Far from center, bad area
nice studio climate control room
Free parking in front of the hotel. Spacious apartment. Ugly and dangerously looking neighborough. Breakfast buffet was rather weak. The sink in the apartment was bunged up, but the staff took care of it quite rapidly.
the manager is very cooperative, the rooms are big, the breakfast is not the best but is good. i ask for a room to a high floor and receive at & st floor. i asked a nonsmoking room and received a smoking room with a very strong tabaco smell and my girlfried felt very bad because of her asthma problems. it is almost imposible to sleep well because the bed is very bad and the tram line are just in front of the window. if you go by car it is impossible to find a place to park in the evening, the hotel has only three places available. overall not a pleasent stay.
Hotel is situated on nice street headed to centrum of brussel. Its so close from nort raylway station (2-3 minutes). Rooms are huge with all staff whats u need, refrigerator, small kitchen, nice bathroom, tv and dvd player (bring some dvd for pre-sleeping) - huge bed, wauu. Paralel street below hotel ist a turkish shopping street, thats pretty nice. Second paralel street below hotel (firt one next to north station) is the famouse red street with cheap girls, i was affraid at first moment, but thats normal, its not dangerouse how its look like at first moment. Its noise during a day, because that street down to windows, but its not terrible :D
Location near to the railway station, availability of fitness room, clean room very noisy room on the street side despite my request at booking, no dishes or plates in the kitchen corner, it was quite cold in the room - heating not working
Location is convenient for Gare du Nord train station. Also good fitness facilties at the hotel. The hotel is on a main road/tram route and is therefore quite noisy. Staff were friendly but the place seemed rather dis-organized.
Apartment was imnmaculate, comfortable, roomy, miodern. Bed was lumpy on one side. Pillows too flat. Place was in an area that you wouldn't venture out in at night.
The room´s furniture was new and bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast offer not too big but reasonable and always fresh food. Street was busy and noisy. The hotel is situated in part of the Brussels previously called the "red district" so walking from the Nord Station prepare yourself for girls sitting in the shop windows.
Very well equipped room, nice interior The hotel is operated as an add-on to the fitness centre. They did a good job converting the flats above to hotel rooms but the reception service does not live up to expectations. When I went down to check out at 7:20 on Saturday morning I was shocked to find the whole reception deserted, with only a single cleaning person about. This is clearly unacceptable as a hotel service.
Position near the Europa center.
Relative silence. Location in Brussles.
The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable there could be a better choice of breakfast
friendly staff smell in the room
Good value for money. Good breakfast
Better beds - not so extremely soft - would be a plus
Location of hotel, accessibility and cooperative staff. Breakfast was a touch basic.
Nice rooms with internet included. Nice staff.
location temperature of the room too warm
friendly staff, nice decor very thin walls, all sounds from next door rooms easily overheard
Hotel staff, free internet and free mini-bar, close to center. A bit noisy.
The room was very clean and comfortable. A good selection of food was available in the pleasant breakfast room. A big thank you to the staff who were always very friendly and helpful.
A beautiful modern, yet cosy hotel. Staff very welcoming, helpful, and informative. Supurb designer decor throughout. The twin room we had was very generous compared to other hotels in Brussels I've stayed in. Lovely warm, restful Lounge/bar with designer gas fire. Bus stop right outside the hotel making access to the city centre very easy. The bathroom lighting was insufficent, and the bedroom lighting too complicated to opperate, I had to ring reception for instructions! Only one pillow which was very fat; two thinner pillows would aford the guest to use both or only one as they choose. I suffered a fitful night because of this discomfort.
Nice staff and nice design
Nice room, kind personnel, free internet, delicious breakfast, good location, beautiful park near by.
Location, hotel and your management There was no every day full cleaning and maintenance of the room
Good service, bar open all night, good location, close to the villo city bikes
Quiet neighbourhood; comfortable room; free wifi. The bathroom could be improved by refurbishing it
parking lot not safe
This a good place to stay for a couple of students or foreign workers for a longer period of time. Good for travellers on budget - they don't care if 1 or 5 persons are staying in the flat. No cleaning of the room, even waste bin! Very hot, though there was temperature 24c outdoors, there was >30c inside, I was getting up sweating. Walking distance to train station, but surroundings not very good - slums like neighbourhood. In general - quite incovenient place of stay for this money.
The location was very convenient and quit close to the Northern Train Station. The room very well equipped. The bed sheets could be changed more frequently. If You arrive on weekend You might face problems to check in. A telephone number is provided at the main gate. But to get in you need a key word, which is inside locked in the safe!
big rooms small light inside toilet, too soft bed.
Apartment was clean beds very uncomfortable, staff not availiable and when they were there reluctant to offer assistance such as calling a cab when leaving, power kept going off in the apartment,
Close to tram and train station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Too much light in the morning, curtains didn't block sunlight. Room not very clean. The bed broke down and the stove didn't work properly.
localization Arrogant staff at a reception, for my asking for help he two times sad that he is too busy! I was treated like an intrusive insect. Paying 5 Euro/day for internet I couldn't use it in my apartment (no Internet coverage) – I was not informed by staff that I could not use it in my room, so it was totally uncomfortable as I needed to use reception area, and that for 5 Euro???!
cheap (for Bruxelles fares), confortable and not so far from city centre Hard to find. Reception desk is available only few ours per day.
quiet place they advertize interntet connection , but it worked only 2 of teh 5 days of my stay reception times are ilimited to 0830 - 1900, closed on Sunday.
