Cons: Old building. Multiple layers of paint. Room smell awful. Musty
Pros: Staff was curt round and efficient. Security guard was located by door and in patrolling parking lot at night.
Cons: Room smelled of cigarette smoke- not over- whelming just unexpected.
Pros: The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The Breakfast was outstanding.
Cons: Wish there was a pool
Cons: Rooms were very cramped. I stayed on a Thursday night, before a holiday weekend, and feel I paid entirely too much money, especially after I saw what I got. The breakfast was below avg as far as hotel free breakfasts go, of which I've had a lot.
Pros: We expected a clean, medium priced room and that is what we got. As a bonus, the staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The full breakfast was nice also!
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful!
Cons: I did not like the bathroom door because it would not shut all the way.
Pros: The staff was very friendly!
Cons: The bathroom door did not shut properly.

Pros: For my first week as a business traveler, I was quite impressed. The rooms are like a home away from home. Comfy beds, sofa and clean rooms. All I had to provide was groceries. I'm very pleased and will return often for my business travel.
Cons: Nothing. I'm very pleased. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during my stay.

Pros: Polite staff and location to the Civic Center. View of the river and a fire pit outside close to it. Clean with a welcoming entrance.
Cons: Reserved double queen with pullout couch. GOT single king with pullout couch right next to the elevator. 3rd party website said cots were available but this hotel does not have them. Staff ensured that fold out couch would make a queen bed...not even close; super single at best. Although very polite the staff made no effort to help me out. Blamed the booking site. Called Hotel.com and my call was finally taken by an Indian woman that I could barely understand in a large office with quite a bit of background noise. Of course bookings are "subject to availability" even though I paid for something else. So she blames the hotel. Very poor customer service from both parties. Will not use either again.

Pros: The staff was very courteous and kind. I chose this hotel specifically based on the KAYAK reviews. For $125 for less than 12 hours, I felt it was a safe bet.
Cons: The light in the bathroom (with connected fan) was so incredibly loud that my children would not turn the light on or close the door. At 11pm, the people above us chose to shower and it was as if they were in the room with us. I could not believe the lack of soundproofing, it was ridiculous. And that bathroom was just out of the question.

Pros: The front desk staff was courteous, and the room was very clean.
Cons: The room was a little small, but it had everything we needed.
Pros: Location was good--very easy access on and off I-64. The bed was comfortable and the AC was good.
Cons: The room was very small, The TV was small and placed high on the wall above the desk making viewing from the desk uncomfortable. The "High Speed" internet is a awful. Highest speed in the morning tested at 2 Mbps and slowed down in the evening. The system kept disconnecting the internet access making it very frustrating to use. Ended up tethering to my data plan on my phone.
Pros: Every thing except the pillows. :-)
Cons: Bring a pillow from home with you.

Pros: Staff very friendly, helpful using shuttle to take us to local restaurant where parking didn't exist. Beds comfortable, clean, and shower was great!
Cons: Pool very small and was overrun by small very loud children with a teen sitting with them. Missed the breakfast found at other hotels we stayed in during our 5 day road trip, charged for parking behind hotel, only location we have been charged for parking. New batch of keys didn't all work, given 2 keys but only one would work, several other customers in line to get keys replaced.
Pros: They're an awesome sports bar that's attached to the hotel.
Cons: Wish they had ports so that you can charge your electronic devices
Pros: Nice rooms in heart of town.
Cons: Room booked was not available. Checked in and was give room with 2 double beds. 2nd check was able to switch to king bed handicap room.
Pros: Location was great, staff was friendly, decor was fresh
Cons: Pillows were terrible, hallway noise was very loud
Pros: Good location and very nice river view
Cons: Facility needs a face lift. Should be due for a remodel.
Pros: Comfy bed, very clean, everything is new and fresh. Rooms are quiet, you can't hear people in the halls or above you. Room service good, food is decent. Location is cool right on the river. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Cons: $10 parking surcharge which they tell you about after you check in and you don't have a choice you have to pay it. No free breakfast (at this price should be included), front desk staff grumpy & gives slight attitude. Both nights different people were rude to me. Parking garage is creepy.
Pros: Mia at the front desk was very helpful in resolving a mistake I made with my reservation. There was also a new young man who was in training. He was sharp and very proffessional
Cons: Parking building as well as the way you had to get there was very dreary.
Pros: Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite things:
Craft beer at the bar
Updated decor-- very swank
Cons: No free breakfast = sad face
Pros: Great bed. Slept awesome. Very clean. Loved it.

