The price was unbelievably cheap. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was convenient - it was close to the monorail line, not far from the Petronas Towers, near malls with excellent food courts (try it - I'm not joking!) and it's located on a street that's packed with bars and dance clubs. Aside from some sketchiness about other aspects of my stay here, I did feel relatively safe. Due to the hostel's location, loud dance music pounded through the room from late at night until the early hours of the morning. I wore earplugs, which brought the volume down to a roar that I could still feel in my bones. Could. Not. Sleep. The room I was in had a bad, funky odor and grimy carpet that seemed like it had never, ever been cleaned. There were toenail clippings and unidentifiable things spilled on it, which was really gross. I never went barefoot in that room. The showers were broken - heat didn't work, shower head was either missing or sprayed water everywhere. I did find one that was ok. No lockers, although the staff held onto my passport for me. It was really more like a flop-house than a proper hostel. I should have expected that from the seems-too-good-to-be-true price, but even if the price had been zero, it would have been better to just spend a little extra to stay somewhere nicer. I think this place has potential, and the staff seemed nice, so I hope they make some improvements and make this place worth recommending!
