Hotel Sapphire was nicely situated in the sightseeing area of Istanbul. The hotel was lovely, the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, the breakfast buffet was a great start to the day. The tram is very near by, so it's easy to get around the city. The only downside is some of the nightlife spots are best served with a tram ride, and the tram stops running at midnight.
Location and friendly staff. Good value for the money. Room for breakfast a bit small but breakfast itself okay. My only recommendation is to label the different food items.
Everyone on the staff was very friendly, accomodating and efficient. They all spoke excellent English and none made us feel uncomfortable about not being able to speak Turkish. The hotel was clean and modern. The location of the hotel to tourist sites couldn't be beat. I loved everything!
The room was very clean and the staff of the hotel is perfect. Moroever the location was also good and the price was fare. Despite the fact that the Hotel is located in the centre of Istnabul it was very quite in the room.. No complaints, everything was perfect
Everything......particularly wonderful staff who went out of their way to help in everything- they stayed up waiting for us when we arrived at 3am, then they went to enormous lengths to get the hire car we wanted and had the car delivered to the hotel. Not only the service but they spoke impeccable English and very courteous in every way. Nothing
the staff was really nice, professional and efficient. Although the facilities are a bit rundown, the hotel is clean...towels and sheets smelled good. Harum at the front desk, made sure everything is in order and that we had nothing to complain about. Keep up the good work! The bathroom is quite dilapidated.
This hotel is a very good choice. Tha hotel staff is very helpful and nice, rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very tasty and abundant. The hotel is only five minutes walk from the main attarctions of Istanbul (Topkapi, Aya Sofia, Galata Bridge), so I can recommend to everybody to choose this hotel. You won't be disappointed. And last but not least the hotel has a very good transfer service from/to the airport.
location. close to touristic sites. nice 3 start decor. pillows were too high.
the staff at the hotel were very hospitable and took care of all our needs from baby food to transport, they were fantastic!
The staff were courteous and extremely helpful. The hotel was in an ideal location for walking or getting the tram to all the tourist sites and had the added bonus of a swimming pool and sauna to use after a day of exciting sightseeing and shopping Loved it all.
Staff was very accommodating. No
Beautiful hotel. Great location short walk to the best sightseeing.
Breakfast was excellent. Smaller room with no view
The Staff is very helpful and smiling all the time.. The location is ideal for visiting the old city... The breakfast is great.. The room was a bit small, but was comfortable.
Best price-service ratio
Excellent location, cleanliness and generally cheerful and helpful staff. Breakfast offered good choice and plentiful supply but offerings became somewhat monotonous over time. Room was somewhat small and lacked closet/cupboard space. Transit service to airport and 'new business area' was unreliable.
tremendous view--great room service ==just the place to get over jet lag. fridge temperature not cold-AC seemed a bit faulty
Breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was a little small by U.S. standards, but adequate. General location was not that great.
Location was perfect, clean, staff very friendly, amazing breakfast and good food whatever you need. Also upstairs has a nice view from the city. no problems
The only thing I really liked was the location. The room was very small for 2 people.
24hour room service
the tv is very bad and poor
Good breakfast Nice people
Great location. Very clean rooms. The concierge person (Lulah?) was very nice, helpful and service with a smile! The rooms very stuffy! I guess the a/c was turned off. Also you could smell smoke coming from the smoking rooms. The front desk/front door staff need to smile more and be more pleasant.
the terrace the room was noisy, no phonic isolation. the room was very small.
The room had a nice seaview, TV with a lot of programs. Hotel staff on reception was rude and impolite.
The hotel was nice but had a few flaws. first, do not eat the breakfast buffet, extremely over priced. They also keep the building very warm by not running the a/c too much.
This hotel is located walking distance to the Famous Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. This location can spare you the headache of taking a taxi. Traffic is literally a nightmare in Istanbul
The hotel was in a great location to be close to the Grand Bazar and most of the tourist sights. The hotel was clean and comfortable. I thought the prices for dinner and lunch were extrememly high up stairs, but there are plenty of restaraunts in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helped with directions any time we asked for them. Would stay again.
The hotel is situated almost across the street from the Grand Bazaar and within walking distance of many of the historical sites, including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, etc etc. Hotel is clean and efficient and provides free use of the business center. Only problem with the hotel (and this applies to most of Istanbul) is that there is hardly any English spoken by the staff!
Very good location walking distrance to most main tourists attraction venue. Overall attractive hotel except for room 219 WIFI can barely have any reception and one particular security can't even speaks English.
Rooms not very spacious but quite clean and well-maintained. Comfort is ok, but not exceptional. Furnishing and decoration need update. Breakfeast buffet might be a bit more refined. Overall, acceptable value for money but there are better options available. The view is magnificent on the 6/7 th floor.
