The twin room we were given was spacious and faced a calm street so that we were not bothered by the traffic going through Talbot St or by the DART trains going into Connolly Station. The bathroom was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There were free newspapers every morning and coffee-making facilities in the room. The location is very convenient, close to Busarás and Connolly Station, and a good walker can get to Temple Bar and Grafton St in 10 minutes. The Irish breakfast they offer is rather substantial and comprehensive, but we thought it was a pity that apart from cereals nothing was offered that even hinted in the direction of a continental breakfast, no yoghurt, no fresh fruit, honey, sliced cheese or ham. But we have to admit that the Irish breakfast got us through the whole day.
Location is central intially one of the beds was broken so we had to switch rooms
on saturday night we could not get a drink from the bar when we asked for one. early night in dublin' bar shuts at 12.30. first for me in a hotel.
Old style designing, large and spacious, clean if a bit tired, beds were very comfortable staff was helpful
Good hotel in good location 5 mins from centre, easy to find. Nice internal. good value breakfast in the price.
Convenient location and price Extra cost for parking at IFSC
Friendly staff, no street noise in room and comfortable beds. Sound transfer through connecting door from adjoining room at normal conversation levels. Zero privacy.
The only thing I didn't like was the fact I had to pay to park my car. I have stayed in many hotels both with and without carparks and I have never had to pay before.
The pleasant staff, convenient location & comfortable bed. Also that the room was recently renovated That the breakfast wasn't included in the price.
very goos size room, with nice facilities the cracked sink in the bath room could be replaced- would give an even better impression of the hotel
Clean spacious rooms, good breakfast selection, good location (convenient for the Grand Canal Theatre), good for shopping with the Luas very close by.
The location on the Liffey is good with good access to the city and to the Airport Bus. Breakfast was very good but otherwise did not use the restaurant. Rooms spacious and well appointed There are no leisure facilities such as a pool , exercise room etc
particularly helpful and friendly staff
The bar staff were very friendly The meal in restaurant had to be sent back as was not edible, the front desk staff could just about understand English
It is very conveniently located, very close to the city centre and major transport links. It is in a very nice location on the banks of the liffey with fantastic views.
the hotel was beautiful on arrival with plenty to do around the reception area. the room was fab so comfy and plenty of space. we ate in the hotel all weekend and from the breakfast right down to the food after the concert was superb. staff were very helpful and friendly . would deffo recommend to stay here. This hotel should be a 4 star and not 3 star as rated. the only downfall was that we couldn't get breakfast in bed the next morning but other than that no problems
Location was great--close enough to walk to Temple Bar, Trinity College and many other points of interest. Staff was very helpful--upgraded our room without any trouble when we expressed our disappointment in our "superior" room. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful and the one dinner we had there was very good.
Loved everything! Very comfortable. Great location! Staff & service in the hotel & restaurant were very attentive, pleasant, & just all around wonderful! Not being able to adjust the air in my room... I'm always cool by nature. Extra blankets were provided!
Comfortable city hotel with interesting decor. Better lighting in the rooms for reading.
Location & really cozy hotel bar, decor in hotel quite funky Lack of air in corridors & bedrooms, far too warm. no air/con in hotel
lovely breakfast, nice room, location was good. no complaints at all. the temperature too warm
No air conditioning. Very hot at night
Good location for shopping and Landsdowne Rd
The purple lobby and hallways are rather awesome. The breakfast set up is well done. Garish, uncomfortable rooms located directly over a firestation where a fire engine runs 24/7. On a busy weekend, sirens go off regularly, pigeons fly in the window if you ppem it and the staff are harried.
Location was good, staff was friendly. Our room was dissappointing. Got a Deluxe room. No air conditioning so we had to open window. Very noisy being on the street. Room was small, bathroom was small and not very nice.
Central location. Helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Quiet area of Dublin Slightly gloomy decor - mood lighting in bedroom and public areas - would have liked some brighter lighting in bedroom
We stayed in one of the Georgian sweets which unfortunately didn't have an elevator but the concierge was amazing, from bringing out bags up to valeting the car to calling a cab for us to go enjoy the city. Beautiful room very comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The only negative I would say was the service in the bar. We stopped in upon arrival to grab a quick bite to eat which did not end up being quick. It seemed like the staff was more interested in talking to eachother than helping us, and when I finally flagged the bartender down he asked us if we were in a hurry, not the kind of service you would expect from a hotel of this status. On the up side the food and drinks were great and we just opted for room service for dinner.