Pros: Beds were comfortable, breakfast was convenient. Staff was friendly and heloful. The pool was beautiful and would have been great for the kids, but it was under renovation. They did offer us to use another hotels pool aboit 10 minutes away, but i did not feel like traveling.
Cons: Bathrooms wrre not updated. There was a rusty tyoe ring in the sink and the the shower had several spots that appeared to have been touched upp witj porcelain paint. The room was cramped snd small. Therre was left over candy in one of the drawers from a previous guest. Pool was under renovation.
Pros: The ease of making the reservation which cost $145+ BUT... (See Next Panel > What I Didn't Like)
Cons: The fact that $ 93.91 Is Still Lingering on my Credit Card as a "Pending" Charge makes me Very Nervous!!!
Pros: The hot tub was great!
Cons: There was nothing negative.
Cons: We woke up in the middle of the night to a very smelly room. We were not sure what caused it. If it had been earlier we would have moved.
Pros: Great value-access to Holiday in amenities-good tasting-free-breakfast -computer and printer access-Central location
Cons: Little wear and tear -bathroom ceiling- Near train tracks-and Dow plant-high chemical content in the spa-hot-tub made my eyes red -had to cover my face to stand the chemicals-Most likely not their fault though- Stay but skip the hot-tub. The work out room was nice -wished for some lighter weights 8lbs & 12lbs would have been good for the ladies. Very good over all -would stay again :)
Cons: Dangerous toaster. Got painful burn.
Conveniently located off Interstate 64, this Wingate by Wyndham Charleston is near Yeager Airport, downtown Charleston, Little Creek Golf Course, museums, Mardis Gras Casinos & Resort, and many local restaurants. Ideal for both work and play, this smoke-free lodging offers complimentary hot breakfast, complimentary internet, airport shuttle service, fitness center, hot tub, meeting rooms, board room, and 24-hour business center with complimentary print, copy and fax services. There is no charge for children under 17 when staying with an adult. Guest room amenities include microwave, refrigerator, safe, HBO and newspaper. Suites and handicapped accessible rooms are also available.
Cons: Paying extra for parking. Inflated cost of items in hotel shop. No exhaust fan in bathroom.
Pros: The staff was helpful and communicative. The room was clean.
Cons: This particular hotel is one of the most expensive in the area, and there are zero addons. The WiFi is an additional fee, parking is an additional fee (and an outrageous 14 per day for hotel guests), there is no continental breakfast or complimentary items. I am not trying to sound cheap or trashy, but for the price of just parking I could have taken a cab from a less expensive hotel with free breakfast and Internet that was equally as comfortable and well-staffed.
Pros: Great stay from beginning to end. Once the car was parked. It stayed parked. Everything was within walking distance. Friendly staff. JOY was the wonderful front counter assistant who was not only a friendly face but helpful in suggestions on food and night life. We will definitely be back.
Pros: Proximity to the Civic Center & Towne Center Mall, restaurants, etc.is perfect.
Cons: For the price, a small (free) Continental breakfast would have been nice. The pay-for breakfast prices were a bit high. Just some pastries, fruit and/or yogurt along w/ unlimited coffee and juice would have been a great extra. However, it was the perfect place to stay when attending event (Winter Jam Tour) @ the civic center.

Pros: Staff is very good. Very responsive. Breakfast is great
Pros: The room was neatly arranged and well kept and clean
Cons: I did not have much to complain about.
Pros: We checked in late in the evening and the front desk attendant was happy and very helpful. The breakfast options were a wonderful addition since we were in an unfamiliar city.
Cons: Room was dirty and smelled like mold. Also was very humid in room.
Cons: Lack of items available for purchase to eat late at night
Pros: Employees very friendly.
Cons: stains on the carpet in our room.
Pros: This hotel has the best morning breakfast available for Free! Neat and tidy rooms.
Pros: Location is great and near many things especially Civic Center. Breakfast was nice, 24hr lobby coffee is great, super nice staff.
Cons: The shower had not been cleaned and we arrived around midnight so no one available to clean and no other room to move to. We had to clean ourselves to get through which wasn't the experience I was hoping for.
Pros: Helpful staff
Pros: Location is convenient for mall and civic center.
Cons: Everything. It's filthy, the staff wasn't very much help, and the breakfast was gross. Don't pay more than $---- for this place.
Pros: Walking distance to the civic center.
Cons: Service was terrible. Hotel was filthy. My room randomly wouldn't get cleaned and I had to call the service desk for everything. And I caught the respiratory flu while I was there.
Pros: Hotel was busy, but the staff still took the time to be friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us, which included getting a cot at midnight and getting breakfast even though we came down late.

