Some remodeling in progress, but wasn't too bad.
Love the free drinks and breadfast. Hotel was in remodeling and didn't state on the site when we booked. loud noises during staying. I rated this hotel 3 star.
Very late check out and a nice gentleman named Nicholas that was very accominadating to my son and I. Nothing.
Clean, nice room, location, gym, good bar and bartender, ok breakfast
Cookies Breakfast Happy Hour Low Shower Pressure
Very comfortable, no complaints about the accomodations. When I called to upgrade the room to one with two Queen sized beds, the staff did not inform me that there was an extra charge for an additional person, more than 2 people. It was a nominal fee but I wish we had been told in advance.
Close to downtown, can walk to bars and restaurants, complimentary breakfast. There seems to be a homeless population in Chico that hangs around the area. Pretty harmless, but as a young business woman, not exactly comforting.
Close to campus and downtown, breakfast provided
well maintain nothing
Quality of decor and cleanliness far above a 2 star hotel. Well appointed with a flat screen TV, nice clean linens, refrigerator, microwave. Room size small, but typical of 1 star hotel. Attractive landscaping added to quality experience. Skip the spartan breakfast and go to The Morning Thunder Cafe 5 minutes away.
I liked the location. With the hotel being downtown I had easy access to everything I needed to do without having to drive. There was a lack of parking and the room had a funky smell to it.
The room was very clean and updated. The breakfast was very acceptable. I have already booked another stay when I bring my son up to start Chico State. Some details.........couldn't find the remote...it was underneath the bed. The phone didn't work, so we had to walk to the front desk if we needed anything. Pool was really small.
Friendly staff, great decor, centrally located, historic The price is kind of outrageous, especially for the area. Chico is a small, simple little town. We stayed here for our wedding night and then went to Monterey for our honeymoon. We paid less for a spa and suite with equally friendly staff, pet friendly and a badass restaurant in Monterey. Kind of odd.
The staff, especially the folks that work in the bar at night. They are awesome! Great service! The Mai Tais were unbelievable! I thought I was at Trader Vics for a minute. Great people! Young Indian guy who's been there a while, he's really good. The gal, Lecinda, or Letitia, or something similar was super nice! Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable. I will be back. The heat. It gets a little hot in Chico in the summer. But I loved the Ramada!
Common spaces were very well kept and inviting. Staff were kind and accommodating. The room was not as clean as I would have hoped. It needed a deep cleaning.
We liked the refrigerator and microwave in the room. We brought dinner in and it made it easier to keep things cold and warm them up when we wanted them. It was quiet as we were by the elevator but didn't hear it because we had the fan on. It didn't feel right. We pulled into the parking lot with Super 8 and Motel 6 in the same lot. Those are hotels I avoid and wasn't thrilled knowing this was among them. The pillows were very uncomfortable. One was stiff and the other was lumpy and not filled.
The hotel is very clean. The rooms are up to date and are furnished tastefully. The beds were comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. The included hot breakfast was excellent. And the staff did such a nice job of being helpful and friendly. This is an extremely well-run hotel. The only things I didn't like was, (1) that the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, and (2) it was cold at the seating area / lobby at the entrance of their conference center. The heating doesn't seem to reach this entryway.
Staff was great. Hotel bar is fantastic with live music. Clean and comfortable
Helpful at the desk and friendly Handicap not really handicap. Tub to small and chair did not fit tub.
Cheap Danishes Location close to downtown and a 24-hour diner Cable tv No lock on window Smelled like smoke Saw a bug Dingy towels Loud guests in other rooms
Room I ordered was not available. Loud!
That it was convenient to my place of the event I was attending. Oh my god, the room would not cool down. When I showered, the towels were like sand paper, and the iron board was disgusting, I couldnt even iron my clothes. I asked for a king size bed and it wasn't ready, so i got a room with 2 beds for one person.
That it was right in the heart of Downtown Chico, close to shopping, food, and CSU. Plenty of storage room for clothes. The rooms were old, rundown and in need of serious updating.
Location in downtown Chico. The whole place. It's rundown, not in good repair, especially in the room (outside nothing to be proud of with it's peeling paint). The bed sloped to one side, the A/C unit was next to the bed making it noisy and irritating.
Street noise on a Saturday night!!! Yelling and honking when the bars closed down.