I was looking forward to my stay in the hotel after looking at the pictures on the website. It turned out to be a very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The restaurant food was delicious!!! I have no complaints!
Friendliness and ready to help staff attitude
very nice and clean hotel. very close to the venue we needed to go to. nice friendly staff. I would stay there again. N/A
It was comfortable , clean and rooms were soundproof. Breakfast was too expensive.
Staff were very helpfull.
Friendly staff, good facilities and location
Got upgrade to an Executive Room as car park was full on checking in. Receptionist extremely helpful. Car park was full when we went to check in however was able to use car park at National College of Design just around the corner. Disappointed to find Kudo's Asian food not served on a Sat/Sun only during the week.
This hotel had a friendly atmosphere.
comfort and hospitality and location
Was upgraded to an apartment overlooking river which was very comfy and had everything we needed. all shops were close by and staff were helpful and polite. also ate in the restaurant which was enjoyable. would definitely recommend the clarion to anyone with a family. The Foyer was lacking a centre area but had lots of chairs etc...
Friendliness of staff, fully equipped room, nice and warm and comfortable
i knew it from before, and liked it. no
The friendly atmosphere and the very good location Dinner was closing at 10pm,but they permitted us to enter at 9.40 and while we were eating they where preparing the room for the nexr day's breakfast, creating a climate of anxiety. It would be more correct not to let us in,
Everything, the staff were extremely helpful, nice room, good facilities and easy to get around Dublin on foot.
Excellent shower in our room, staff very helpful, good location Breakfast ought to be included in the tariff
we had a meal in the resturant and it was fab.well priced, polite staff.
Ease of getting into town. Cleanliness of room. Good shower. Unpleasant smell in lobby (stale mop water?). Room right opposite noisy bus station and banging nightclub. Could do with better double glazing.
The rooms are too noisy. It was impossible to sleep.
Very helpful staff, being close to the City Centre and close to the bus and tram links Restaurant menu
convenient location; great breakfast rooms too hot; curtaining on windows poor, didn't exclude light; lot of noise from outside (even with windows closed) - didn't sleep well as a result
Central location, easy walking distance to many major attractions I get that it's a big city and cities are loud, but this hotel is located next a tram stop and bus station which has an announcement playing every three seconds over loud speakers until about midnight. Building was not well maintained, floors creaked so I knew when all of my neighbors, up and down, were walking. Mattresses were hard and uncomfortbale. Staff was sympathetic but didn't do much as far as alleviating issues
The common areas very clean, cozy and updated. The staff very accommodating with extremely early check in. Great areas to relax. The room we stayed in was very small and had not been upgraded. Not a room they would picture on website.
Convenient to city centre, fabulous clean modern rooms, helpful staff Noisy, by railway line
The hotels location was excellent. Connelly station right across the street. Temple bar approximately 20-25 minute walk or take the Lucas.
I liked the convenience of the location and the receptionist when checking in and out was very polite and courtious and the place was spotless. I found the night porter to be very rude and unhelpful. We arrived back to the hotel just after 2am and when we enquired about the residents bar we were told in no uncertain terms that it was closed and that it wasn't his problem. I wasn't the only guest to think this. I cant understand how the residents bar closes before all the nightclubs in the surrounding area.
Nothing apart from the friendly staff and the memory foam matress which gave me a rash and skin allergy! From the moment we went into the hotel the smell of damp musky air took the breath from us. Upon first entering the hotel it seemed pretty ok for the price that we were paying but as we entered our room how wrong were we. Middle of November with freezing tempetures outside and the window in the room open, took about an hour to heat with 'hot' air conditioning which i think was bringing in the air from the smoke room come beer garden so therfore we were choked with the fumes. The dust and dirt that was in the bedroom floor carpet was unreal considering there was 1 asthma suferer and due to this we couldnt really stay in the room too long. The bathroom was the same. And to end the so called bar downstairs--at your own risk enter!