Staff was efficient and courteous.....however the beds need definately improvement...the mattresses felt like they had been used by very heavy overweight people with a definate hole in the middle. We stayed in room 401 which sizewise was ok but had very few hangers for hanging clothes. New mattresses absolutely necessary... they should also provide a little more light in the corridors of the hotel... it was almost pitch dark and one had difficulties to insert card to open room doors.
Very convenient position for visiting the old town and the local attractions The room was extremely hot as the air conditioning was ineffective, no air conditioning in the breakfast room, staff not particularly helpful.
staff were excellent internet connection was subject to problems
A very nice hotel in a perfect location.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the view excellent (you can see from your window all the city, Agyasofia and Blue Mosque) and the tramway station very close to the hotel. I ll return to this hotel if I ever visit again Istanbul. The fact that the elevetor comes up to the 7th floor, and you have to walk some stairs to go to the roof garden which is on the 8th floor.
The room, view, amenities, and location were great; The one major issue was the staff - one of the desk clerks continued to harass my wife, asking for photos, and also to go on a date. It made the stay quite uncomfortable .. I would not expect this from a three star hotel!
The location and view were very good The only luxurious aspect of the hotel are the room prices. Given the price we were expecting something better than old furniture, staff that would not make the room in the afternoon and soap/shampoo coming from an dispenser attached to a wall. The worst was the minimalist breakfast supposed to last until 10:30 but which is almost empty at 9:30 and with staff starting to dispose of it at 10:15. Hotel does indeed have a gym, massage and jacuzzi, but you have to pay just for "general facilities access", and again for the activity you choose. We don't recommend this hotel, there are many better ones with same location advantage!
Perfect location, good atmosphere, very nice views,
Most amazing view of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque from my room.
pretty nice hotel, great location and view from the roof dining room breakfast could be better
good view The airconditioner is not working at the hotel .I adviced this hotel to my professor scientist colleguaeas .One them recently visited May 30 2010 from Taiepei and he told me that the airconditioner is not working Only fan is working . at that time I warned the hotel service . then for the SSIEM meeting I stayed and 3 of my other collegueas booked and stayed one from Belgium and the others two from UK and we had still the same problem air conditioner was NOT working I complained about this to hotel service and they told me that they can not do anything for that. It is not good for hotel that has a very nice location . I am sure , you will have more pressure on this air conditioner fixing or having a new system there Thank you
Super location, short walking distance to so many spots. The hotel is first class. Spendy, but worth it because the location means you can really just enjoy the sights without so much hassle with getting around the town.
This hotel was my first experience with a Four Seasons Hotel and certainly worth the expense. The staff were welcoming and accommodating to me on an individual level. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The food was out of this world. A great hotel in a great location. It's the place to stay if you want to treat yourself!
We loved the proximity to all the major sites in the old city of Istanbul, and we really enjoyed how the hotel incorporated ancient artifacts into their decor! When we arrived, we werreee upgraded to a suite which was wonderful. The rooftop breakfasts were very nice as well. The wifi was a little unreliable.
A fine location, very interesting use of old location and artifacts from archeological excavation, comfortable room and very pleasant welcome. This is our second and I hope not last stay.
Great location, great breakfast.
Good location. Breakfast ok. Bed acceptable. They put as in a closet first. 1 st floor room, size of a double bed. After complaint, they changed us, but then the service was cold. Also the reception gave false information about public transport.
location of hotel to the main attractions
The Eresin Crown is centrally located, very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. Drinks and some food items in the restaurant are overpriced. The roof terrace, which is one of the main features of the hotel, was not open for breakfast although the weather was fne and sunny.
Very nice location, good staff, nice breakfast, highly recommended
The beds are too hard as are the pillows. There was no heating despite the cold nights. The hot water supply is unreliable
Had a beautiful suite (had double room on the reservation even though now I see on your information it says "exclusive" double room). The hotel staff was helpful and polite. The location could not have been better. We walked to all the Sultanahmet sights, blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, AyaSofya, Topkapi Palace. No.
Exellent!! The hotel was great, nice room, good location in old city-would definitely stay again
Every thing is good
The location was very good: walking distance from Blue Mosque, Haghia Sofia, from The Bosforus Cruises. The hotel is very comfortable, rooms are spacious, I was disappointed with the pool, I was expecting a bigger pool, more sumptuous. It doesn t match with the rest of the hotel
the service was bad..
the position is the best!you are in the best place to see Istanbul. The building is great, it is a real Ottoman Palace. Our room was great, we book for a standard room but they gave us a suite!...great!
comfort and cleanlines of the rooms
Good location. Nice breakfast. Large room.
I like the location and the view from breakfast room
the staff are too friendly, you feel comfortable from the first minute you arrive everything is fine
clean room - not very helpfull staff - in the health center they tried to make us paye more than the real price
Awesome stay ! Breakfast was really good with a wonderful view. Thank you especially to Tolga and Seda
Location, servis Conndition not good
Warm and comfortable atmosphere; competent staff; ideal location
Basically a 4 star level of service with Staff training needed in the Housekeeping Dept and with Restaurant service Staff. - Overall a satisfactory experience Pillows are of poor quality and no extra pillows in rooms, Not enough towels and no where to hang your damp towel.\Poor bedside reading light
Hotel is in the center of old city.
the hotel was clean and the staff very nice. The bathroom was so small I never seen before. Rooms are also very small.