Rooms were clean and a value for the money. Had some problems like the shower head blew off when taking a shower, had a hard time to get it fixed. Had to in the end change rooms and in that room had a leak in the sink a repair was made and the maintenance man then broke the stopper.
Location Horrible odors in room. Gross stains in carpet and bed. Could not stay the night and drive two hrs at 1 in the morning to get home instead.
Nothing at all. Bad choice. Go next door to America Best Value or Heritage Inn. The AC unit was barely functioning and struggled to keep the room livable. There were bugs in the bathroom and on the desk. It was horrible. People were hanging outside their rooms and their cars boing loud music and yelling the entire time. The cars probably didn't even work because the hood of their cars were propped up the entire time. They were more than likely selling drugs. Horrible place to stay.
nothing the bathroom had mold in the shower-the ceiling in the bath room was coming down - shower curtain was a joke over all the room was a total disappointment.
Location, A/C worked well, Comfie bed Dirty carpet, roaches is room
POOL WAS INOP AC IN MY ROOM DIDN'T WOK
Our air conditioner/heater did not have an adjuster. We had to have our window open during the day. Also the hair dryer did not work at all.
Friendly staff Hot tub broken
The location was convenient to where I was going. Decently clean. Fridge and microwave were nice. The WiFi was not accessible it was so low. When I asked the front desk they referred me to an 800 number for tech support, after waiting over 20 minutes with no answer I gave up. We had four people in our room and there were 3 towels. Again I asked at the front desk, I was told housekeeping would bring one by...she brought two hand towels and two wash cloths. The pool is inthe corner of the parking lot and shady most of the day, was hoping for some sun. Sink water temp was uncontrolable, scalding or ice cold. Definitely not worth the price. Will not be staying here again.
Very comfortable for my husband, self and 2 cats at night, then filled with a dozen family members during the day for Christmas festivities. Was crowded but worked out very well. I was allowed to borrow 6 chairs from the conference room and we made it work. Lots of electrical outlets for our crockpots and buffet warmers, kitchen well stocked with utensils. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel and will stay there again myself! The hotel was undergoing a remodel, our room looked very nice, but there was a slight smell of paint coming through the vents. Not bad considering they can't close entirely while remodeling and we really needed a hotel with a kitchen! All of the staff were wonderful except the woman who checked us in, a manager I think. Not a smile or extra word of welcome there...
I enjoyed the pool and the very clean bathrooms in the hotel room. I had requested a king bed online and ended up with two double beds. It ended up fine, but it wasn't what I had reserved initially.
Central location in downtown area of Chico
The shower The air conditioner did not cool the room sufficiently
Clean room and great location.Friendly staff. Street noise,l mediocre "Breakfast."
I arrived and they had absolutely no record of my booking. I was lucky to get a room, because it happened to be graduation week. I will not book with you again. Th wake up call I scheduled did not materialize. The clock radio in the room was broken.
Quiet. Help with the TV remote. Good breakfast included. Good location no
Air conditioning, large bathroom, clean rooms, relatively quiet.
It was a good overnight spot while dropping son at Chico State
The locations was right down town Chico so there was no need to drive. For the price of the hotel and location it is a great deal! The room was nice but the AC kicked on and off all the time and there was never a even temp in the room. The bed was very firm.
Use of pool, near downtown
Was in Chico for sons graduation. Basically slept and showed, 6 hour stay. Friendly staff, overall clean would stay again for the same reason.
My friend and I stayed at this motel overnight after a concert. We arrived in the day time and the room didn't look too shabby at all. Good for the price. There were older men sitting outside in the sun and kids riding their bikes around the parking lot, so I didn't get a bad vibe at all. And the location is great only 5 minutes from downtown. The room didn't look dirty. Can't speak on the bed since e brought our own blankets and didn't sleep under the covers. When checking in, the staff wasn't that friendly, but whatever we were only there for one night. As far as amenities, the water was like warm and the fridge didn't work which we discovered the next morning when all of our food/drinks weren't cold. Didn't feel too safe late at night for a couple young women. As we were getting out of a cab, some older man hopped in to ask if we had fun, and then disappeared. The taxi driver said he was a tweaker. Scared the crap out of us! Not too long later, someone was banging on our door at like 1am. When we responded through the door, it was a man yelling "You got a cup?!". Definitely made sure every lock was locked that night!
the staff clean room
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Close to the freeway, was fairly clean. Hairs left in shower and on bathroom floor. Staff checked with us after we were settled to make sure everything thing was ok. I forgot to show my AARP card and was advised that since they had already processed the payment there was nothing they could do, can't payments be credited and reran?