Excellent food at both breakfast and dinner and comfotable room I know it's a public bar but the general behaviour, especially the bad language being used by some of the customers, was not what you would expect in a hotel bar. Perhaps a few words in a few ears might help make visiting the bar a more pleasant experience for hotel guests. By the way, the bar staff were very friendly and attentive.
The rooms were lovely and very comfortable
Our rooms had to be changed because of water damage at weekend but we were more than satisfied with the change and the way the hotel staff dealt with the matter. Hotel meal was nice and the entertainment good.
right on bus line to/from airport, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was great selection and service, location was also good for walking to attractions and restaurants, bar was a fun walk back into time with a intimate beer garden. bathroom had black bold, shower head or water pressure needed some work.
The hotel was well sited and just what we wanted The room we were given was next to the lift and the railway ran right passed the window.Although they didn't cause too much trouble I would think twice about booking your hotel another time
We got a free room upgrade, the staff were friendly and we loved the big comfy bed. Was very handy to get to and on site parking was great! The floors were very creaky and the walls extremely thin as we could hear people in the surrounding rooms!
friendly staff, great location
The room was nice with a re-vamp bathroom (but with some misconception) The waitress of the bar of the hotel, they don't know how to smile apparently
The Rooms -from the exterior we could not believe how luxurious and modern the rooms were. The pub was very nice, staff pleasant and polite.Had good breakfast there. The room was far superior say to a Premier Inn or similar and would have cost us a lot more in the city.We chose this hotel because it was in walking distance to concert and the city centre. Bit noisy, but what you come to expect in a city anywhere in the world.
The rooms have been newly refurbished and very nicely done. The location was great for exploring the city. It was not clear this is not a "hotel", ie. No room service, ph, etc. The internet was not working. There were issues with the new plumbing. For 2 nights I had no working toilet.. They changed me to a much smaller room that the bathroom worked. They did not offer any compensation for the issues. The first room was at the top of almost 40 stairs, with no lift and no help with luggage.
The room was convenient, good value for money, bright, simply, but well designed and well-thought out.
hotel had no details of our booking and initially said there were no rooms available. When the manager eventually found us a room it had not been cleaned
Basically this premises is some rooms over a pub, but nicely decorated and clean. Beds very comfy. We ate in the pub and it was very good. Would definitely stay there again.
The room was spacious, LCD screen, very modern bathroom with good shower. Wooden floors, street view. Overall a nice place (though we where on business there). The wifi was down due to road works. As this was a business trip that was annoying. However an hotel down the street had wifi and that was a 3 minute walk. Price of the menu was expensive but as close to the city as it was - enough food in the area. We ordered a twin room but got a room with a queen sized bed. Overall a good experience.
The design and the location, which was quite good. Not centered but close to all the attractions. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. The heating was ok, but could have been better. The room was on the first floor, next to the street, so it was a bit noisy. A room on the 2d or 3d floor coud have been great !
Modern design, close to city centre Unfriedly, rooms above the bar is noise till late
This is not a hotel, but 8 newly built guest rooms over a pub. Nice location. Well-equipped, modern, clean rooms. Friendly staff. A bit of new-faciity diseases: no warm water in the shower on one night, slamming door. A weak WiFi signal - worked ok only in the staircase, not in the room. The need to pay upfront for the whole stay.
The big modern rooms and the very helpful staff. Great value for the money!
Close to the centre, good quality breakfast Made to pay before recieving the key to the room even though i had secured it with a credit card. Only then did we realise we were not in the room we had booked. We were charged the same regardless. My girlfriend arrived before me and was not allowed into the room until she paid. I had booked it and was going to pay. So at 11pm she had the option of sitting on the street or having to pay herself. No tea making facilities, plug for the sink, stains on the floor and no heating until i asked at reception 3 times.
frendly staff,clean room,excellent location....
staff were very friendly, it was convenient for the centre of Dublin. breakfast was poor, only one towel and pillow per person. only sky news on the television
I liked the room in which we spent three of our four nights stay. The room in which we spent our first night was totally unacceptable.