Convenient location No restaurants nearby!
Hotel staff try their best to please customer. The area of the hotel
very clean; pretty staff; nearby are "Gare du nord" and red-light district ( Gare ) all ok
free carpark breakfast choices might be reconsidered
Location all right, an unavailable nearby underground station disfavorises the hotel slightly. The personnel does its utmost to meet guests´ needs. Noisy constructional works starting at 7 A.M.
Location As above
location the rooms are not that clean
availability & kindness of staff; car park poor room service
breakfast was good the price is not suitable compare to the room and services
helpful staff , reasonably good location altho the tagline " 500 yds from the station " is incorrect , it is about 1000yds from the nearest metro station named BOTANIQUE , & about 750 m from Brussels North . GEnerally if some one refers to 'Station' in Brussels it Means Brussels South ( Sud / Midi ) & from there it is 3 kms . Sloppy reception area , torn / dirty carpets , room apparently was used by a smoker earlier , but thereafter not not de-odorozised , v low room & reception arae lighting , no desk lamp .
cleanliness, the bed and the shower th room is cold
Location Mildew in the bathroom, staff who initially tried to refuse to refund cost of breakfast cost for the following day which we canceled after the first day, etc.
Nice location, close to tram and metro, staff was great and very helpful, wireless internet is available Room smelt bad, furniture very old, neighborhood is sometimes frightening
Very good value, given the normally high price of Brussels hotels. Although a bit out of the main city centre attractions, a frequent tram service was adjacent to the hotel and the metro only a short walk away.
Nice people, nice breakfast (5 euros), quiet and in a good position
Very convenient with restaurants next door. The room was outdated and it needed replacement of both decoration and bathroom. The room was outdated and it needed replacement of both decoration and bathroom. Remember that bus 272 to the airport is outside the door - though it will take app. 45-60 min to the airport.
the room was so large and comfortable, and so was the bathroom! Pretty good breakfast, too. Also, really nice and helpfull folks at the reception.
nothing vry old
Good location, direct bus from aeport
Hot water The reception staff - the stupid dark man. Check-in at 2o'clock - sharp! What a stupid stupid behaviour if they have empty rooms!
Cheap Paid for twin room and got a double with a very narrow bed, not ideal for two men! It was also very hot in the rooms
Bed was sleep-able. I read someone mentioning the coffin like elevetor..thought he was exagerating,.... but he was not.... never seen anything like it..... and free parking available = parking on the streets.... didnt feel safe at all
24h checkin Smell in rooms was very bad. Poor breakfest. Far from city center.
This was probably the worst hotel I have staid in for a long time, but also one of the cheapest - and that was why I chose it. Finding cheap hotels in Brussels is really hard. But this one sure made me think. The room was hotter than an oven, but it was the hottest day of the year. It was rather dinky, but not too bad otherwise, and shower and toilet were renovated a few years ago. However, that renovation was sloppy, and the door to the toilet did not open properly because it bumped into the bed. There were And the elevator: I hardly could fit with the luggage. Not very clean either, garbage in he corridors. Free wifi is good, but extremely slow and not always available. The breakfast room was the worst, however. In the back, like a furnitue storage. Decent breakfast, clean tables, if you could find one which was not squeezed up against the back. But the back yard view.... Well, you get what you pay for.
While the room was a bit small, and the toilet room tiny, it was certainly adequate for the purpose: overnight accommodation reasonably close to public transport and beyond to the airport. The staff was extremely helpful, and early breakfast outside the normal times was made readily available. They are a bit over-ambitious about charging the credit card submitted as a guarantee, but I believe a note to the effect that you may wish to pay cash upon arrival would likely be honored. The neighborhood leaves quite a lot to be desired; however, it improves dramatically just a couple blocks away.
cheap place to stay with good public transport nearby location of the place, old facilities, poor breakfast
Found a nice little pizza cafe around the corner! Parking difficult and pleased car intact in the morning. Unusually for Active Hotels, this hotel is shabby and did not look particularly clean - I was very pleased I was there without girlfriend. The bed seemed clean and breakfast was ok but I wouldn't come back to this one.
Good transport links to town, helpful staff Heating not on and no hot water in the showers
Convienient to Brussels airport by car. It is a relatively inexpensive place to stay. Staff was sincere and helpful. Sufficient continental breakfast with early hours was a plus. Our room had been recently remodeled and the remodel odors lingured.
Far from the centre and not easy to find. We first found the Albert Hotel and thanks to the reception there, they provided us a map of the area and highlighted the streets to take us to La Potinière. After seing the Albert Hotel, we wished to have booked there. The trams are really a nightmare to figure out because there was a renovation on the tram ways - i.e.normally there is a tram that takes you the Gare du Nord in 5 mins but due to the change in route it took 20-25 minutes to arrive there.