Pros: Conveniently located right off of the highway, large room and bath. Bed and pillows were comfortable.
Cons: Stray hairs in the bathtub. Window was leaking and seemed to have mold around the frame. Wifi wouldn't work and there was no phone reception either. If you have kids who are attached to their devices I wish you luck!! If you're looking for a front desk employee look out at the tables on the front porch, they're out there smoking.
Pros: Easy access. Room spacious.
Cons: Hvac was problematic. Breakfast was ok not good.
Pros: Nice workout equipment, clean pool & great breakfast.
Cons: Had a pre-paid reservation, the lady who checked us in was extremely nice, but not good with her computer. At first she could not find our reservation, then she did not recognize our rewards card, then she claimed my credit card was declined, I had a several thousand dollar limit & while I went to give her another one, the original was approved. This was a big hassle considering the room was booked & paid for already, I had the print out of it as well & it took a long time to check in. I am a frequent traveler & was very disappointed with this, it was frustrating & embarssing. May I suggest a technology class or more training for the clerk. I had traveled over 500 miles in a car filled with traffic, thinking check in would be a breeze, wanting to rest & this was not the case.
Pros: Great place to stay. Very convenient. Plenty of restaurants close by. Room was very nice and clean. Staff was polite and helpful with local directions.
Cons: They only have feather pillows on the beds. You have to ask for regular (non-feather) pillows when making reservations or there might not be one available. Or bring your own.
Pros: Clean, spacious room, decent breakfast.
Cons: Nearby truck and rail traffic was heard all night (window was closed).
Nestled at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains in the beautiful Upper Kanawha Valley, the hotel is just a few hundred yards from the interstate entrance and exit. Located on the edge of town, the hotel allows for a wonderful relaxing country atmosphere while only 6 miles from the city center and the 130 store Town Center Mall, 8 miles from the airport and minutes from major businesses. 2017 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner.
Pros: The staff was AWESOME! I was traveling with my son and my dog and their dog rules are a bit strict. You can't leave your dog in your room because they'll disturb the other guests but you also can't take your dog into the dining area because of health code. So I asked the staff how I was supposed to get breakfast. They held my dog's leash while I got breakfast, got me boxes and a grocery bag so I go carry it up to my room. The also helped me get the food in the box because I was holding my 8 month old son and got me juice in a to go cup! They offered to help me upstairs but I declined. Just an overall great experience with the staff.
The rooms were very clean for being dog friendly and they had an outside area for dogs that looked like you could let them off leash.
Cons: A few things I didn't like was that there wasn't a crib available for my son so we both slept horribly.
The other thing is that their breakfast wasn't complimentary. Perhaps that's silly to say but think that it should be.
Pros: Very clean, modern, well-maintained.
Cons: Restaurant/room service is a nightmare and it was a struggle to get it eventually removed from my bill.