It had a pool & frig. Absolute WORST mattress We ever slept on :( Could feel the springs in our backs when laying on it. Used a exercise mat we had with us to cover the mattress. It was extra noisy with highway and people next door through the night,
The pricing was good. Do not change that. No free Wi-Fi
My room was clean and the staff was friendly. The freeway is close so could get a bit noisy. Small towels.
Ease of transactions. Bathrooms were nice. People talking outside the room at all hours of the night.
Price Failure to provide adequate service
Pet friendly Small rooms, no iron, very basic.
The rate was low and the bed was comfortable. Hotel is pretty run down and the atmosphere there is pretty dodgy. The smell of cigarette smoke permeates even the non smoking rooms. The bedside light in my room did not work.
Hair all over, scummy shower, no washcloths, funky stains on the chair. Didn't want to touch anything.
it's cheap old & run down
Room had WiFi, good TV, comfortable beds and was clean. Breakfast options were very basic (waffles, cereal, toast) and coffee was weak. Furniture in room was pretty worn with many scratches and chips.
moderate neighborhood, in the city, easy to get anything We are not smokers and we had a baby with us, but you gave us a smoker room. In order to get a non smoker room; we had to spend another $40. So at the end we pay more than having a good deal from online booking. It was a bad deal
The neighborhood it was located was very nice and quiet compared to some hotels next to the freeway. The people who worked there were nice and the room seemed to be a good size, not too small.
The location is great, located very close to the downtown. I reserved and paid for a room with a king sized bed but was told Kayak/hotels.com overbooked the reservation and therefore, since I had already paid for the reservation, I must take what they have available. Unfortunately this meant staying in a room with a double sized bed and a bathroom with a shower/bathtub that did not work. For the money paid for a room with a double sized bed, I could have stayed elsewhere of higher quality. This was a horrible experience. I would advise people not to stay at this motel because it is a racket that over promises (or over books) and price gouges their customers through strongarm tactics.
I loved the jacuzzi tub and location in downtown. It was also across the street from an awesome beer bar and restaurants are within walking distance. Our hotel room was not clean upon arrival, very little toiletries and towels were provided. Not bad if you aren't used to staying at places like Hyatt. (Which I do for business)
noting but the location was ok but lot of homeless peoples the hotel need a bad made over the staff was very unfiendley and new noting about the town i ASK THE CLARK WERE BANK OF AMERICAN WAS HE DID NOT NOW IT WAS TWO BLOCK AWAY ON THE SAME STREET
Clean with all the amenities expected at this price. Quiet location, GREAT for pets (small field in back for dogs). I have stayed at many of the chain and local motels in Chico over the years and there is no reason this place should be rated lower than any chain (for sure). This is my favorite place to stay (under $100/night) in Chico. There is always some small issue with the room: the AC controls are funky, the TV picture is not perfect, etc. But to be fair I have never felt anything so bad that I complained about it. Room 39 internet is intermittent, but has been excellent in all the other rooms I've stayed in there. If internet is important to you, be sure to check it when you get your room and before you move your stuff in...
Seemed like they have long term tenants who were rather seedy. I made sure my door was locked at night and took my valuables with me each day. Didn't feel very safe.
I enjoyed the transients walking through the parking lot at midnight. Along with the scary movie atmosphere of the hotel. Oh, and the smell. I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car. About $65 over priced. You can't fit in the shower if unless you're a contortionist. Seriously, the worst place I've ever stayed in my life. Spend the money, stay at Oxford.
Maybe the location. The people were rude and not at all helpful: "You don't need to know our names, whoever is at this front desk will help you". The room: no bathroom soap (of course this was probably on purpose because the shower had no soap dish, tray, ledge or anything else: had to use the floor), dirty, and nothing worked well.
The bed was comfortable, everything seemed exactly what was expected of a 2/5 rated place I didn't like that one of the desk guys working there mis used my information and CALLED my personal cell phone to ask if I wanted to meet up and wanted to talk to me when I was alone. He called multiple times and harassed me in the same conduct. A police report is being made, definite creep.
Fridge didn't work and no chain type lock for the door
