lovely balcony with view of harbour. Huge bed. Very clean. Nice bar. 5min walk from Ramblas and 10mins to beach. I'm booking again for next year. Not the worlds greatest shower, but nice bath and bathroom. Oh, and don't binge on the mini bar...predictably extortionate.
Everything about the hotel.. The location was perfect for us not so far from La rambla and the city center -Plaza Catalunya- (about 2 min walk to reach the begining of La Rambla) and the tourist bus has a stop station just infront of the hotel door + their was a very close metro station L3 just at the begining of La Rambla. Nothing really. And I'm planing to stay their at my next visit.
Absolutely great Cold water in the bath monday morning, but it was advised in advance
Nice, well furnished rooms. Good bathroom. Choose this hotel partly because it was announced to have a roof top pool. Now it turned out the pool is about 5x3 m and less than a meter deep. Disappointed about this!
perfect view, nice room, balcony, swimmingpool, everything
The staff were helpful and very friendly
The hotel is ideally situated at the bottom of the main road leading to all the shops and city centre. You can walk to most attractions and the night life is amazing. The bathroom in my room was amazing too with luxury bath and shower. The hotel staff are very friendly and will help you with anything. I would definitely stay there again. Spotlessly clean! Take some teabags as you only get 2 per night with powdered milk. Breakfast was extra for my stay and eating out is a lot cheater than the hotels food. But the hotels food is excellent as a last resort. Just minor issues, other than those I have no real complaints at all about the hotel as it was amazing.
Breakfast; wheel-chair-accessibility in my 10 days at the hotel i was able to open without help the door to my room only one time.
We have stayed 4times at this hotel and everyone is very helpful we really enjoy staying there for comfort Location Hotel staff its wonderful
Location. Decent bathroom. Very hard matresses. Daily charge for internet connecton was over-priced. Virtually impossible to get or receive messages. They had no knowledge of a package that was left for us at the front desk abd it took close to 24 hours and multiple inquiries before it was delivered to us.
The greeting upon arrival at the hotel was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, and the room itself was very clean and comfortable, if small. The location is good. Access to the centre of town is via a very pleasant walk up Las Ramblas. It is also an equally pleasant walk along the promenade which is just next to the hotel. All the rooms have kettles. Upon plugging in said kettle I received quite an alarming electric shock followed by a loud bang, sparks and smoke coming from the plug socket and a consequent power cut in the room. Whilst I accept these things happen as electrical appliances get older and need replacing, what alarmed me was the total lack of concern on behalf of the staff when I notified them that of what had happened, and of the fact that I had actually been electrocuted in their hotel room. In fact their only response was to send up a handyman to replace the kettle and reset the fuse. I mentioned what had happened twice at the reception desk and quite frankly other than showing some slight surprise they couldn't seem to care less. Another disappointing factor was the view. Many of the reviews, and indeed the website boast a fantastic panoramic view of the Barcelona skyline, whilst in reality the view, even from the 8th floor, consists of a massive pylon (which sits directly in front of the hotel) and an average vantage point of the Barcelona skyline at best.
clean and tidy no iron
Good position and value. Thin walls. Could be noisy, but during my stay I heart only the houskeepers pushing their carts in the morning.
The hotel is very small compare to other hotel round the corner . when i was there the air condition was not working . i have to sleep with all my window open and i was at the first floor . it was a bad experience the rooms are to small . where as for an extra 10 euro you get a much bigger room just along the street
Very convenient location for all tourist attractions.
Arc La Rambla is situated in an excellent location - close to all amenities. I booked a double room -superior but got a twin room - then we were moved to a double room on request but this room had no view - was very disappointed. We could not understand having booked a double room and ended up with a twin room- first room was lovely with the view. However the staff were friendly and rooms were clean. On the hotel paperwork it stated double superior room.
excellent value for money, clean, friendly staff, we will be returning later in the year all the room needed was a kettle and tea making facilities
location room was very basic, breakfast was poor
Very good location, close to everything (metro station, plaza catalynua, port, food , shopping etc) no refrigerator
very close from the shopping area the bed are a little bit too strong
The Location Nothing
good location, just of La Ramba, well lit area.
pleasant staff, location in the city center, good breakfast incl in price for room cleanliness of the room, esp. bathroom
Good location,nice staff,clean&well equipped room,
Staff very helpful.Provided good breakfast..also had good internet service.Good location for sightseeing and shopping...convenient
Helpful staff, basic accommodation but well priced breakfast buffet
The best of Aparthotel Gutenberg is without any doubt the location
The location The cleaniness, breakfast too crowded
The price, excellent location and very friendly and helpful reception staff. Rooms can be a bit noisy as no carpets in rooms or corridors.
It is very central. I slept like a log as the blackout curtains totally blocked the sun light and the double glazing was really soundproof. Although, we were in Las Ramblas pedestrian walk I could not hear a thing. I also liked the mattress a lot. I think they could have offered us bathrobes and slippers. I can do without bathrobes but not without slippers as I had to walk barefoot in the bathroom.