Pros: Staff was great, room itself was quite nice.
Cons: Your description included both fridge and microwave in the room -- there was neither. That meant that I had to bet ice three times after check-in at around 8:00 pm in order to keep medicines cold.
Price was too high for the area and no AARP or other discounts available because of booking through you folks. I won't do it again.
Pros: I like that they change the duvet cover everyday. Those covers can get pretty rank. The bed was firm and even the sheets felt nice.
Pros: The room was very clean and quite a very short walk to the civic center
The Hampton Inn Charleston-Downtown hotel in West Virginia is located at the corner of VA Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Meeting/banquet facilities are available for a nominal fee. We love having you here in West Virginia at the Hampton Inn Charleston-Downtown hotel!
Cons: Only one chair, traveling with friends and wanted to play cards. Got caught by the "chair police" trying to use a chair from their room to play cards. Had to put it back under threat of " I will have to charge you $500 if you scratch that chair." We put it back and used the plastic chair he brought to us. We are all in or sixties and thought we looked like responsible adults, but evidently we were wrong.
Pros: Clean rooms, had everything we would need except a coffee maker, but they had coffee in the office. Would definitely stay there again!
Pros: The staff changed my room to the river side, away from traffic noise, cheerfully without reservation. They offered advice for restaurants, and were very pleasant. The location on the river was picturesque and the price was outstanding. Very very clean.
Cons: There are no extras - shampoos, lotions, etc. Not a big deal. I wish it were just a bit closer to downtown Charleston to enjoy the restaurant scene somewhat easier, but again, not a big deal.
When visiting Charleston, Budget Host Inn Charleston is a great choice to consider. Guests will have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Located in the heart of Charleston, this bed & breakfast is within a 10-minute walk of Kanawha Riflemens Memorial Park, East End Historic District, and Cultural Center. World War I Memorial Building and West Virginia State Capitol Building are also within 10 minutes.
Pros: Room had a bad smell of mold. Check-in was slow at 9 PM. Breakfast options were poor.
The Days Inn Charleston East is conveniently located off of I-77 at Exit 95 within the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Close to the Kanawha River, our Days Inn offers a variety of spacious rooms including River views and Jacuzzi rooms. We offer Free Wireless High Speed Internet, Free Daybreak Continental Breakfast daily from 630AM - 930 AM, Free Local Calls, Seasonal Outdoor Pool, and large meeting room for your meeting needs. All guestrooms have a Microwave, Refrigerator, Coffee Maker, Iron/Ironing Board and Hair Dryer, You will enjoy our spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, at a great value with good old fashioned Southern Hospitality.
Pros: Staff were friendly, room was comfortable. No frills, but perfect for our needs and the bed was very comfortable. There are two separate buildings here, at 90 degree angles to each other.
We liked the wood-grain laminate floors. It felt cleaner than other hotels which have carpeted floors.
Cons: The signage wasn't clear, and had I not known exactly where it was, behind a Motel 6 and another building, it might have been confusing, or even impossible for an out-of-towner to figure it out. The parking lot needs repaving.
I should have asked ahead whether there was an elevator on site. There is not. I have some difficulty with stairs, and we were on the second floor, but it worked out. We were able to park near the stairs.
It would be nice to have one full-length mirror in the room. We could have used a standard box of tissues, rather than the pocket pack provided. Also, there was no extra roll of toilet paper, only what was on the roll when we arrived. It was okay for our two-night stay.
There is no pool, as far as I could see.
Pros: Comfortable bed, warm shower, right off of the freeway.
Cons: Make sure u sleep opposite side of the freeway and turn your fan on.
Pros: Clean and recently renovated
Cons: Blankets, sink counter, bath tub, floor, drawers where all not cleaned. Seem housekeeping totally didn't clean the room. You really get what you pay for. Very dissaponting stay but charging to experience.
Pros: Liked laminated wood floor instead of carpet
Cons: Low shower water pressure
Pros: The front desk staff were very welcoming and warm.
Cons: The room that my husband and I stayed in was fairly clean. There was some dirt around the a/c unit and under the mini fridge. However, the room that we got for my parents had hairs in the bed and dirt that had clearly been swept under the refrigerator. In addition, there were several guests standing outside arguing loudly and smoking.
Cons: Upon arrival, the front desk worker told us that our room may or may not be clean. He said their housekeeping team did not care very much and management didn't seem to want to do anything about it. The floors in the room were unswept with pet and human hair everywhere. Beds were made, but sheets did not look clean. The bathroom needed many repairs as well. We had already paid for the room so we asked for clean sheets, made our own bed, and had a poor nights sleep. We left the hotel as soon as we old in the morning. We will definitely not be back to this location.
Cons: This hotel is not a good place to stay, especially if you have young children. When we returned to our room that night there was a party going on with lots of people hanging around outside. The next morning there were empty condom boxes beside our car. We did not stay the next night. It was bad enough we were willing to lose our money. Definitely not a family hotel.
Pros: We chose the hotel based on proximity to a 2-day event we were attending. We stayed for two nights and we will definitely be back! The hotel staff was friendly, courteous, helpful, and went above and beyond to make us happy and comfortable. This applied to every hotel staff member we encountered, not just one! Check in/out was simple and accurate, the room was clean, warm, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed including a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and safe. There was even a box in our room for the type of room we chose- it contained complimentary bottled water, orange juice, granola bars, trail mix, and microwave popcorn. I could not believe the $54/night price tag. There was not a continental breakfast available, but there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance so that was not a problem. It was a wonderful experience!!
Cons: I prefer a hotel room with a door that opens to the inside of a building/hallway rather than to an outdoor parking lot/balcony, but it was still fine.
Pros: It was very easy to check in and find my room. Parking was not a problem. The hotel is right next to the interstate, so getting around town was not a problem. The hotel was clean and very comfortable.
Cons: Finding the place was somewhat difficult to find, as there were other hotels positioned on the same road. The hotel was not well marked or easily seen until I was right on top of it. The hotel itself does not offer any breakfast or facilities to work out in as well.
Pros: Newly updated rooms.
Cons: The first room had sticky stuff on the floor. They gave us another room which had a cigarette butt and dust on the shelf
Pros: Good, solid stay!
A great 100 percent Smoke-Free Charleston location, this Red Roof Inn just minutes from the gold-domed Capitol Building, the Clay Center, the Civic Center, and the University of Charleston. Its an easy 15 minute drive to West Virginia Tech and West Virginia State University as well. The Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center is also close to this hotel. This Red Roof has easy access to such outdoor activities as skiing, whitewater rafting, and golf.
Pros: The room is clean and comfortable. Great parking.
Cons: The pool was under construction and we were not told about it.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the staff was nice.
Cons: Seems like everything was outdated, there was no continental breakfast when it stated that there was going to be one.
Pros: Inexpensive, 10-15" from downtown, very nice staff. No frills.
Cons: Left after first night because of roaches. When roaches are crawling on you while you sleep its time to leave. We will NEVER stay here again.
Pros: The fact that they returned our money
Cons: We did not like the filthy smell when we entered the room or the crumbs, scabs or who knows what when we pulled back the sheets
Pros: Easy check in, clean rooms.
Cons: There were only two very small pillows on the king sized bed. We pulled some of the sofa cushions over to the bed for adequate comfort.
Pros: Location is good easy to get too
Cons: My reservations through Hotels.com were messed up by one day . I had to rebook the night stay. I had to pay for the room because as I was told my original reservation had to be canceled. I was also told that the money I spent on the original reservation couldn't be transferred to the new reservation. So I had to pay more for the same room and to date I am still waiting on the refund it's been 2 weeks now going on 3 weeks and I was told it was the fault of the billing & accounting department from the booking site. I was told sorry it's our fault and nothing was offered to compensate for their mess up and I still have to wait for when they can supposedly expedite the refund. 2 to 3 weeks isn't expedited in my book