Some of the interior decoration Staff with attitude....air condition not fully functional... Trying to save energy bill on the comfort of guests... Room sizes ??? Old building not well insulated ...
Location, Staff, Room cleaniness, nice room they gave me looks like a studio rather than a room. Slow internet, Breakfast fair choices compared to 5 star hotel.
The location is perfect to get everywhere (close to grand bazar, university and at just 3 tram stop from blu musque, santa sofia and topkapi palace) the hotel is very nice and the staff is very polite. The wellness center is free and open until 10 p.m
it is nice the staff make some mistake in my bill
Very clean, well run hotel. Enjoyed our week long stay. This hotel is located within walking distance of the grand bazaar. But with a tram station a block away all the main attractions are just a few minutes away. Pay the 4 lira which is about a $1.25 right now get on the tram and explore the city. Also the Metro train is just a few blocks away as well. Get the breakfast buffet very nice selection and the food is very good. Remember to do the conversion on the price $55 lira is reasonable in U.S. Dollars and a steal in Euros. no cons that I can think of
Staff at the reception were friendly and offered exceptional service.special mention to behadur, and the manager. Excellent location .we will definitely stay once again
Very small rooms
Location to old city and sites When we checked in we were told a room was not yet ready as it was still being cleaned but the couple who traveled with us and checked in right after us got a room immediately which happened to be an upgrade from our room --for which we both paid the same price---which we were told would be ready by 1:45. At 2:15 p.m. it was not ready and we waited another 25 minutes to be given a room inferior to the ones our traveling companions got. We wondered why we did not get a room immediately?
The personnel and their extra mile dedicated to provide the best they can, the owner Ali is committed and ready to all suggestion and recommendations from all the guests, I pointed out small things and he ordered the adjustments with the blink of an eye, great management, recommendations to Mourad, Ismael, Shivan and Serhan, thank you guys; you're great.
The stuff is very, very helpful and friendly, the hotel is well located in front of the mosque and quite near to Istanbul University and historical Sultanahmet area. It's not too big, not crowded and noisy that sometimes can happen during high season. The minibar was empty, but's not a problem to buy some beverages to take away in the hotel's restaurant in the groundfloor that's open 24 hours. To my mind the breakfast was quite frugal.
The rooms were clean but very small bathrooms are tinyyyy ... First off they wanted to charge 30 lira for a swim now come on u pay for ur hotel u dont expect to pay to use the pool .. The food was cold .. i got and when i gave it back to them they put the chips in the microwave with the sauce on it was horrible .. The bar closed early one night so u had to go to the restaurant area for ur drinks ... now i have to say the staff were very nice and friendly these things that happened were not there fault ..
staff was helpful and smiling, except those of the dining room that smelled of sweat. I didn't like that everything was alleyways, dirty. the bathroom had just shower into the wall. I had salt water in the sink
it was comfortable u had to pay to use there swimming pool which is madness u pay enough to stay in the place .. bar closed one oof the nights had to use restaurant area
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Air-conditioner was not working very well.
very kind and polited staff! very good service and good price/value ratio! I am very satisfied!
The staff could not do enough for us. It was a great location for the grand bazaar. Lovely rooftop pool. Local restaurants were cheap and had an excellent array of local food and a taxi to Taxsim was £3 each way.
the location was great the hotel was not comfort , noisy
good location and quite, a walking distance from most of tourist locations, clean, acceptable break fast, and acceptable service some days they switch of the AC so it was terrable night
Hotel well located. Spacy room. The hammam does not work. You can not use the spa when ever you want. You have to book before, you can not share the hammam with other people.
the staff was very friendly and this nice hotel is located in the most interesting place of Istanbul, near ayia sofia and blue mosque. And with great connection with other places such as Grand bazzar and the taksim square.
Location, clean room and good beds, private use of sauna, friendly staff, spacious room for 2 persons The room in the first floor was sometimes quite noisy, in the room was lack of wardrobes especially with shelves, the lights with the key card was hard to put on, it would be nice to have some variation in the breakfast
The staff and the location. The room was fine as well
A very nice location + a very friendly staff.The Hotel is small,but nice The rooms are too small+description is wrong:rooms are not suit.for 4 persons,even for 3 pers.not comfortable(Suites).Rooms are looking to a wall,at least the suites.
Friendly staff. Accomodating. Extremely central location for Istanbul. They tried to push a tour on us but it wasnt too bad. Overall very good people!
staff service / welcome
The staff were very friendly. i felt like home. The hotel is in the middle of all attractions. The hotel is small compared with the pictures on the site
good quality for given price. Was only due to the low season I am affraid.
The location Next door construction