I thought the staff was very friendly and warm. The room was clean and basic, which was fine for our purposes.
breakfast the room had no heating and was very cold, at reception nobody told us to ask for switch on heating in the room
Very centrally located to everything! Very spacious apartment unit - perfect for family or group of 4. Check-in was very efficient and quick, as was check-out. Power adapter in kitchen drawer was a nice surprise. Apartment is great for sleeping and eating but it's furnished very strangely and there are not towel bars in the bath nor a mirror - nothing major but don't expect luxury.
really big, comfortable and light room with huge bed and very spacious bathroom; good location; very friendly staff :) the floor in the bathroom was rather cold
Management decided to separate my party sending half to another hotel only informing us upon arrival.
Budget room in an excellent location. Expect noise as you are in the centre of the city. Rooms are tiny, showers even smaller. Bed is very hard, and parking is very limited. But location makes up for it all.
Good location Rooms a little small
In city centre and comfortable Nothing
This hotel is perfect for a budget-friendly trip. Tiny room but clean. Close to everything. Good breakfast. Room was very bare bones.
Reasonable priced.......central location Shower in room was of poor quality.
Dublin is a walking city and everything was relatively close. We had a great time in the city. The staff were always there to help, and held our bags when our flight got in super early. Dublin city inn is perfect for seeing the city and getting a good nights sleep.
Staff very friendly
Easy to find, parking available, clean, friendly staff, good price.
Clean, cheap, excellent breakfast
location was perfect, staff very helpful, comfy bed, bathroom very clean entrance to the hotel and lift needs a bit of a re-vamp, carpets need to be cleaned or changed and lampshades need to be installed in bedroom
the staff were pleasant and well mannered, in a great location if travelling by train, only thing would be to decorate the inn is a tad run down, but still a pleasat stay. none
Great staff, great rooms. We had a very comfortable stay! Would absolutely return.
The breakfast was delicious and the dining area was convenient and Only one thing. Visitors should know that there is not an elevator! Once upstairs it was fine, but a little difficult with much luggage.
First impression of pub and room was a nice place to stay with good Irish character. Bed comfortable and room quite clean. Good breakfast Traffic noise was so loud at times could not hear TV and affected sleep somewhat. Broken shower enclosure taped up and no towel rail (evidence there had been one once). Had to check out early (before breakfast served at 8) on last day and not offered any non-cooked alternative (eg fruit/cereal) although paid B&B for whole stay.Thought pub would be livelier - we didn't see any live music
Clean, beautiful, spacious
We were extremely pleased with our accomodations at O'Neills. It was exactly what the advertisement boasted - clean, friendly, and conveniently located! Would definately recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin!
d Location to city centre and convenience for all amenities. Management and staff were very helpful and friendly. One of our party is infirm and was accommodated in a lower room which was most appreciative
Friendly helpful staff Good breakfast Generally a good atmosphere Only two - bathroom ceiling was mouldy and there was no towel rail
Itís very well situated close to the main places to go in Dublin. Just 3 minutes walk fom Trinity College It is too noisy. Room windows don´t isolate you from the noise caused by the traficcit outside.Besides they are a little tight fisted about the running hours of heating systems. They switched off during night so the room is very cold when you wake up. Not to say when you to the bathroom for a morning shower.
Friendly staff, good pub downstairs (which does not cause noise in our room) The shower drain did not work very well.
Great people, looked after all your needs very helpfull without being intrusive, food excellent with a traditional Irish pub thrown in, what more do you want? We live in a very quiet area and found the traffic noise a bit too much, but a word with Hughie in the morn and he sorted us a room at the rear and problem solved
Very cute / attractive building, and close walk to all the sights of Dublin. Great pub on first floor.
We liked the location, convenient for shopping and within walking distance of tourist attractions and eating places. Not easy to access staff when the pub was closed.
Decent location Where to start? The parking: really didn't appreciate having to back out 4 other cars from a really tight garage at 6 in the morning upon leaving so I could get our one out from the back. You seriously can't expect customers to do that kind of thing. The noise: our room was noisiest I had ever stayed in. No double glazing or sound proofing at all so you could hear everything from the busy main road outside, which combined with the really loud banging and screeching from the water tank directly above our bed which went on all night. Barely got a wink of sleep the whole stay! The other problems were: filthy bathroom, dodgy plug socket, no lift, 2 single mattresses on a double bed, having to give your key in every time you went out. Not good!