Pros: I needed a taxi and none was forthcoming. The front desk lady offered to get one of her housekeepers to assist. I was so grateful. Of course the taxi came just the.
Cons: My room was not yet refurbished. The white sheets had seen better days. The hangers were falling apart. The housekeeper came and knocked on my door at nine in the morning to see if I was still there. Check out is 11. Why not check with the front desk?
Pros: Location and friendly staff
Cons: Air conditioning unit would run for awhile and then shut off. I was on the 7th floor so the room heated up quickly but the unit wouldn't come back on for awhile and the room would get too warm for me...especially during the night.
Pros: Room was nice. Continental breakfast had alot of selections
Pros: Stayed here for 3 days an had a great experience. Great location, clean facility, pool, hot tub, an all the staff members were very friendly.
Pros: Great value, the center of Charleston all within walking distance
Cons: Parking was not secure
Pros: Friendly staff excellent breakfast
Pros: room was clean, and you can't beat the price. Close to the interstate, and while not really in walking distance, it's still a good location.
Pros: Great location bed was extremely comfortable!
Cons: The fire alarm was basically hanging off the wall.
A great choice for a stay in Charleston, Charleston Capitol Hotel is just 4.5 mi (7.3 km) from the airport. For a workout, you can visit the 24-hour fitness center or go for a morning swim at the outdoor pool. Rooms offer LED TVs, premium bedding, and free WiFi.
Pros: Very friendly staff and clean facilities. Comfortable bed. Very quiet location and many places to eat nearby. Great value for the cost
Pros: Good location for easy on/off highway, staff fast, friendly and competent, dogs accepted without extra charge, low price overall
Cons: Cigarette burns in blankets in non- smoking room, room smelled funny and felt unclean (although it wasn't overtly dirty), parking lot made me feel like there was a good chance that my car would be broken into.
