder. There was breakfast offered, but they wanted over $11.00 per person for some buffet scrambled eggs and cold cereal. The beds were hard as a rock. the noise from the lobby echoed throughout the hotel and down the halls. when i called to ask why the lobby was so noisy as i had a 7 year old trying to sleep. i was told quiet hours were after 11:00pm.
Close to arrowhead The hot water served tasted like coffee. The bar/eating had real poor service and took evening help forever to serve you both days and they was not busy. The breakfast food was cold. Taco John was faster next door to get waited on. For $180 a night the soap dispenser in shower was not filled. For money I would stay at Drury Inn down road with free breakfast and evening free drinks and food.
The access to highway and eatery's The beds were to small the sink leaked and toilet took a long time to flush the lower level is were the put us and it felt like it. The security door to parking lot was broken. I told a staff and they said they have been working on it for a couple of weeks now. That really concerned me anyone could just walk in with no security surveillance.
Right next to stadiums The shampoo and body wash were connected to the shower wall and were empty
nice, clean, and comfortable. Walking distance to the ball park. Overall a very nice place to stay. after checking in and getting to our room we discovered the a/c was leaking water and the corner of the rooms carpet was wet. We called the front desk at 3pm had to leave at 5:30 with no response. Got back to the hotel around 10:30pm still had nothing done about the a/c. went to the front desk and they had to move us to another room. The front desk employee said the would refund half of our cost for the room but that did not happen.
The young staff was pleasant. The amenities. No spa or continental breakfast (would have paid more for it)
Location across the street from the ballpark was great. Could have used a bit more counter space or a luggage rack.
We were in town to watch the Cardinals play the Royals - so the hotel was in a perfect location! Staff were very helpful upon check-in. Bartender and wait staff at the restaurant/bar were fun and helpful. We enjoyed sitting at the bar talking to them. We loved the balcony in our room. Enjoyed the no smoking aspect of the hotel. Beds and pillows were too soft. The shower did not drain correctly so in the shower you had to stand in dirty water. Room AC was not very cold.
The night clerk was very bubbly and friendly on check in and was helpful in helping me figure out how to get to the wifi. There should have been a better explanation in the room literature on how to access the internet from the room. It still refers to a data port on the phone, which is a bit outdated now.
clean room and was quiet hot tub was cold and heavy on the chlorine
After a bad storm and no power there were 350 people all trying to check in at 4 pm. The Staff was amazing in the service they provided to many irate guest. Michelle and staff did an amazing job during a stressful time. The Hotel as a whole needs to be torn down and re built. The rooms were extremely outdated, mold on the ceiling tiles in the room, no hot water, bugs in the blinds, NO air conditioning at all, very poor over all quality for spending $250 for one night because of a concert being in town.
Nothing Front desk was rude. Notified them of no heat in our room, they told us to pretty much deal with it.
Love how beautiful the hotel was an how relaxing the room was an Denys was right across the way so I smacked all night lol love this place plus it has a water park .
The hotel was great. The staff was pleasant and eager to please. When we arrived, there was no record of our reservation. If I hadn't brought along my printed receipt I don't know that we would have gotten a room at all. Not the best start to our stay, but after the issue was resolved we truly enjoyed ourselves.
The hotel appearance upon arrival was nice and clean. The gentlemen there when we arrived was kind and helpful. The beds were the WORST! As were the pillows. Was supposed to have a microwave but didn't. The rooms were so warm - even with the air down to 60. Indoor pool door was jammed shut so we couldn't swim. However, the man at the counter gave us tickets to the water park - which was okay but super warm and heavy - but suppose it's supposed to be? Had to get ice from the market because the 2 floors I was sent to to get ice, the machines weren't working. A few more petty things.. Not a fan of the hotel :(
The rooms where very nice and cleane Need more parking
Great for ease in seeing Kansas City Royals play Over $200 per room, very poor value considering a lumpy bed, a missing mini fridge and tiny bathroom. Air conditioning was marginal.
Stayed 1 night. Rooms were clean and the staff was nice and helpful. Breadfast area was clean. Close to shopping Mall and Speedway.
The room was filled with smoke stench and they refused to change our room. We didn't smoke. They were rude. Would never stay there again. Good for smokers who don't ask for anything.
This hotel is in a good location to the Legends shopping area on the west side of KC. It's clean and pretty basic. Good value for the money.
We wanted to beat the winter blues and took our grandkids to stay and swim. The pool was wonderful, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The only slight problem we had was the room key, but the staff was helpful.
This hotel is brand new. We stayed during the Nascar race weekend. Very nice, the staff was excellent, very friendly. This is non smoking but that worked out well, we just went outside. Would like to be able to book the room for next year instead of having to wait to see if the teams sign up again.
We felt very welcome and had a wonderful, peaceful night. Enjoyed our visit.
We booked this last minute so we were worried about location since we wanted to be by legends. It was not far away, taxis were not that expensive, and the bed as well as the couch were so comfortable. Oh and it was super clean, except the entire time we were there the elevator was full of crumbs, but the room was perfectly clean
WE stayed here after going to a concert at Verizon and it was perfect, be sure and mapquest the directions to Verizon and check avoid highways, you can get right in to the parking the 'back way'. The place was much nicer than many hotels I have stayed at that cost $40 more a night. Very clean room, I am a smoker, but I like that they don't allow smoking in the building as it keeps everything smelling so much nicer. I don't mind going outside to smoke to keep things nice.
it's really clean, the staff was nice and the breakfast was really good.
I'll stay here again. Clean hotel. Looked new. Quiet. Nice staff.