Hotel is not even close to 4 stars standard. Should be classified as 3 stars
good location, interesting design. more fresh air (open windows)
New designed room , very clean . Staff speaks good english , very polite and helpfull . Main think- good location - you can get everywhere by foot . Close to La Rambla , but silent . It was no wardrobe and aircondition
The staff were excellent and very helpful with our requests and questions. I liked staying there. The hotel is new and just opened. Clean, beds comfortable, and we liked new design. Very close to the La Ramble, beach, shopping, and metro. I would stay again.Free WiFi The halls a little dark. The glass shower was covering half of the bathtub. We have to be careful not splash water on the floor.
Location Unfinished hotel, no parking, no restaurant. Our room didn't have a window at eye level and apparently even rooms with windows do not open. very claustrophobic and air conditioning didn't work. Imagine the corridors will look shabby very quickly as the black walls already looked scuffed. felt very pleased to leave our little box!!
The location is very good and the facilities also. It seems like a hotel rather than a hostel. Its clean and well decorated. The metro station is 10 minutes far away by walking and if you have luggage its a bit difficult but you can take the bus which station is outside the hostel.
Staff was very helpfull and nice. 1) I had a room on the second floor and elevator was only till the 1st floor. I had to carry my heavy suitcase up to the 2nd floor until my rooms passing by additional intermediate stairs. Quite many stairs to reach the floor and the end of the corridor !! 2) rooms are very small not much space to circulate
the location is really good and it is rather cheap for Barcelona. The room was smelling clod smoke even if it was a non-smoking room.
Good location, close to metro and walking distance from city centre. Small room viewing walls of surrounding buildings (like in a tunnel). Poor daylight - you can not know what the weather is like until you get out of the hotel.
close to port, what is we needed and wifi.
Easy access to the centre of town and the metro
The helpful staff. The professional hotel-like hostel. Much nicer than the usual hostel.
perfect location, helpful friendly staff, clean, basic but good breakfast available everyday nothing
Simple, good and excellent location none
Good location, nice rooms, pleasant overall impression.
It was very close to all attractions that we were there to see..walking distance to Las ramblas, La Boqueria, the beach, the Marina and many many other attractions..the staff was very helpful and very friendly...fantastic location I gotta say..away from the noise yet close to everything..this would be my first choice when I go back to Barcelona...loved it!! The only one thing that I didn't like was just the wifi..it just kept coming in and out at times..but everything else was fantastic...
We really liked this hotel: completely redone. The location was fantastic: a leisurely walk to Rumblas as well as to the boardwalk/Mall area by the bay. Lots of small convenience stores within a block or two to buy water, etc. Mcdonald's is also 5 min away in Rumblas; food is expensive in Barcelona, so it was nice to have this close-by with nice outside tables. The rooms and bathrooms are very specious with either a comfortable full size bed or two twin beds. The roll away beds are limited, specify the number of people staying in the room if you need one. The staff was very accommodating and gave us rooms next to each other, but they have no connecting rooms.
Perfect location, Drassanes metro station is just a couple of minutes walk away, the sea and port are really close too as well as La Rambla and other places of interest. The breakfast was not that good even though it seemed to include lots of things. If you want to use the safe in the room you'll have to pay 2 extra Euros per day and that's kind of strange for a 4-star hotel. Air-conditioning too noisy and inefficient
the location is great but the square in front of the hotel is full of homeless . The rooms were very clean and cleaned well every day. As opposed to some reviews I found the staff at the reception quite friendly and helpful. Some less so than others. I requested that my Tv be fixed to allow CNN to be shown from day 1. On day 5 still not done and I asked everyday.. Perhaps they could not do that but they could leave amessage accordingly. I thought the price was a little on the high side for the value.
central situation shower room flooded when used and wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the corridor which made poor impression on arrival
I'm an American from the South that does not know the language. I didn't have any issues with directions. Good food is around the corners at this centrally located hotel to everything. Good price for the nice room. There's a problem with shower water on the floor after I showered. With my feet still wet DON'T step on the marble floor!
The location was great. The sheets were dirty, they pay them over towels. The bed makes a lot of noise. The mattress is uncomfortable. Didn't like the buffet
I took my girlfriend for her 21st birthday and neither of us was disapointed (even her). The location was perfect, a 30 second walk to La Ramblas and the Harbour just across the road. The room was nice and clean with an lovely en-suite bathroom. The staff could've been a bit more freindly ie saying hello and goodbye for a start but apart from that I really enjoyed staying at the Medinaceli and would go back there as it's great value for money and perfeclty located
By far the best location in town, quiet but in the midst of the action. Most sights within walking distance. Clean, modern and with a touch of history and tradition. No hotel parking.
I asked for a room overlooking the square which I got. The water was brown and the hotel would not reassign me to another room until my last nite nor did they reduce my room rate.
