Dar El Ouedghiri

The historical setting of the Dar type house, with the beautiful rooms around the central courtyard and the roof top terrace, where breakfast is served, weather permitting. The room was beautiful in style, comfortable and spacious enough, with own bathroom and toilet. The location, on a quiet side road less than 100m of one of the main streets of the medina, relatively close to the Blue Gate and the main tourist attractions of the Fès Medina is very practical. The roof top terrace which includes a shaded area, offers stunning views of the surrounding medina, including a number of mosques, and the hills around Fès. Staff are very friendly and helpful with any request, including a map of the medina with all major sites, so we didn't need a guide and still (almost) never lost our way! Lots of information on Fès, but also on the rest of Morocco was available as reading material in french and english. Breakfast was included and for the total of four nights we have spent here, included new kinds of local (spiced) bread varieties every morning.

If I really do have to mention something, I would say the bed was a little too hard.

The rooms were very colorful and comfortable with many places to relax after long days out exploring. The staff was great. Adil was extremely helpful. After waiting for our taxi, he walked with us to the property. He suggested a place to eat at our request and made a reservation for us. He served us a delicious breakfast every morning on the uppermost terrace where we could enjoy the view and the cool air. We were able to hire very knowledgeable guides at a reasonable price for three days for a walking tour of the medina and for day trips. Our location allowed us to walk all over the medina and to tour the museums. Adil also secured bus tickets for us to Chefchaouen.

It was all fine.