The staff was very friendly one of the best staffs and i stay at alot of hotels
The hotel was really clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. That I had to pay to get my car parked. I couldn't park it myself. When I tried to get my car from the valet I had to wait 45 min to an hour before I got my car brought out. Need better parking and valet service.
Large luxury suite with a great view. Friendly staff and great room service selection. Close to the plaza and offers a shuttle service. Room should have included info on restaurant, pool, gym hours and other hotel amenities. Also should include a safe. Indoor pool and spa could use an update (paint faded in spa).
Location Breakfast was disgusting, staff was rude, the bedding smelt of urine (no I am not kidding), not worth the money. Angry!
Awesome location....walking distance to the Country Club Plaza. Friendly staff. Very clean. Good food. The VIP concierge room is way too small!!
The madatory inconvenient valet parking that was not disclosed until I physically pulled in. Totally my trip not worth whIle for the get away I planned. The renovation made hotel stay beyond unpleasant and unconfortable. The upchage for absolutely everything considering what wasn't available due to renovating was undesirable. I would not come back there again for these reasons and will definitely share my experience to my friends and business travalers. I think anyone staying there during this "renovation" should be compensated in someway for the checking into that. I'm sure they also were not told the condition of the establishment and was as surprised as I was at arrival and check in.
Love this hotel for many reasons - great rooms (recently updated), coffee shop on lobby level, good service. Great concierge lounge too! I didn't realize until this visit that there is a restaurant on the second floor - it's fairly hidden and I don't recall the front desk telling me about it.
Great hotel The Staff there was really helpful, great location to go to the Plaza, or Westport 10 minutes walking time they have a shuttle if you are not into walking, or even the metro bus is right outside take you straight to power and light, or plaza. The rooms were very clean as well relaxing, and everything you needed was there. place is very secure at nights. oh the room the breakfast was awesome Blueberry waffles, among all your other stuff for breakfast! I will defiantly stay there again recommend as well to ever need a room for the night in K.C. Props to the girl who works at nights help me unlock my rooms restroom door that locked by itself. The rooms restroom doors have locks, that can lock you out? but the staff got it unlock quickly.
good staf,good location,
Staff Shabby, shower leaked all over
Oh my goodness! From the moment we stepped out of the car and walked through the beautiful secluded garden patio, to the moment we stepped in the door and were greeted and invited to enjoy free margaritas - the staff did everything to ensure our stay was wonderful. Upgraded room for free- plus we returned from dinner to find a bottle of champagne chilling with a note from the staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Wonderful breakfast- close walking distance to the Art Museum and The Plaza. We will be coming back here again!
I've been here on multiple occasions and been happy with each experience. Friendly staff close to the plaza.
I could use iron to dry my washed clothing. I could not connect to the wireless internet because the internet was limited or not available.
Was asked for my room key as proof that I was staying in at the hotel. Was later informed by an employee that the individual that asked for proof that I was staying at the hotel did not ask the Caucasian individuals who were staying at the hotel. Will never go back.
Being unfamilar with the area, I opted for the valet parking for our stay. When I ventured out from the hotel to the Country Club Plaza area 1.5 blocks away, I found a large free parking garage! Won't make that mistake again if I ever go back there.
Nice place. Good location. Valet expense.
We had a great weekend at Hotel Sorella! All of the staff was great! Especially enjoyed the staff at breakfast. Simone was over the top friendly! We had a group of international students in attendance with us and she made them all feel right at home.
Not a lot. The staff seemed like zombies. Furniture was beat up and old. Visible stains from God knows what on bedding and carpet. Housekeeping came knocking around 8am which seemed early and annoying for an extended stay. Thin walls, could here everything. Fire alarm was set off twice in one night which made for a sleepless night and was called a malfunction. I've paid more money at a shittier place and at least was able to sleep.
Enjoyed my stay there, the staff was pretty nice. They handled any questions or problems we had. Nothing
Pool, bed Door stuck...had to kick it to get in room...shower head leaked when you turned on spigot. Very old looking and feeling.
I loved the one lady, I think her name is Katy! She was so friendly and hospitable. She always worked hard and had a smile on her face. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest...let's just leave it there.
one of the best complimentary breakfasts I have ever seen tv didn't work needed tech to fix it should have worked
price Older hotel not in the best district
Staff very accommodating and friendly. No elevator to second floor. We arrived late at night with 2 children under two and a lot of luggage. Had to ask for different room on ground floor. Biscuits at breakfast were extremely hard. Did not have automatic door openers and difficult to get thru doors with a baby and luggage.
Location Pool was cold little pricey
The staff was very friendly. No exception there. Found out the shower didn't switch well between a shower and bath tub. The toilet bowel had a crack that split 3 ways and was ready to leak water everywhere.
Richly furnished and spacious room; very comfortable bed. Very convenient location right outside the airport.
Fast check-in. Very clean room, beds were comfortable. Good price for one night stay. Had to call twice for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. It took about 45 minutes. Being remodeled so the restaurant looked like a temorary set up with a some square bare tables and an electric food server on the counter. The "bar" was a ledge near the lobby with 2 beer taps and not a soul in site. Places to eat were about 5 miles down the highway.
Location is everything! The price was adequate. The room was clean and quiet.
Inexpensive and near the airport
Airport pickup and close to airport They charged me $25 to check in early as I needed to change clothes for my business meeting. They did not mention that had I waited 20 minutes there would be no charge. 'Company policy', the refuge of cowards.
Great bed, clean bathroom and extra blanket and pillow in the closet, friendly staff
The best were very comfortable and linens were very soft aND perfect after a long day of travel. There was only one ice room per floor.
