Good location, decent breakfast Rooms and bed, like most hotels in Iceland, were a bit small.
Liked the location. Third time I stayed there and the staff is still as nice as the first time.
Its situation and its tranquility
Convenient downtown location. Nice, clean facility. Several restaurants and shopping nearby. Staff was not particularly knowledgable about their town (only 14000 people). Usually seemed occupied with other people. Dining room food, while presented nicely, was cold when served - and waitress didn't seem to care..
Close to city center. Room was clean and neat. Room was very small - even by European standards. Central location is on a very busy (and noisy) street.
Friendly and courteous staff. Rooms were small but very comfortable. Breakfast offered a lot of choice and was excellent. The hotel was in a super location, right by the cathedral and the main shopping area.
Location No bath - only shower
Excellent breakfast table. The room was nice but might have been cleaner.
restaurant was very good, the hotel is good situated the room is tiny
location in the centre of the city, breakfast
Great location in the very centre of Akureyri. Very clean, nice rooms; our room was quiet and yet with a beautiful view on the fiord. Very good buffet breakfast, plenty of options to choose from.
nice location looking over the fjord. felt the rooms were dated for the price we paid even keeping in mind accomodation is expensive in iceland.
Very helpfull staff +++ an amazing sunny terrace in front of the Fjord +++ Lunch & breakfast Smelly bathroom (blocked pipes...) , but ok they are aware of the problem, the will fix it and it shouldn't affect other guests
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Compared with other Icelandic hotels, this one wsa full of character and in a stunning location on a fjord. Buffet dinner was good but pricey.
Very nice view. Roomy lobby The room could have been bigger for the 3 bed room.
the bed was too soft and kept moving on the wheels
The site, quiet and original place. we like the little house Not enought place for the breakfast.
The hotel is a very family friendly hotel in a lovely setting. The room was clean and warm (stayed in April where the weather was very cold). The view from the hotel was beautiful. We liked the relaxed atmosphere in the Hotel - even where we took off our shoes at the front door before going to our rooms. Overall a lovely hotel with very friendly staff - a nice change! None
The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms were welcoming, and the food was incredible!
I would like to have used Internet in my room.
Friendly and polite staff, we were delighted with the overwhole decoration and the jaccuzi outside.
Central location. There was an error (114 EUR) with the just payment but it was corrected, afterwards, when we asked for an explanation. There is no lift.
The staff although not very efficient trying really hard being polite and extremelly friendly. Got a present at the end with good wishes to recompensatewhich I found as an excellent overall perfomance. No parking (unless paying) between 10:00 & 16:00. very limited outside these hours. Rather clumsy staff trying very hard. Wireless internet broken. Poor breakfast.
Location in Akureryi and price relative to other kea hotels. The temperature was too hot! There were hot water pipes, I assume, running under the floor on one side of the room and even with the windows open, it was too hot for me to sleep comfortably.
Spacious room - good location Limited seating in breakfast area
This hotel was really great. We were in a relativly new building, were everthing was modern and clean. Location is good, it was quiet and breakfast was okay.. So, we recommend this hotel totally. The bath was in terms of cleaness not perfect and we once had dinner (buffet) and were not really satisfied with the value to cost ratio.of this.
Price Quality the best hotel we stayed at in Iceland. Not at all an Edda school hotel; the new wing with bathrooms in the room is a professionally run hotel that can compete with the best hotels in Iceland. For me a four star hotel with very nice and for iceland very large rooms and bathrooms. Excellent service and very good restaurant and breakfast.
The hotel is located in a good position close to the city center (5 mins walking) and to the botanic garden one of the most interesting things to see in the city. The staff was really nice and helped us with any request even when not directly related to the room we booked. We stayed in a cheap double room with a washbasin but without bathroom. The room was clean and wide enough to keep our luggage and stuff. Overall for the cheap price we pay the service was good.
pretty clean, had TV, microwave Not easy to find - many in town did not know where it was. The street address listed is deceiving - the hotel entrance actually sits on another street. There is only one small sign.
These are student rooms, so very basic, but the beds were comfy, plenty of storage space & everything was ultra clean and tidy. None of us had to queue for a shower or use of the shared bathrooms. There's a common room with 2 pool tables, music system and a grand piano. Lots of settees around the common areas to relax. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. Really lovely, helpful staff. Situated 5 mins walk from Akureyri, a lovely town. Really great value for money in what can be a very expensive country.
Fairly central, although up a hill - but that can't be helped Would have preferred a shower / bathroom in the actual room.
cheap and nice
Location of the hotel is good - close to the city center and Botanical Gardens. Good car parking area Hotel charged for wireless internet, though in the booking condition it was freeof charge. After some discussion this issue was solved and money returned.
So much better than I expected - it functions as a school in term time, so we did wonder how it would be. Large comfortable room, very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and modern hotel. Could have done with a comfortable chair in the room.
The budget rooms were full and we were upgraded to rooms with bathrooms. They were spacious, clean, with small kitchen, TV, and quite luxurious compared to other accommodations. I would highly recommend spending the extra money for these rooms, as the quality was much much better than the typical student dorms this hotel chain provides. Located up a hill from town center - we drove rather than walked, but in good weather it is probably walkable. No - this was the best budget accommodation we found on our trip.