Good location, rooms were not wonderful but were good value for the price. Four flights of stairs to my room. Exhausting.
the staff were really good and extremely friendly and helpful 4 floors up some very steep stairs
Room was clean and location was good. Having to check key in/out at front desk every time you come/go is inconvenient.
Liked the people - cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. They were really terrific. The weather was absolutely miserable. The view from the window. The tv didn't work well.
Central location to the city centre Parking facilities, ramp covered in plywood not such a good idea
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from. It was located close to the city centre (5 min walk to O'connell st), shops, restaurants, bus services etc. The room we stayed in (at the front of the hotel) could be noisy at and during the night as the window was not double glazed and the hotel is on a busy road but it did not spoil our stay in the slightest. The curtain was too short for the window and resulted in a draught but again not troublesome enough to complain about. We were more than happy with the room and facilities
l liked that the sheets were clean and that the hotel was central. The staff were not very welcoming are friendly ,however the young man that was on duty in the evening was very polite and friendly. And the fact that l got clamped for parking outside for 4 mins while l went into get the key for the carpark ,there is no facility where you can park legally for a few mins until you get your key.
The price was what drew me to the hazelbrook. Also I was happy that there was free parking and breakfast. The room was very dated with broken bits of furniture (missing handles from drawers and shower door off its rollar) and holes in the tiles in the bathroom. Also the phone did not work in our room.
pleasant staff, excellent breakfast, excellent location 5 minutes walk from the main bus station, tourist office, stores, restaurants, tour bus stop...
Comfortable room, brand new and very clean. Luxury bathroom. Central location. Helpful and friendly staff. Not much storage for our clothes, but it was a new annexe and was still unfinished. No mirror in the room (possibly for the same reason.) Studio-style room with huge window to floor level - Had to keep curtains closed for privacy because overlooked by opposite buildings. - could do with blinds or nets.
Close to bus station and railway. Staff attitude, lack of mobility accessibility despite my direct questioning, shoddy building, cramped room, plumbing problems - all in new rooms.
Very close to the central bus station, city centre, most sites within walking distance. Warm room. Rooms only adequate, corners grubby in bathroom/bedroom, carpet frayed, no mirror at all to be able to dry hair in front of. Mirror in bathroom but no plugpoint anywhere near.
For one day there was no water for 8 hours. Apparently we were notified via a scribbled note on the front of an open door of the building the day before. There was little apology.
The breakfast at the guesthouse was really good and the staff were very friendly n/a
Location Bed - mattress, pillows, blankets, curtains -decor. The first night I had a stiff neck and I also had to request more blankets as there was only one available in the room. There was also no decaffeinated coffee available. I could not even request a boiled egg as they did not have the facilities to boil them. I would also not call the breakfast an Irish breakfast it's not any different to a normal english breakfast.
the proximity of the hotel was fantastic couldn't fault it no heating in the room even though it was -5 degrees, although there was heating on in the reception, the room was at the end of a corridor which the door was left open all night long, constant traffic going along the corridor, would recomend this hotel if not in the same room as i was
Kind help from the receptionist. Quick cleaning of tables at breakfast. Our neighbour had forgotten to turn off their bathroom ventilator. It makes quite a noise during the night. The power should turn it off, when the room is left. Ie by a card by the door to turn on the light etc.
The location Very basic, small room, small dining room, poor breakfast menu
The rooms are small but comfortable. Shower was new and very clean. Situated in close proximity to all the shops and train station. Some noise coming from coridor, could have been another room. pritty annoying.
I did like the location and also the staff warmness and welcoming. The location is very great one to be in town and in the heat of Dublin. I was in Clifton for the second time but to be honest, the first time I did enjoy staying there but the second time I was not that happy because the room given to be was not like the first one. Particularly the bed in room 104 was not good at all...every turn around while sleeping was a different noise..Bed was not good which affected our sleep..and tv did not have remote control . Apart that, I would say it was okay to be at Clifton Hotel.
